  1. hi all i am looking for the number of the driving instructor-school that has a fabia vrs in the redcar - middlesbrough area as my other half wants to learn to drive and i have seen a instructors car when i have been out and about before but now i need the number i cannot find it . :'( the car was a mk1 fabia vrs special edition i was kinda hoping that someone on here may know the number of the driving school or even better the instructor any help would be greatfull many thanks
  2. thanks for the help think i will stick with 205/40/17 as this is the closest to the standard size in diameter so spedo should be the same or near enough cheers all
  3. hi all swmbo has told me we are coming so please can you put us on the list with a car full looking forward to seeing the lights as the last time i was there was ohhh about 30 years ago (dont get out of me shell too much :( )
  4. hi all what tyres do you all have on the octy spiders the reason i ask is i have just gone and got me some mint octy vrs spiders and i know i need 40 profile but do i stay 205 or will 215 be ok also do any of you run wheel spacers and if so what size my car is not lowered yet but it is on the menu as i'm not keen on the 4x4 look its always best asking before i make a mistake any input will be greatfull thanks in advance
  5. hi there i have recently bought a 54 plate fabia vrs with 65k on the clock now my problem is when the car just comes on boost i get a wind chime noise it sounds to me like a possible high pitched pressure escape but i can play with the sound if i feather the accelerator . the other thing i have noticed is when i just go on boost up a hill and dont change gear but dont change the position of the accellerator pedal the noise will come back as the car goes up the hill. could this be a intercooler fault (possibly split) or the daft clip boost pipes or worst case turbo knackerd i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution i have vag com if there is anything i can log any advice will be greatfull
  6. many thanks for all the coments i think a price drop to £3000 and getting some different wheels like multi spokes may help looks like it may end up standard as well but may give it another week at £3000 before i do the reverse mods to standard i do understand it is to everyones taste and i love the wheels and i may try them on me new furby keep your eyes open there may be some parts coming up soon again many thanks for all the help
  7. well people many thanks for the input looks like i may have to bin the wheels and find some standard ones (sold my originals .stupid me ) and the standard route may be on the cards and sell the bits off seperatley will go get some pics of the interior looking like a weekend of work for me thanks again :'(
  8. hi all i have had my car up for sale and have had no intrest just wondering your opinions is it overpriced or the wheels or just my luck probably the latter to be honnest the thing is i have a furby on route and could do with this out of the way my job now requires alot of driving and me octy is not that practical when i'm gonna be doing about 500-800 miles per week any opinions welcome good or bad advert link on here
  9. hi there i have 18x8 on a et 35 and i can tell ya they are close to the strut and i would have not thought you would be able to go any wider but someone else may be able to confirm this they do sit nice in the arches though alot wider stance hope this helps
  10. i have one fitted its great i would not go back the shift is a great deal shorter and you can get the power down a fraction quicker a big from me
  11. i have this one fitted its a pretty straight forward fit and also has the map sensor mount on one of the pipes linky
  12. when i painted the chrome surround in the grill all ii did was remove the grill from the car i did try to split the grill to make things easier but this was not going to happen as things felt like they would break so all i did was cheat and sand the chrome with 180 grit sandpaper making sure i got every edge possible as everyone knows paint does not stick to chrome very well, once sanded i then used a acid etch primer to eat into the chrome surface then a light coat of regular primer and then the colour all done in about a hour but it transforms the front of the car also decided to give the red stripe a miss i think i agree with you all that it is a bit too much my boss has just described it as a england flag :'( thanks for the coments about how clean the car is i do keep on top of it cleaning and waxing about 2-3 times a week but the pics with the white wheels on the car has a thick layer of dust on from being in the bodyshop all day as i also got me a new rear bumper fitted with a exhaust hole to fit the exhaust instead of the wide opening i had wich looks a lot neater from the back now ,my exhaust does not look lost anymore Thanks for all the coments everyone
  13. just put some old red stripe in the spokes to see how it would look i think this is the way to go but will obviously have to paint the red in i think the next thing for me is lower the car i did try removing the door mouldings but i did not like the look i felt there was something missing the doors looked too big
  14. got me new 18" wheels fitted today on 225/40/18 tyres i like the new look but now think she needs lowering also in the middle of the spokes there is a shallow flute wich i am considering doing red looking for opinions and lets all be honnest i wont cry much :'( and heres before
  15. i have one its fantastic and good value for money do some searches ebay intercooler there are loads of threads
