  1. I replaced the ballasts and the headlight still didn't work. I took it to an auto electrician who informed that the cable had some damage and was causing a short circuit where it rubbed on the alternator belt. I have had that repaired and both lights work fine. Its my audible beep and warning light on the dash that goes off every time I start the car. But strangely when I turn the lights on the warning light disappears and when I turn the lights off it comes back again. Would that be suggesting that there is an issue with the wiring still as it only happens when the lights are off? any help greatly appreciated
  2. wicked appreciate all your help buddy. Have ordered them tonight so fingers crossed the xenons will be up and running again soon
  3. Appreciate the response and sorry about the late reply. Been a busy few days, I think I am going to replace both ballasts as I have recently replaced both bulbs. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XENUS-5DV007760-V1-Xenon-Vorschaltgerat-Steuergerat-Ballast-Zundgerat-wie-Hella-/381168486583?hash=item58bf6988b7:g:Vf8AAOSwxg5XxER7&clk_rvr_id=1103606955256&afsrc=1&rmvSB=true. If i Purchase these there is there anything else that I need to buy to replace the ballasts? (EG the bracket that holds the ballast into the back of the headlight.) Stupid question but when you say "DS2 adapter lead" is that the lead that is shown photo with the lamp holder on the end? I don't think I need new headlights as I have just taken my headlights apart and cleaned all the projector lenses both inside and out and projector bowl didn't have any signs of heat damage which is good news. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQKKxZwm-lg. done something similar to this video even though it looks a lot easier with his headlights. It has definitely made my headlights seem a lot brighter. Cheers Ryan
  4. Hey all I have an 05 plate MK1 fabia VRS with factory fitted xenons. I have recently replaced my xenon bulbs as the previous ones were getting really quite dim. They worked a lot better after doing that but it seems one of the ballasts have blown. I am curious what type of ballast I need as after doing some research a lot state they are HID Kits. Would a ballast from a HID kit work with xenons? I have purchased some expensive xenon bulbs so if someone could shed some light onto which ballast I would need and what are some decent ballasts (if they do vary that is) in terms of brightness and longevity. Many thanks in advance Ryan
  5. Was planning on attempting something like this. Was curious if anyone else has done this before or tried it?? It looks like its definitely possible but the small nuts are hard to reach
  6. When I had the lights off of the car last time I did see that the projector lens was held in place with some nuts. They looked really quite hard to get to but I might try that before paying out for new lamps as I know they aren't cheap. Has anyone done this before and have any tips?? Cheers for reply :-)
  7. Hi I have a set of original xenon's which were on the car from new. I have recently seen a steady decline in the amount of light output so I decided to change the bulbs (as far as im aware these bulbs are the original bulbs so making them 10 years old). I purchased and installed Osram night breaker unlimited lamps. This has helped a little but its still not as good as I remember them being back a few years ago. I cleaned all the outer lenses with meguires kit. Lenses came up really clean and look loads better. But I noticed when the headlamps are off the car that the projector lense has a cloudy appearance and I think that this could be the main reason as to why the lights are so poor. When looking at them it appears that the projector lenses has two layers. One inner and one outer. Its hard to tell which one it is that is cloudy ( I think its the inner one) So my question to you is how do i get at both layers to clean both projector lenses?
  8. yea i read a couple reviews online and they werent ment to be to good and well overpriced. i ended up going janners pit stop. new one that has opened right oposite mill auto's, my friend knows the chap who owns it. he used to work for VRS in bodmin but left there to start his own business.

  11. my alloy wheels are corroding from the inside and doesnt allow the bead of the tyre to sit onto the rim of the alloy and causes it to leak. I have taken all four tyres off and tried to sand all the corosion down and this was only a short fix as they are now leaking again. Does anyone no of any good places in the st austell area to get them sland blasted and refurbished? Thanks
  12. My front windscreen wipers won't work, Iv'e checked the fuses stated in the handbook and after looking on here i have checked fuse 15 and replaced it but with no success. Front and rear washer jets still working fine and no issues with the rear windscreen wiper. Has anyone had this issue if so what was the problem? or problems :-( Thanks
  13. Ok no problem if you do decide to split then give me a shout. And good luck with the sale :-)
  14. how much we talking for driver's seat cover? just the top half
  15. I have searched high and low for a thread about this subject but can't seem to find anything. I am having a annoying rattling noise coming from my passenger door card when listening to loud music. It doesnt have to be stupidly loud. Even just background noise and if it hits the right bass note's then it will vibrate. Just curious as to what it would be and if anyone has had this problem before. I did read that the speaker itself is riveted into the door so i cant imagine that being a problem. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated :-)
