  1. don't worry too much about the mayo, as thes engines are prone to allowing condensation forming inside in the cold weather, and it can be this moisture that forms the mayo. i agree that it could be smoking rather than steaming (easy to confuse on these nippy mornings). Get it Vag Com read, and you will see if the temp sensor is the culprit HTH
  2. what if doing the hokey-cokey is what it's all about?

  3. It's a whole unit I'm afraid. I got one a while back, and IIRC it's less then £20.00, but can't find the receipt at the mo.
  4. Know anybody with an enclosed garage? Put it in there for the day with the doors open and a fan heater in the back? Also run the a/c whenever you are in the car as this dehumidifies the air coming into the car, regardless of whether it is cooling the air
  5. Take off and nuke them from orbit, it's the only way to be sure
  6. cold baked beans count as salad here in Yorkshire
  7. Can't you keep this sort of thing for a PM? What you and Simeon get up to in the privacy of your own homes is fine by me, but surely the Skoda forum is not the right place:rofl:
  8. But if he does it out of sequence he'll be left with black and blue balls;)
  9. fantastic:rofl: my cat of old always caught the flies alive and then kept them in his mouth whilst they buzzed around - space dust for cats:thumbup:
  10. errr......... who's Tony, and who's Haley?:sofahide:
  11. Congratulations to you all:thumbup: Don't forget to wet the baby's head;):friday:
  12. No, no, no, no, no! :jawbig: Have you got a Dukes of Hazard novelty horn to play between the whistles?
  13. A recent thread on this subject is here <--------clicky, clicky, or another that gives more details here <-------------------- clicky You need 205/40/17 tyres to keep the right rolling radius to avoid issues with rubbing, speedo accuracy and rolling resistance. 5x100 are right, but i'm not certain on the offset for the Fabia, it maybe et38 There are loads of threads on this subject, so try the search, it's what it's there for:thumbup:
  14. I have four 5w independently switchable rear interior lights running off exactly the same front interior light in my 2001 fabia without any issues, but that is with 34mm festoon LEDs, and with the bulbs in the unit iteslf swapped for a 38mm festoon LED and two 501 type LEDs. In fact I am also considering fitting a further four 5w (again with LEDs, but 501 type) footwell lights from the unit as well, so I hope the unit is up to it HTH
  15. Yep, that's what Sundays are for - taking the door cards off (again) and plugging the leaks.:( My difficulty is getting the inside of the door dry enough to stop the water dripping through the sealant as it sets! I used the opportunity of the door cards being off to fit puddle lights to the bottom of the front doors (spliced to the red warning lights), in the somewhat optomistic hope that there will be more water on the outside to look out for than on the inside I'll see when i get back to the open car park at the end of the day whether or not this attempt has finally stopped the leaks
