  4. Can someone please put my mind at rest here, I'm fed up with suggestions on the Swift Talk webby that my Ocky and caravan outfit maybe illegal. I have an octy 2008 hatch VRS 2.0 TDI 170 DPF and my caravan is a Swift 2013 Challenger GTS 554 . Prior to upgrading my old van for this new one it was matched at the caravan dealership and with The Caravan Club , I had an experience with snaking and discovered that my nose weight was too light at 60 kgs , I have now made the adjustments and have no further issues, I dunno if this person thinks a VRS is some lightweight car, as far as I can tell it's pretty heavy and solid.
  5. Lol, no.............the thread is photography and share, it is exactly that .
  6. I really like this , lovely lighting and dramatic sky in the second image
  7. Very nice images, but as someone that hails from Africa my humble opinion is animals should not be kept in zoos
  8. Nice DOF first one a pity about the processing, it would help to play with the temp settings and contrast to bring out the colours more
  9. some really lovely skies and backdrops, a pity about the power lines which distracts a little
  10. I hope I'm not overdoing it but some more of my photography
  11. Thanks guys, I have loads more and enjoy seascape and landscape, I have being tinkering with water effects lately too will post some more
  12. Hi all, I love photography , here are some pics of mine be it amateurish , enjoy
  13. Hi all, Anyone ever had issues with the oil filter retainer screwed cover coming loose ? My Vrs suddenly dumped the entire sump of oil despite the cover being torqued up ,it just makes a pop sound and blows it back off.
  14. lol, my bad, I just discovered how to say hello, so HELLOO!!

  15. Oh dear car problems again this time engine management light on, took it back to White Dove, they say it's the dpf, OMG a dpf on my vrs , now that is surely is not right!! Turns out they are right, but.........I did not have the 3 so called warning lights on and that after a week, they tried to charge me £83 to carry out a forced regeneration although the car is just only in it's second year warranty. Question I ask myself, how is a driver supposed to know what is wrong if only the engine management light is on???? Any way I refused to pay and the cheeky buggers said they'd do it as a goodwill, yeah right, I picked it up exactly 30mins after the regeneration and the engine was ice cold, blegh. The very next day same story and I had to drive the car for a week whilst waiting for a courtesy car, strangely no dpf warning light on in all that time, I sneaked our fiat/alfa diagnostic lappie onto it before I took it in on the 23rd Dec and got codes for exhaust pressure, hmmm differential pressure sensor maybe or perhaps egr? nah no power loss so hardly egr. I wait with interest for next Wednesday to see exactly what they found and what action was taken. Also why are Skoda selling vrs dpf models for uk???? I was offered a new car well 6mnths newer, a vrs cr but wait for it with dpf again and no toys, mine is full house with cruise control the works , oppertunistic salesman maybe? .
  16. Update, my car is still going great, no problems and I do not have the high idle anymore, all is good ))
  17. I will not carry out variable servicing on my 08 vrs octavia, I think 1200 miles intervals with shell helix to spec is a wise decision, also idling the engine for 1 minute before shutoff should protect my turbo
  18. Got my car back today, they changed the alternator and it seemed okay on the way home, I was disappointed though that they could'nt even wash my car after being in their workshops for two weeks, it was absolutely filthy ,also I got it back minus the engine undertray:( Mannyo if that's the case then surely it does not regenerate more than 10 times in a 5 mile trip around town? *gets out his bag of marshmellows to toast :P
  19. I got my car back today , performed okay on the way home, thought I'd do a little quality control, to my horror discovered my engine under tray missing, screws n all, rang then straight away , response, they will ask the tech who worked on it, total lack of urgency , also car dirty after being in their workshops for two weeks, not even washed !!!
  20. Sigh, my 08 ocky vrs has developed the same dreaded problem and this is the second time!!! My local dealer is under impression its a battery problem, i.e. not being charged properly, ermm can't say I noticed flat battery issues, also it tends to idle at 1,000 rpm 98% of the time, not sure if it has dpf as I didnt see a particulate filter on the exhaust system ?
  21. Thanxs claytarget_gold, my car is still there and they now say it's batttery problem and its on charge? this has taken two weeks? The "problem" is it's not being charged properly, surely an alternator is the next thing to look at and they must have a diagnostic menu on the vag lappie to check the alternator? It beggers belief :(
  22. Hi Alan, No its a common fault, my beloved 08 vrs is in skoda w/shops atm for the same problem, there is a tsb out there to deal with it, mine has had the tsb done last year but sadly the problem has reoccured:(
