Have a you found a solution yet? I seem to have the same problems with my Admundson satnav in my 2016 Octavia SEL 1.4 tsi. Route guidance first freezes, then eventually the system restarts and no route guidance anymore. The system occasionally restarts without using the satnav. Overall, a very frustrating issue.

Have recently changed my 2006 Octavia estate 1.6 fsi (elegance) for a new Octavia estate 1.4 tsi (my16). I'm very pleased with the car so far, lovely and "supple" drive, very smooth and quiet at lower speeds but the wind noise increases considerably and seems more noticeable at higher speeds (> ~ 55 mph) compared with my previous car. Engine is still rather new but seems more powerful and economical at the same time, so overall I'm very happy .

I don't think I have such a button..... would be very helpful though!

Thanks for your replies. Yes, it bleeps continuously even when nothing is around, but this is erratic as this morning it behaved well (no sound at all when reversing.....). Strange.... Anyway, I presume there is no easy way to switch off the sensors when needed? Thanks.

Hi there, I have an 56reg Octavia Elegance and wondered whether I could switch off my rear parking sensor (if needed). The reason that I am asking is that these sensors seem to work quite irregular: frequently (but not always.....) emitting a continuous warning signal while there is nothing close behind me, this happens particularly in the morning while reversing out of my parking space. Any advice & suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks.

Thanks for your welcome! I haven't as yet received any response regarding the 1.6 FSI engine; I guess this isn't a popular choice among the Biskoda members! How could I possibly improve my mpg (apart from my driving style). Would super unleaded help? Thanks. Best wishes!

Hi there. A few weeks ago I was forced to change my 2000 vauxhall vectra, and having done a little research decided to go for an used Octavia estate. I originally wanted to go for a diesel, but finally I went for a low mileage 2006 octavia elegance estate with a 1.6 FSI engine. I am quite happy with driving this good looking machine. However, browsing the web I have seen quite a few mixed reviews on this particualr engine and now I noticed that Skoda discontinued this engine. I couldn't see a lot of comments on this site about this engine. The 1.6 FSI engine is supposed to be a frugal engine, although I am not too sure about this. My trip computer regularly shows an average mpg of more than 40 but the last time I got petrol I calculated my mpg to be more closer to ~ 33. Personally I feel that the drive is fine, but I hope to test the car further by towing a caravan, albeit a small one, by the end of this week! I am keen to hear experiences from other octavia 1.6 FSI drivers. Cheers.
