  1. Thank you so much. Definitely something worth considering. Much appreciated
  2. Thank you Vindaloo I am certainly considering one of these myself. Do you know if it's a straight fit or would it need anything else?
  3. Channy 86 couldn't agree more. Awful there. Big thanks though for the advice. Mine got stuck today. Worried I'd have to take it to a garage but job done in 30 secs thanks to this site!
  4. Absolutely awful. Took my 2001 Fabia in some time ago to have repairs done under warranty. They kindly stripped the engine down, looked it over, decided it wasn't a warranty job, did nothing and subsequently charged me over £500 quid for the privilege. Cowboys quite frankly. Never been back.
  5. thanks for that, i have sorted it now! lets hope the sealant does its job as i dont fancy taking the panel off again!
  6. first of all i want to say a big thank you to whoever posted advice on the forum about sealing the rear doors. i have had trouble with water leaking into to the footwell, but after finding a solution on here i tackled the problem today-so fingers crossed! this has however caused me another problem. i didnt take the door trim right off, prefering to lift it clear of the offending seal and work around it. but it seems it lifted too far, and the door release catch has disappeared into the door trim (i didnt notice til i shut the door :( )and not i cannot get the door back open to rectify it! neither handle allows me to open the door, and i am restricted as to how far i can get behind the trim to do anything. could someone please advise?
  7. same problem on my fabia! someone said it might be the drain tubes/pipes on the doors though? how do i locate these and unblock them?
  8. i have a 1999 fabia with 62k, my first after a driving lifetime of fords and i do wish id made the change sooner as i do enjoy the car. i am having a problem though. once or twice now the tripometer has reset itself (i know i havent done it) and yesterday i had my abs warning light come on along with the brake one with all the attendant bells and whistles. luckily i was passing the garage i always use and they checked the brakes told me they was ok and reset the computer-write it off as a glitch. however, today the oil warning decides to (briefly) get in in the act but stopped as i was pulling over to check-but my oil was ok. is it likely that the cpu is on the way out? if so could anyone please give me an idea how much to replace one of these would be is is there likely to be a simpler and cheaper answer?
