  1. Seriously - definite case of 'don't ask, don't get'. And (after a week with mine) I can only endorse what everyone else says - try and get the 1.9!!
  2. ....but only a Skoda owner as of yesterday. Roomster SE 1.9TDi in Rosso Brunello, which looks absolutely fab. Wife has a '55 plate Octavia II Estate 1.9TDi - not sure what trim level it is. Peterborough-based, commuting to the BBC in London most days. Part-time musician, photographer and writer. Promised myself an Octavia vRS with flappy paddles some day. (Oh - one thing? Admin, is there any possiblity of losing the @g off the end of my username?)
  3. In March or so, our local Jet was 89.9/89.9 unleaded/diesel. It's basically crept up a penny at a time over the intervening six months - as of Saturday it was 103.9/103.9 (usually unleaded has lagged a penny behind). As I don't have a car to go check till 2pm ( ) I dunno what'll happen today
  4. 1) press CD button twice to get AUX input 2) is it a Stream or a Stream MP3 (seems odd to be a stream if it has an Aux)
  5. ***************************************** Other than that (and bear in mind the actual car arrives tomorrow) - I've had no complaints - Dan in sales has been courteous, helpful (he's even picking me up tomorrow since I have no car and WIngs isn't on a bus route) and generally excellent, Colette on the phone is friendly and cheerful... They didn't even mind getting a dead Vectra for scrappage a week early! Anyone used them for remaps? Not that I want one for the Roomster, but I see a sportier Octavia in my medium term future once Anne's Octavia Estate gets pensioned off.
  6. 48 hours and counting. Collecting at 2pm Tuesday. Have already seen it (went to drop in insurance cert on Sat) - that Rosso Brunello is a really sweet colour - really looks the business.
  7. I think you're looking for the TuneBase Direct - Belkin : TuneBase Direct with Hands-Free
  8. Ok. SLIGHT glitch in the plan My Vectra decided to give up the ghost a week early, having blown its engine on the M11 last night - coolant leak, by the looks, but with no temperature warning or engine warning light. It's now sitting forlornly outside the Skoda dealer's, waiting on my wife dropping the keys in. So it's bus to the station this week.
  9. Yup, it's a Stream :( However, my soon-to-arrive Roomster doesn't have a CD changer, and that's probably the car we'll use for long journeys. So I guess one plan would to swap her changer into my Roomster, and fit an Aux->CD adaptor into hers. What (roughly) would I expect to pay to get a dealer to do that?
  10. My wife's '55 Octavia has the I assume standard (monochrome LCD screen) radio/CD/6 CD changer - the STREAM. Just to be sure I've got this clear - the connections for the Aux in are there, even though she doesn't have one on the dash/centre console? If so, I foresee a quick bit of engineering in my future. As an aside: the Octavia was a company car, and Anne's not the best at reading manuals or (occasionally) observation. It took her till sometime last year to realise the boxy thing in the boot was a CD changer!
  11. My ... ok, our... Roomster arrives on Sep 1: brand new 59 plate 1.9TD SE in the burgundy/maroon colour (on the scrappage scheme for my very VERY clapped out S reg Vectra 1.8). We didn't go for anything in the way of extras (partly because it was a 'this one's available, will it do) but I blame Top Gear for convincing 'er indoors we wanted the 1.9 Can't wait. Wife already has a very nice '55 1.9TD Octavia Estate she's just bought off work (it was her company car), and we have a good relationship with the local dealer (Wings of Peterborough), and with the 1.9 engine... Piccies to follow, I guess
