  1. Hi, does anyone know where the relay is physically located. It is relay location 2/3 according to the diagram but where is it and how do you get at it please??
  2. Hi, I have this showing on my dash, it started when the high level brake light went out (subsequently found to be ok) and no matter how many times I check or fiddle with the bulbs the warning still shows. I have just had the wiring checked out to prevent any faults due to the dreaded water ingress and it appears I caught it just in time, loom was damp so this has been dried out, ecu looks like it has been replaced and was sprayed up inside with wd40, all wiring and connectors checked, no corrossion or breaks, but the warning light still appears, it is also sparodic, sometimes it is fine and then for no apparent reason comes back on, still no lights out, anyone any comments or ideas and suggestions??? One suggestion I have had is that the dash instrument might be at fault, but this sounds a long expensive solution...
  3. Hi does anyone know if there is a sharks fin available for this model instead if the standard aerial, if so has anyone changed it?
  4. just had my shift solenoid replaced due to all lights coming on and getting intermittent selection of drive, cost just over £100 for solenoid plus extra for fitting
  5. since i had this warning come on and replaced the high level brake light unit, which was apparently defunct because it now works, i have had this warning come on repeatedly yet there are no lights out, and i have fiddled with the rear ones several times because i know that these can be a constant source of problems, but there is only one bulb that appears to be slightly loose in the holder, and after manouvering it sometimes works until the car hits a pothole then the warning comes on again, any solutions anyone? any idea how much a pair of replacement rear bulb holders will be?
  6. found out how to change the light, the only way is to get at it from inside the boot, two clips and manouiver it out of the cavity area, replacement the opposite way, a bit of a difficult job if like me, i can get in the boot but not easy getting out, but the only way, the rear parcel shelf does not come off
  7. does anyone know how you change the high level rear brake light unit please?
  8. hi, does anyone know if you can obtain wide steel wheels for the old superb, i fancy having a set in black for the euro look?
  9. a couple of pics of my low mileage motor, unfortunately it needs a new starter motor, but hey ho....
  10. Hi will upload some pics when i collect the car next weekend
  11. Just bought it, 12226 miles genuine, still smells like a new car. booked in for full service, belts, tensioners and now water pump thanks
  12. Hi, I have just come across a 2.5 v6 tdi of 2003 reg, that has only got genuine 12000 on the clock. Do the timing belts deteriorate with use or age? If it is fully serviced regularly what problems may occur due to age, when using for high mileage ie: 2500 a month? any comments from people? this just happens to be the sister car of the one i run at present and it is in immaculate condition all round as far as i can tell
  13. does the 2.5 v6 tdi have the same pump as the infamous 2.0 version? \in experienced views if \i have had the red warning light flash on a couple of times but now does not show is this a warning to change or has the damage been done because my local garage who i use and trust is 30 mls away from my home?
  14. yes the red warning light, posssible cause?? 2.5 v6 tdi - never had any symptoms like this before, but just had a full diagnostics run because of the ongoing saga of the emmissions workshop light coming on at irregular intervals
  15. Hi, just had oil warning light come on, saying stop motor, check oil, so did that, iol level full, should be only had it serviced a couple of weeks ago but they did not reset the service light, so i did that yesterday then later the light came on, coincidence??
  16. Hi all, sorry to go over this topic yet again, i know there have been numerous threads discussing this but i still have the problem and it is driving me to distraction to the point where i am considering getting rid of the car because of the problem. I know for a fact that my problem is temperature related, not engine temp but "ambient" temp, when the ambient goes over 21 deg i get the emmissions workshop light on, when the temp drops to below 21 deg the system clears and seems to reset itself. I have done all the checks, changed all the relevant sensors, cleaned out the egr a couple of times and cleaned out everything else when i inadvertantly miss fuelled the car, since then it has gone like a rocket and been verry good on fuel, but this damned emmissios workshop is still there, so please someone, there must have been something that i have missed. the only sensor i have not changed is the actual one that sensors the outside temp, but how can that effect the emmissions control??
  17. Hi, I have a pair of 'climair' deflectors fitted to the front windows, i like them because you can have the window down so far and still be comfortable. easily found online.
  18. thanks for the info, i take it it is just press to shut off and the system auto resets every time you lock the car?
  19. I have just noticed today, after all this time, there is a button on the drivers door pillar down by the seat squab, it has an indicator of a car outline with what I presume is supposed to indicate the ultra sonic sensors inside the car. My question is it will push in to simulate a push button switch, but not much seems to happen. When the ignition is turned on the light on the button goes out, fine, but switching it again seems to do nothing. Presumeably this is to switch on and off the ultra sonics, but how do you know wether they are on or not, or has this button some other function? thanks Dobie
  20. Hi, I have had same problems with mine, replaced all the sensors with afteer market unit and disabled the factory fitted control unit, no more parking sensor problems
  21. well it has been over two weeks since i mis-fuelled my car and whether or not it is my imagination but it seems to be running better than it ever has. i have had a problem with emmissions service and tracked it down to the egr valve, tried cleaning it out and the car responded with slightly better performance and no more light, but now it goes like a rocket sled so maybe i have been lucky and i will continue top monitor the performance for a while longer.
  22. Thanks for the info rotodiesel, is the vp44 pump common for the superb engines or is it different for the v6 2.5 tdi which mine is?
  23. Hi, say hello to a dumbnuts, guess who just mis-fuelled his car???? I do not know what i was thinking about or why i checked when filling, but i ended up putting 7 litres of unleaded into a half full tank. i had to continue my journey so i brimmed the tank with diesel and then did a 200 mile journey and brimmed the tank again. during the trip the car never showed any signs of lack of performance or even missing a beat. i am now changing the fuel filter just to hopefully stop any dirt from the tank, but i do not know what else to check or how, any advice would be welcome and name calling is totally acceptable... dobie
  24. hi, i have had the same problem with the rear parking sensors on my 53 plate superb, so when my car was in for a service with my local mechanic, he fitted a new aftermarket set of rear sensors, into the original holes, plus a front set, complete with switch, all fitted and working for just over £200, for me a good deal i think because i do not do my own repairs, but i am well satisfied with the result
  25. Hi, my drivers seat memory buttins have started playing up, they work intermittently, the seat motors work on the manual settings, but memory is hit and miss, any ideas please? could this problem be linked with the dreaded water ingress that i have not had but seem to have some of the problems associated with it.
