  1. I've got the same model What you need is this Steel spare wheel 6.5J X 16H2 ET50 Vag part No 1KO 601 027K This is what came with mine as the full size spare and tyre as you quoted
  2. Hi Guys, My FL air con radiator is peppered with stone hits. I was going to fit a mesh grill behind the lower centre plastic grill in the bumper. Going to use a close mesh to prevent further damage. 2 questions, can I remove the centre grill without taking off the bumper. If not is the bumper easy to remove,(a guide where the fasteners are would be good.)
  3. Hi Folks, Puddle lights on the mirrors, next to the LED indicator unit aren't working, Checked the bulbs with multimeter and they are OK, only other thought is fuse, no mention of what fuse in handbook, anyone got any ideas??
  4. I bought an Elegance estate in this colour. Really pleased with it, hides the dirt well. It changes shade in certain lights, sometimes looks silver, sometimes blue, and other times can look lke a grey shade. Recommend the colour, suiits the car well.
  5. Thanks, looks like this is one for a hatcback then,
  6. Bought a Skoda Octava dog grill on Ebay, top brackets hook onto rear seat belt anchors in the "C" pillar and then screw into the grill. FL estate the rear belts come from panel beneath the boot cover with no anchor on the "C" pillar. Anyone know how the new FL grill fits? Can I customise the grill I have to fit, (can weld it f needed) Just need to know how latest dog grill fits.
  7. ASDA just now are doing Mobil 1 ESP 5w/30 507.00 spec oil. 5 Litres for £36
  8. Looking at previous post, shows how to mount tow bar etc, I would be tempted to mount the tow ball, looks just a methodical work through of bolting on, would buy proper can bus kit so no scotch locks, run cable to fuse box, and take car to veh electrician, probably take £30 max for him to do a 2 min job. Most of the quotes will be for labour at £50+ an hour for easy DIY work.
  9. My eyes are fine, the sticker only says this fuel now contains 7% biodiesel...Time to add Millers??
  10. Was at Local SHELL station filling the misus car on petrol. New big sticker on the pump stating SHELL diesel now contains 7% biodiesel. How safe is this in my 105PD Octy??
  11. Me too, 6 week old elegance, missus hit a fold down parking post, dented door £400 quote repair, so insurance job, got a smart car in meantime, got to be the most mis named car in history feels every crack in the road, how I miss the comfort of my Octy.
  12. Was reading on another forum about special procedures to change a battery on a can bus Citroen, (turn off wait 3 mins, etc etc). As the Octavia is can bus is there any special routine for changing battery, to stop faults showing.
  13. Hi Folks, first of all, best wishes for the season to all the posters, and thanks for your interesting posted information. The roads here were terrible last night. In central Scotland very little snow, but heavy ice everywhere and no grit on the road. Really slippy could hardly walk on it. No sign of council gritters. Good news was that Octavia drove very well, oviously helped by FWD, and a big heavy diesel engine over the wheels, when slipped TCS kicked in really easy to use in these terrible conditions. I bet the scout with M&S tyres would be almost unstoppable.
  14. New Octavia is near so asked the saleman to have DRL's activated and auto locking enabled. Blank stare. Can any of the techs give me the codings for the dealer so when he says DUH, I can tell him the coding and to get it done pronto. I think it's a hex code? Thanks guys
  15. LOL's no prize, just a big thanks for posting a reply, I suspect there might be bigger numbers out there. All the best.
  16. I've got a Roomster on loan, checked the oil after sitting a few hours, was at half level, was going to top it up, left it overnight and dipped it cold, was at max level. I would dip it after an overnight to let all the oil drop into the sump
  17. Probably a good one for Skippy41, and other taxi users. Who's Octavia has the biggest mileage? What age is it? What major repairs has it had? includes colleagues motors, but no boasting please. Have seen these at auction with 200k plus mileage and still looking fit inside and out.
  18. If it's a newer 105PD engine it should be 507.0 spec oil 5w/30 not 40 which was an older spec. Ask them exactly what it is and check the spec yourself, I don't think 30-40 spec would make any difference to noise level.
  19. Looks much the same as the Sealey should do fine.
  20. Bought one of these to do the rear pads on my Galaxy, which is all VAG parts, apart from the engine. Should fit, and makes pushing in the caliper soooooo easy, no risk of damage to seals or such, definately worth having, will pay for it's self first time you use it. They also do a version for "normal" push in calipers, again very good. Recommended
  21. What's the best set up for new FL? Asking for fog light DRL's to be enabled. Nearside rear fog light to be enabled. Is it worth anti-hijack to be enabled, don't want wallys jumping in at the lights looking for a taxi. Variable service. Disable seatbelt chime. Anything else worth having?
  22. Latest news build week 44, should arrive early November, lots better than February
  23. Took the jump and bought my first brand new car in 21 years!! It is an Octavia II with the 105 PD engine. I'm looking for a reader so if any problems emerge I can plug it in and hopefully see the problem, and not have a dealer pull the wool over my eyes. I don''t need the full VAG com, I don't want to monkey about with any settings, in case I disable the whole car. So looking for a system just to look and diagnose problems, clear the odd code and clear the cel if needed.
