  1. Hi, Panic over despite me using batteries in the fobs that said expired in another 3 years I bought some new ones and was then able to sync the keys!
  2. Hi All, both keys were working fine although car said battery was low in one key. Changed the battery which unlocked the car but would not lock it. Tried to sync the key by pressing button on the fob then using key quickly to unlock the vehicle, all that then happened was the alarm went off and car said key not recognised. Tried spare key which worked fine yesterday, exactly the same result. Help!
  3. Hi All, My other half has a 65 plate 1.4 TDI SEL Manual Fabia. She rang me this evening to say every time she depressed the clutch there was a bad rattling noise. She described it as "Rumbling like a ping pong ball been shaken in a box" lol Any ideas what it could be. She stopped in a layby to call me I told her to start and depress clutch while still no noise, she then tried to drive off and again no noise. She drove for another 15 miles without it happening again. Just wondered what it could have been. Cheers Wayne
  4. Hi All, Updating Company car soon, been stuck with a 62 plate Passat Sport tdi 140 for last year, after looking at all other marques I've come back to Skoda, I had a Octi VRS Tdi 12 plate as my private car 3 years ago and did like it. Skoda seem to give the best value but I'm unsure which one to go for. I have a budget around £33k, I will be doing a lot of miles 35-40k a year. My backs not the best and will need a DSG gearbox. Also ideally need supportive seats. God I'm getting old!!! My options are a heavily spec'd Octi VRS TDI DSG with Dynamic chassis, etc. etc., a Superb SEL or Sportline 190 DSG or a Kodiaq 150 DSG SEL. Know the Kodiaq will be a completely different drive but I used to have Discovery's so do like the high driving position. I wonder how a Superb with Dynamic Chassis control compares to an Octavia VRS!! Not yet been able to have a test drive in any yet but just thought I'd get peoples opinions. Been 3 years since I've been on here so good to be back!! Look forward to your advice!! Hewey
  5. Hi All, Just purchased a lovely 2012 Octi VRS in Blue, only problem is previous owner seems to of liked the curbs a bit too much!! Going to get them all Refurb'd thinking of staying with normal Silver colour, purely as think when I sell it in 10 months ( never keep cars long due to mileage I do ) it will look better standard. Am open to colour suggestions though but don't like black! Any opinions welcome along with pics if possible!
  6. Hi All, Just wondered to what extent a tyre needs to be damaged on the sidewall to fail an MOT. I'd of thought virtually any damage would constitue a failure. Cheers Hewey
  7. Lol.. Woops meant to put Duplicate Post. Damm iPad spell checker!!

  10. Hi All, Having been away from Skoda for 2.5 years I'm going to look at a 2012 Octavia VRS TDI this weekend. It's only got 28,000 Miles and is a Part-Ex going into a Main Dealer. Anything I should be looking out for? Cheers Hewey
  11. SOLD to TEZ-VRS. Been a fantastic car to me hope he enjoys it, sure he will.
  12. Yeh I will see. Had quite a bit of interest on it since putting it on ebay on Thursday, would like to sell it as is to save me paying out to get the bits taken off, even though I know I would make on doing it.
  13. Yep, I thought that too, chap contacted me via the Ebay ad. I say he's a dealer as he's got about 10 cars for sale on there at present up to £13k. Maybe he wants it for himself as cant imagine he would make a killing on it selling it on.
  14. Hi Tez, I made sure Timing Belt, Waterpump and Tensioners were done by Skoda dealer when I purchased it. Clutch is fine no slipping at all, always driven sensibly since remap, spoke to a lot of tuners and read lots of feedback prior to getting the remap done, its a very smooth map not spikey like some. Think most will tell you that the Shark Performance map is one of the more clutch friendly ones, Ben there was great and I specifically asked him to be conservative on it so not to strain other components. Back doors don't leak as far as I am aware, carpets all dry. As for Extra's, don't think it has anything over and above the normal. I have fitted a Sony Bluetooth, MP3/USB Headunit which I am going to take out (If I can find the original since moving house!!!). Rgds Wayne
