  1. Push fit. Little plastic connectors and corresponding holes in bumper.
  2. Yes it's as good as Octavia size really. Such a shame they offer lower spec I really don't understand why the Spaceback gets the additional spec and the rapid doesn't. A MFSW will cost you £100-150 and I imagine a garage will fit and code it for you for probably around the same. Cruise can also be retrofitted. Sat nav unit can be bought on eBay and fitted yourself but the tricky bits are locating the antenna and DAB aerial. All feasible upgrades and l gives you a bit of a project. I'm upgding my MFSW to a flat bottom VRS one soon and will be selling the old one so watch this space.
  3. Yes if we are just talking about the boot capacity alone it is approx 415L v 550L. For me personally 415L is ample given its a hatch with folding seat for the times more space may be needed, but we all have different priorities and needs. For me better spec and a half decent boot size was a no brainer. I still wouldn't say the Rapid Spaceback is a much smaller car though. It's the same car with a smaller boot.
  4. I've owned both. I can say that the Spaceback does have a slightly smaller boot but it still has a decent sized boot. To say that the Spaceback is a 'much smaller' car isn't true.
  5. VW general rule is 75k or 5 years however this can differ dependent on engine.
  6. Or just go for the Spaceback which has a much better spec. That was chief amongst my reasoning,.
  7. Looks great. What springs did you go for?
  8. Still available? Are they black or silver? Any pics?
  9. Sorry can't help with the part number but I've had a similar issue ( hole too large) and I just used a rivet to secure the number plate. It's an ok solution if you don't need to remove your plate often. Or easier still, sticky pads.
  10. Hi Delberthot, I have a vinyl wrapped one but now I want a sparkly one! Is there a particular time of year superskoda have these sales or is it just a case of keep checking the site?
  11. Thanks for all the very helpful responses. I have now put a deposit down on a Rapid Spaceback Sport 1.2TSI so will be jumping over to the Rapid Forum. The clincher was the extra space and options (cruise/climate) for roughly same price tag.
  12. Hi all, im back in this forum after selling my last Rapid a few years back. I just put a deposit down on a Race Blue Spaceback SE Sport at Smiths Renault Peterborough. I chose it because its has the lowering kit fitted and has been remapped to stage 1 and fitted with the black grille surround which are all the things that I would have got done anyway so I was very happy with my find. Just wondering if the previous owner may be knocking around this forum? Reg is HY66 ZP*
  13. Very nice, looks great in Candy White
  14. Thanks Rob, very useful. I'm still hunting, not many on the market! I think I would like to go for a silver or grey one however the blue does look mighty impressive. Race blue, classic skoda vrs look. nice mate.
  15. Thanks guys, I'm pretty dead set on the Monte Carlo and also I wont be buying brand new im after a 16 plate I think. Any opinions on the 1.2 TSI? or anything else to look out for? I notice they don't have cruise control?
  16. Hi after a brief spell away from Skoda (Kia Sportage, sorry) i'm planning to come back in to the fold and I am currently shopping around for a nice 2016ish Monte Carlo Estate (probably petrol). Does anyone have any reviews, opinions or things to be on the look out for? Many thanks in advance, Bill
  17. Nope not true, no effect on credit etc and can you imagine going into a dealership and then saying oh no we aren't going make this sale as it says here you handed back a previous car. Please keep your thousands of pounds.. I can't!
  18. Most people don't know about the voluntary termination clause in the finance agreement. Bottom line is u can hand the car in and walk away (regardless of mileage!) once 50% of the finance is paid off so don't get ripped off my low ball PX prices. hand the car back and negotiate a better discount on your next car.
  19. When I'm allowed to drive it! Mrs VRSbilly has taken a shine to the new motor.....
  20. After almost 3 years of ownership (and having had Skodas for my last 4 cars) I have said goodbye to the Rapid Sport and Skoda. I handed it back to the finance company under the Voluntary Withdrawal condition on the finance contract as the monstrous depreciation meant it was worth around 2.5k less than I owed even after almost 3 years of a 3.5 year PCP. This made PXing impossible without being massively out of pocket. I have really enjoyed ownership however the Skoda USP has always been VW quality at a bargain price however this no longer seems to be the case, I looked at replacing it with for example an Octy but the prices just aren't competitive anymore and the RRPs now seem to be approx the same as the equivalent VW, so why not just buy a VW and get the latest tech?? Anyway, I have took the plunge and opted for a Kia as they seem to have filled the gap in the market for decent spec and build quality at a very reasonable price for those who don't care what badge is on the front of their car. I will still be frequenting Briskoda though as its a great motoring forum...
  21. Nice car that. Sitting very high though....Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. I like the smaller plate size. Didn't realise that was legal. Very nice...
