  2. Car now has 12 months test with 2 advisories one on a rear tyre and one on the rear pads
  3. Yep it's mega cheap, just needs a bit of tlc and I know whoever buys it won't be disappointed and I'd prefer it to go to someone on here
  4. the time has come to part with the octy and thought I'd put an ad on here before anywhere in the hope it'll go to a good home. bit of background on the car I bought it a year ago as a trade sale with a throttle pedal fault which was traced back to a split wire. since then its been a fantastic car and has never let me down, its got 97K on the clock but may go up slightly whilst its still in use. the car was taxed at the beginning of this month for 6 months and will be MOT'd this week for the new owner. I'm going to be totally honest about the car because I am a regular on the site and generally find the members on here decent people who I have had regular dealings with. this car is not a showroom model and will reflect in the price the bonnet has a slight dent right at the front, couple of the alloys are kerbed and it does have the odd scratch here and there. there is little service history with the car I do have some receipts from what I've spent on it including an oil and filter change a couple of months ago, the rest you may be able to retrieve from Skoda themselves I don't know so take that as you will. the car did have its timing belt done in November 2011. as with any used car it does have a couple of faults that I know about the engine management light appears every few weeks and keeps throwing up the fuel pressure fault which is fairly common amongst the tfsi's, a quick search on here will give you a bit more info could be the pump follower but could be one of the sensors but i'm just being totally honest rather than having the light turned off and selling it, and on a quick look round the car the rear tyres are getting ready. there are no more faults that I'm aware of but as I said its getting tested this week so any other faults will show up and obviously any failures sorted. this will make somebody a cheap car with a little tlc. if anyone would like anymore photos drop me your email and I'll get a load across to you. if I remember anything else i'll drop it on here, all in all a decent car but I've just bought a mk5 gti with the dsg box and in all honesty I prefer it to the octy so its got to go. price is £3000 which pretty much makes this the cheapest one around and no that isn't open to negotiation that's what I want for it. car is located in chesterfield, Derbyshire any questions give me a shout
  5. i'd have to agree with that, you could have two near identical cars but theres every chance ones just a bad one, you can only do so much homework on a car and take an educated decision but at the end of the day buying a used car always will be a lottery, if you get a good one then great but there will always be a bad one, the mrs is running a beetle with 180K on the clock and its never missed a beat, but ive had a couple of low milers that have been dogs
  6. the cars an 07 2.0tfsi, spoke to a master tech yesterday and he said he had the same fault and it was a broken wire behind the battery area
  7. yeh i did think it may be the used pedal but in theory whats the chances of both being duff, where does the other end plug in? was thinking it may be a throttle body problem
  8. yeh i've looked at that cant see any breaks in the wiring though
  9. bought a mk2 vrs at the weekend having had numerous mk1's and the epc and engine management light is illuminated, car feels like its in limp mode it doesnt appear to boost at all, scanned the car with vagcom and its come up with the above fault code, i manage a breakers yard so i've replaced the pedal tonight but the fault code remains and everytime i erase it it reappears within a matter of seconds, vagcom reads 008482-accelerator position sensor G79 P2122-002 signal too low freeze frame fault status 01100010 fault priority 0 fault frequency 1 mileage 149098km time indication 0 date 2000.00.00 time 22.06.46 any ideas greatly appreciated
  10. i'll have to have a gander later see if i can see any loose wires, i've got a spare alternator for it in the garage, just been out in it and the engine management light is still on but the other two have gone
  11. on my way to work today and the engine management light came on, 10 mins later the abs light and then the traction control light came on, cant get it plugged in till tomorrow anyone got any ideas what it might be? seems strange as the car is driving fine and they all came on within a short space of time
  12. yeh looks like i'm going to have to do some more digging, its just its exactly the same noise as before which is why i suspect it wasnt the tensioner at fault
  13. your right this doesnt have an idler pulley, not going to be a quick fix after all!
  14. enjoyed changing this last night only to start the car up and its still whining
  15. just a wanted to know if anyone knew of any corrida red octavias breaking i've done the usual rounds of ebay etc just a thought that somebody may have come across one in a local scrapyard, any help appreciated

  17. yeh i can see the tensioner jumping when running so i think its due a change, i guess taking it offs the easy part its putting it back on obviously with the belt having to be tensioned, does the tensioner slacken to allow the belt onto its roller?
