  1. From what I've read in a couple of motoring magazines, they expect the price of the new fabia vrs to be about 16k. Which puts it in between the Ibiza FR TSI and Ibiza Cupra TSI. Ian
  2. So far the only EA888 vRS' i've seen here in the uk have all been FL cars, but i'll keep an eye out at work for any pre-facelift cars with the EA888 fitted. Sorry for the thread hi-jack folks. Thanks Ian
  3. I thought when the interior facelift came out the CR diesel was available to order alongside the PD engine, but the EA113 engine was used until the exterior facelift came out - exterior facelift onwards the EA888 TSI engine (Badged TFSI here in the uk i believe) is used and the EA113 has been dropped by Skoda UK. Just my 2p, hope someone can correct me if i'm wrong. Thanks Ian
  4. its where its at apart from these stupid oil bonanzas every 5 minutes haha!

  5. If Sheffield TPS is where it's at, Lincoln TPS is next on the list :-) Hello to a fellow TPS employee, from a TPS employee lol

    Ian (Lincoln TPS)

  6. Hello. VAG means Volkswagen Automotive Group - which includes VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda as the main core brands, and a lot of the platforms and drivetrains (engines etc) are all shared between these 4. Other brands included in VAG are Lamborgini, Bently, Porsche, and the HGV brand Scania. Although not 100% sure if Scania is still in the group or not. : :S ECU remapping is a term used when the Engine ECU is "updated" with better software than what it came with from factory. Vehicles from factory are set to strict emissions laws and different quaility of fuels for lots of different countrys. Remapping the ECU can increase the performance of the engine and make it run better on the fairly high quaility of fuel we have of here - and still keep the engine within the reliability limits set from factory. If a car is poorly remapped it can also damage the engine or cause engine failure, so research is required to get the right one that suits you. If any of these details are wrong, some one please feel free to correct me Hope this helps Ian
  7. Welcome to the club Probably the closest meet for you would be the East Midlands Area one, at the Snipe, in Sutton in Ashfield, near mansfield. I would post you a link, but don't know how to yet, as i'm a newbie myself Ian
  8. Working my way round the new site....

  9. Not a 100% certian on this, will check with the lads at work tommorrow (work at a vw dealer, in parts) but isn't the block the same one used across the 105, 130, and 150 range of pd 1.9's? I think the only components governing the power are the turbo, intercooler, and injectors etc but will check for you. Got a nagging feeling in the back of my mind the 150 may have slightly stronger internals but not sure??? But if built right then the block should cope with 170bhp ish? Hope this helps, and will find out for sure tommorrow for you. Ian
  10. Hi folks. My parents are now the proud owners of an 08 plate Roomster Scout 1.9TDi 105. Great little car! But can anybody tell me why Skoda recommend W rated tyres for it? Aren't W tyres limited to about 160mph ish? Thats a bloomin quick Roomster! When it wants new tyres, would it be ok to stick slower rated tyres on it? W's are gonna be expensive. :thumbdwn: Thanks Ian
  11. Ah! I see thought i was a bit thick in asking lol thought it was a term meaning the colour of the engine cover, as in some models are different? Oops. Thanks Ian
  12. Thanks for all the info guys, much apprieciated I think theres definetly a case of being spoilt for choice on the tuning market Just another quick question, whats the term vanilla engine mean? Lol i probably sound a bit thick asking lol Thanks again Ian
  13. Hi everyone, was wondering if someone could help me? I know the 'which remap' question has been asked a million times but i'm struggling a little with what one to chose. I aim to be the proud owner of a Mk 2 octy vRS TFSI in the next month or so, and the first thing i will be getting is a remap. Of some sort. Superchips looks promising, (I like the idea of Bluefin) but i was wondering, is the figures they quote actually fairly accurate in the rolling road lottery  I'm basically after a 40 ish bhp increase with a good base for some further modifying when funds allow. Good reliabity is a must, as i do about 25k miles a year! I've heard good reports of Awesome GTi and Jabba and Revo. But does anyone have any idea which one might suit me best? Sorry to be a pain in the a**e folks Thanks in advance Ian
  14. Lol i get the feeling it will haunt me lol...... Sorry guys and gals Ian
  15. sorry for the earlier post, that's what happens when the mrs gets hold of the computer when she's had too much to drink. My apologies. Ian
