  1. Hey Andy, My mate sold one of these 6 months ago for £10,900. Exact same spec and mileage. I would have a scout around if your thinking of buying one. Very fast car, loadsa fun... but un-runnable by your average jo imho. He would stick £20 a day in regardless, and not get very far at'all.
  2. What car did a 4 page spread on the two head 2 head (dunno if its available online). The furby beat it in every category.
  3. Sorry, I thought you were reffering to the chap that started this thread. Hey I dont want to argue... I speak my mind, thats all. RCe
  4. Exactly! Thats my point. I would say their one and the same. Why is 'pikey' used to describe something cheap? (seriously, I never heard that one before) if '******' shouldn't be used to describe something black? Your right mate. As soon as I hear either of those words I think racist. You see, its all subjective. I have no problem with the use of any of the words mentioned in this thread. But that's prolly cos I am white and dont live in a caravan. But at the same time, I wouldn't dream of calling anyone a 'pikey' 'paki' or '******' and can see how words like that could really upset someone. Again, common courtesy. But evidently, I am the only one that thinks like this. So, as you were. RCe
  5. hey, it doesnt offend me. The title of the topic is "Why is it called a pikey mod". I just stuck my two penneth in. :P Im far from 'pc'... but manners, respect and common courtesy cost f'all where I come from. Im just waiting for the '******' mod thread. Remmeber... calling a black piece of plastic a '******' wont offend it, as it aint a person, thus dont have feelings... keep 'em coming! RCe
  6. ^^^ I agree. I used to srtruggle getting over 45 mpg on any kind of run. Soon as I hit 6.5k on teh clock... the mpg has shot up. Am now getting 55, where I was previously getting 45.
  7. Gypsies, Romanies & travellers have all been labelled as dirty filthy Pikeys, & they don't like being labelled as a minority group anymore. Using the word Pikey is no different today from the word Paki to describe someone of Asian origin. Whether they come from India, Sri Lanka, Afghaistan, etc. RCe
  8. I know this forum and its members are far from 'pc'... but you do realise calling someone a 'pikey', is no better than calling someone a '******' 'paki' or 'gypo'. RCe
  9. Thanks everyone! Very nice! Nah mate. But I saw one at lunch time, first one i'd ever seen... had a B3 private plate too. Dont mean to jump on the my furby thrased this, my furby thrashed that bandwagon... as I know what it is, and what it can do. I pulled up behind him at the lights before a long dual carriageway... and he booted it... honestly... he was not pulling away. Between about 80-90 (private road ofcourse) he got a car length or two infront but before that he wasn't stretching the gap. He was as surprised as I was. Now... take this as you will, no way do I think my car is faster than one of these beasts... skoda diesel? or bmw Alpina? Mmmm. But I was really impressed with how my little furby kept up... I was expecting him to dissapear in a cloud of dust. And yes, he definatly knew I was there, and yes.. he was very annoyed to not see my skoda badge dissapearing in his rear view mirror. Please... dont abuse me, tell me I have a slow car.. and im having a laugh... Oh yeah, I somehow managed this with neither pikey mod 1,2 or 3. So ner ne ner ner ner Was a very nice car tho! Best, RCe

  14. wtf? If the key is in your pocket say.. you just feel for where the small button that flicks the key out. The 'Lock' button is just bellow that. I have absolutly no problem finding my buttons, and pressing the right one. RCe
  15. Nice Guide Hellfire Nooooooooooooooo...
  16. Mmm VR6... hope it brings you as much joy as mine brought to me! Still miss the sound of that engine!
  17. Hi rsbspt, Yes, the wheels are from the Mk4 Golf GTi... and are fitted with 205/55/16 tyres. They are wider than the standard vRS wheels.. but i've been running them for about 3.5k now and they seem fine. Its been lowered on eibachs and is still on the standard shock setup. Wouldn't know about the speedo accuracy tbh mate, I have no way of testing it. Yeah its a comfier ride, I believe most Mk4's came with these tyres, and it handles superbly well. I dunno wether I would recommend you go down the same route with the wheels/tyres, I got them because they were brand new, and cheap.. I do think they look better than the standard ones and i'm sourcing centre caps for them atm. Their is a tiny amount of rubbing at full lock, but barely noticeable. You think they look alright? RCe
  18. Will wash it, and take a pic in the morning - weather permitting ofcourse! Also make it easier to wash/polish imo.
  19. With them off... I can take pics of my car tommorow if you'd like to see how it looks without 'em? RCe
  20. I am in the process of re-wiring my place atm. I have the sparky coming round monday. To save on labour, it is best to chase all the walls out, and cut your back boxes out yourself. I have even stuck the back boxes into the walls, so all he has to do is rip a few floor boards up upstairs, and feed all of the wires either down into the lounge and kitchen, or up into the bedrooms. I will be having 17 new socket, new lighting, and new switches. All set into the walls. Luckily, the spark is doing the job foc, which is a real bonus. A very good friend of mine, said I would be looking at around the 2k mark for the full job. Obviously, the whole house will need re-decorating. So to save cash, try and do as much of the prep work as possible. RCe
  21. 50 in 6th will guzzle diesel. I find the car struggles at 70 in 6th. I see far better consumption dropping back down to 5th. That said, the average on my trip comp is about 36-37 over the last 3k. I travel a 60 mile round trip to work each day, which mainly cmprises of motorway driving. I sometimes hit 46-48 on the way home. I never see 50. Maybe a I am doing something wrong aswell, but the economy is nothing to write home about imo. Only time you will get anything spectacular is on a 100 mile + trip imho. Unless you wear leather driving gloves, a flat cap and slippers - and are actually looking forward to being pensioned off. I must admit, I was expecting much more. RCe
