  1. Mine: A pair of Meridian DSP5000 Sony 28" CRT PS3
  2. I went to see this without knowing anything about the story at all (not even the trailer), and I really enjoyed it! It was fun, and engaging all the way. I thought that the acting was good too. Some said some fight scenes were too long, but I disagreed as the fight scenarios change quite frequently and well connected. I also recommend The Hurt Locker.
  3. All foreign students (non-English native speakers) has to pass an English test (International English Language | Home) in order to be accepted into one of the UK University. And most Universities provide additional English support, such as academic writing, to foreign students.
  4. It looks OK. But I don't like the on/off and eject buttons! I like my fat version's touch surface.
  5. The power steering might just need a new sensor (cheap fix IIRC), I replaced mine years ago (same problem), steering light never came back on. Good luck
  6. So, is your ABS and power steering working at all? About the ABS light, you might want to read this thread, which I contributed some time ago. http://briskoda.net/maintenance-performance/abs-pump-replacement/118934/
  7. I myself failed because of stopping for flashing amber. I know someone failed on not putting into neutral when stopped by a school crossing guard who was letting a group of school kids crossing the road. Position - my GF failed on stopped right behind a bus which was stopping for a bus stop, as a result not having enough space (or difficult) to overtake the bus when possible. During reverse corner/parking - the timing to look around is important. My GF failed (again) because of a slightly late look around check. (Both me and her instructor think she was hard done by that examiner on this one....) Don't forget shoulder check when move off! I also know some people failed on spatial, such as leaving too much room for the right then not enough room (i.e., too close) for left hand side. The examiner will try to do some chit chat, don't let that distract you! As gadgetman said, observation and planning are killer.
  8. Thanks for the head up! Me and my GF wanted to visit Harewood House ever since we moved to Leeds not long ago, but we thought the admission is too expensive (14 pounds per adult). Now it is 9 pounds for the VW Festival including access to the house seems petty good value for a fun day out.
  9. FTO, SMART ROADSTER, Cappuccino (If you can fit in one). Or a MK2 MR2, then put a v6 in it Woodsport - Toyota Engine Conversion Specialists
  10. Hope Massa speedy recovery. But I have a feeling that he might not able to return this season, specially now in season test is banned. I hope I am wrong.
  11. Is a game console, so make sure the one you buy has the game you want to play! Check out the existing and future exclusive titles on 360 and PS3. I have a PS3, as I want LBP and MGS4. HTH
  12. Martin Whitmarsh gave an interview to the media on Sunday morning, and I found one of the answer from Martin interesting. autosport.com - F1 News: Q & A with Martin Whitmarsh Another lie?
  13. I use DVD Decrypter and then use Auto GK. How to rip a DVD: A Tutorial — Elliott C. Back
  14. I have to confess that I was actually looking forward to see what would happen with the 'most wins' system. As I believe this would completely change the way that top teams plan their race strategies, and we might able to see some dirty tactics and first corner crashes!!
  15. yeah truly awesome, really looking forward to the collision part of the experiment. for those who haven't watched this yet:
  16. well, what can I say. I guess Lewis does deserve a penalty, if we follow the rule strictly. As Lewis should had followed Kimi for another corner before another move. However, Kimi's speed was so poor on that straight and then brake way too early for the following hairpin (T1), you can't blame Lewis to make that move. I think FIA should consider these points.
  17. I had 3 experiences with SCAN, the first one is a big order (for me) of CPU+mobo+RAM+ GPU, and then more RAM and a new HD. I am happy to report that I had no problem with them so far. And you get free standard 2-3 days delivery if you are a member of AV forum (and other forum I don't know). Go check their "today only" section, usually few quids cheaper. Check especially on Friday afternoon, when they will have most popular stuff (e.g. C2D, RAM, NVIDIA etc) on the list. Louis
  18. Hi, ***It could be just a fuse (on top of battery) false, so please check this first. And read on for my story*** I had similar problem on my 1.4 AUB. No ABS, ABS light stay on. I brought it to a dealer, and their initial check comes back as ABS unit false. They quoted me ~£1100 part + labor(~1 hour). The part is expensive, because the whole unit comes with a pump and a controller module. Although (according to my internet research) 99% of ABS fail points to the controller module, you cannot just order the controller alone. Some guys (go search ebay or google search BAA) offer to rebuild your own ABS controller for about 100 pounds. The idea is that you remove the ABS controller while leave the pump intact in your car, then send the controller to them to rebuild. The car should still drivable, but I have to stress the point that by doing so you void your MOT (and many other things) at your own risk. However it is not so easy on fabia anyway, because the ABS is located right next to engine bay's side wall with the controller facing the wall. My local dealer even told me the whole unit has to come off anyway in order to just replace the controller, so it will result re breeding the brake system afterward (but I am not 100% convinced on this). Anyhow it is not quite a DIY job for me. My internet research also revealed that sometimes it is just a fuse problem, but diagnose read out won't able to pick this up and gives the same false code as ABS unit false. So I visually checked mine, and looked fine to me. So I decided to get a used part from a break yard, which cost me £275. And then I got a appointment with my local dealer to get it replaced. Guess what, dealer finally found out that it is just a fuse cracked before their attempt to replace the ABS!!! They are very sorry about they didn't pick this up initially, and said the diagnose procedure has been changed after my initial check 10 months ago, otherwise the new procedure can pick this up (again, not 100% convinced). But I guess they could replace my ABS without telling me the truth and still charge me more on labor, so I can't be too up sad about the fact that I spent £275 more in this case. I don't know whether my case would help you, but I hope you can get your car's ABS fixed as soon as possible. Best wishes Louis
  19. I am a big fan of DMC series, I even almost bought a PS3 just to play DMC4. But I waited and waited for the PC version, and I played the demo over and over again. Needless to say, I bought the game as soon as it hit the shelf. I have finished the Devil Hunter (normal) mode, and I am now on Legendary Dark Knight mode which fill the screen with 10x number of foes. It is ace. The feeling that when you got the Max-Act right (rarely, lol) is amazing!!! It play reasonably good on my 7600GT, now I want a 8800GTX + a 24' High Res LCD just to play this game. Louis
  20. enjoyed it. Best moment is Doctor looks at Alex's diary, try to resist not to read it.
  21. In fact, it is because I am a full time international student, with no full-time income, and no references. My contract is based on paying 6 months rent in advance every 6 months. So I don't know does it make any different... The thing is I renewed the contract once last year with another AST, but they didn't charge me any admin fees at all (rent un-change). Now they think they should, because the rent goes up......just doesn't make sense to me. I signed my first AST contract 2 years ago, so the deposit is held by the agent initially. I did received some letters from them about the Tenancy Deposit Scheme...so I don't know if they still holding my deposit. But I guess I can have a go with them on this point. I checked my AST, I don't think it mentions that they can increase rent on annual basis or how much. But I think it might because my AST is 12 months, so they can do whatever they want after 12 months... Many thanks for your and others reply, I am now more clear about my position and my tenancy agreement.
  22. I have landlord's address. Maybe I can write to my landlord to check whether it is his idea to increase my rent... I renewed the contract once last year, the rental didn't went up, and they didn't charge me admin fee.
