Adaptive Cruise Control is standard. £685 gets you 'Travel Assist' which includes 'Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control' amongst a few other things. Agree though that £595 for the rear view camera is way too much.

I was quoted similar to what you paid by dealers at the time (about 5 years ago). Think they are a bit cheaper now though, on eBay.

Depends how cheap you want them. I got some genuine OEM rubber ones for my Mk3 from Superskoda for €40 (about £36) plus delivery.

Personally I would not trust the configurator. In my experience where there is a discrepancy between the configurator and the official price list it is usually the price list that is correct. I would download the latest price list from the Skoda website and go with that. Unfortunately the variable boot floor and electrically adjustable seats were standard for the SEL First Edition models, but not the 'regular' SEL models.

Not easy to tell for sure from the photo, but it looks like Velvet Red to me.

The £2k deposit contribution should definitely be achievable. But not all brokers can match Drive The Deal, so by that reasoning not all dealers will. It's been a while since I bought new from a dealer, but the last time I tried my local couldn't (or wouldn't) get within £1k of Drive The Deal.

Yes apparently there will be a manual gearbox for the 2.0 litre petrol. This combination is already available to order in the new VW Golf Gti.

Whether buying or leasing the last thing i'd be doing is risking my warranty on a new £30k+ car by mapping it. If others want to do that, fair enough but it's definitely something people should be doing without thinking about it first.

Exactly this. If you don't need a hybrid then you can save £3k by buying a petrol Octavia vRS. For anyone that wants a hybrid then the Superb has less power than the Octavia and is still £35k even with a discount.

Agree, bit surprised really. Thought it'd be a bit closer to price of the petrol vRS than it is. It'd take me quite a while to recoup the extra outlay from savings at the pump.

I don't know if this clears it up or not, from the press release "Hybrid mode also offers the option of charging the battery via recuperation or the engine whilst the car is moving. If the box marked ‘Auto’ in the central display is left unticked, the driver can set their own desired battery level. If the current charge is below the specified amount, the vehicle tops up the battery using the petrol engine and brake energy recovery until the desired mark is reached. If the current charge is higher than specified, the energy is used until the desired level is met, and this is then maintained. If ‘Auto’ is selected, the charging system operates completely autonomously. This means the control unit decides based on the current driving situation when to draw power from the battery and when to recharge it using recovered energy."

I did look online myself but couldn't find anything conclusive. But what I do know for sure is that the hybrid will give a longer range than a fully electric car, and will also give more mpg than the petrol vRS. It will also give lower emissions and therefore both company and private drivers will pay less tax. Of course it's a compromise, so there are downsides. The main ones being the extra weight and the higher ride height. But it will still have appeal to some people, perhaps those that previously had a diesel vRS. 🤷‍♂️
