  1. My automatic brake stick on as well, Skoda view is that nothing wrong as they did not see it happening and that I must have stalled the car.
  2. Windscreenman, It's a software or mutiplex issue. At times the car has a mind of its own. Automatic brake won't release, radio changes channel by its self. Seats over heating. I think the condensation and misting is down to the recirculation flaps closing. Skoda view was that it was either ,1) I had washed the car, 2) it was because I was playing football 30 minutes earlier, yes they did say this, 3) it was because of direct sunlight, well at 8:45 pm in Scotland during late November there is not much sun about. In the end I have accepted my dealer offer to buy the car back, but I have lost thousands, didn't mind losing the monthly payments, but deposit lost too. There was an offer of a good deal to buy another car of same spec, but it I took that as an insult. It is like me paying 3k to Skoda to fix the faults. Starting to think that I should now take this to a court. Sad as I said before over 15 years, 9 cars and spending about 100k great how they look after you in time of need.
  3. I have had a number of issues to the point I am talking to Skoda for compensation. As with the brake sticking on and the condensation / misting the car was becoming undrivable. Radio - various issues Columbus screen freezing Drivers Seat overheating with burning smell, then not working Heating not working Automatic handbrake not releasing Quality of sound via the speakers being shocking, sound being worse that a Dr Who Dalek Condensation - levels inside that results in water running down the inside of the windows, I had to stop the car and clear the windows, only the heated windscreen allowed me to see forward. Metical sound upon cold start, with petrol engine sometimes sounding like a diesel. After 15 years, 9 cars and about 100k in deals I have had enough and prepared to take it to court. Dealer has been great, but Skoda UK Customer Services are a joke, with the so what attitudes.
  4. Well sadly after 15 years and 9 cars it may be time to leave the Skoda marc. At the start nobody was driving a new Skoda as they had just been relaunched as a car manufacturer and I spent a lot of time beating the Skoda drum. Current car is a Superb 3 SEL, petrol 1.4ltr 150 ACT, with a number of factory fitted extras. First six months were great and loved the car, first Petrol in over 20 years but once I got use to it love it. Similar performance and MPG as my Superb 2 diesel 2ltr, 170 BHP which was a great car. From July software and / or multiplex issues started to appear which are intermittent so hard to diagnose. My local dealer whom I have bought the car from, have been great at helping throughout the past 6 months and are frustrated as myself. I have supplied photos and videos of the issues to help, but Skoda UK techincal does ask my dealer to update the software. I accept that I have a pup / lemon, but only my dealer is trying to help. Skoda UK don't seem to care unless I comment on Facebook to one of their post, then I get a call within 24 hours which basically saying to contact my dealer. So I now assume that Skoda UK only want to protect the PR image rather than keeping loyal customers. My dealer has offered a great deal to replace the car, but if am having to pay another deposit, I will be looking to see what else is out there. Seen some great deal advertise for and XF or an alfa, but don't want to leave Skoda, just want a reliable car that I paid for, but starting to feel like a divorce. The "well you did buy a Skoda" comments are starting to get to me. regards a sad Rufus
  5. press the Sat nav button twice or press view in the bottom menu
  6. Update from the dealer, whom has been great through this. Word from the factory is that they don't want the car to go anywhere and they might send someone over to inspect. A software update is due, but wont solve everything.
  7. Hi, Advise please I have had Skoda Fabia's, Octavias and Superbs for 15 years, 8 in total. Looked at other models but still bought Skoda, but starting to loose a bit of faith. Current car is the new mk111, SEL hatch Superb with a number of extras, 10 months old Into June started to loose signal with the DAB which was the start of the issues. Door trim came off, 2 attempt to fix and now fixed. Car is now back in the garage and has been for a week, just been told that it will be off road for longer, possible safety issue with driver seat over heating. Current list of issues 1) Looses DAB signal and will not find a signal unless I turn off engine and restart. I would expect to find black spots but i have driven journeys of over 30 miles in silence as a test and still no signal 2) Columbus screen freezes resulting in using the sat nav etc via the steering wheel commands or the Voice commands (not easy if you have a Scotch accent) 3) DAB switch channels on its own. 4) front door alignment, out at top, increase wind noise on motorway 5) Bad sound quality - sounds like metal mickey 6) Metallic grinding noise on cold start. This stops after about 3 seconds. no issue on stop / start or starting when engine is warmer. 7) Petrol engine sometimes sounds like my old diesel. 8) Poor heating 9) Loosing the connection to phone. This happens with my own, my wifes and my works phone so 3 different phones, makes and models. 10) Over heating drivers seat. Last week seat was getting warm with a slight smell of burning, never thought much of it, thought smell was outside as it was end of journey. After 30 minutes back in car and seat back on a setting 3. This time after 5 minutes seat getting hot and burning smell has returned. About a minute later burning smell getting stronger and the seat is almost unbearable to sit on. So quickly stop the car and get myself and son out. Short while later return to my journey with the seat switched off. Car was already booked in for points 1 to 4 so I reported it when dropping the car off. when driving to the dealer (about 25 miles) I re-tested the drivers seat on setting 3 again, but the heat performance was poor, only reached what I thought would be the temperature for setting 1. General heating was now very poor. Temp set to 29 but car still cold after 25 miles. Car was due to be picked up today after 1 week, but just been told that as the drivers seat was reported as a burning smell it is being treated as a safety issue is being kept for further investigation. So any advice guys on what may be wrong, I am thinking ECU for the electrical system. Kind of hoping that they will just replace the car.
  8. sorry dont know that as the SEL has the on baord sat nav. I was worried about the phone reception and the heated windscreen as in my duaghter corsa it is crap which i think may be due to the wires in the windscreen. it does worst if the windscreen is switch on. When I have phone from the superb it has been commented how clear the line is.
  9. My car has the heated windscreen and there is no lost reception. Before adding the windscreen as an extra I ask Skoda CS for confrimation which they did with the following reply I have discussed your comments with our Technical Support Team who advised that the phone reception works through the aerial; the signal for the mobile depends on which area you are driving through. If a portable satellite navigation unit is stuck to the front windscreen that will cause interference.
  10. Debadging could lead to a bit of confusion. I pick up my SEL last Tuesday, so it was only home in the drive during the darkness. One of my neighbours came over for a look on the Thursday night and his first comments was that he thought I was getting another Skoda and why did I switch to a BMW. He thought it was a 4 (or maybe 5) series!!!!! He was a bit surprised when I told him to look at the badge. Now that he said it I noticed a 4 series and the rear and the front bonnet shape (not grill) do look a bit alike, but Skoda is a 4 door most 4 series are 2 door
  11. All this misunderstanding on the week numbers is down the the difference in the european and american week numbers standards American works with the 1st January in week 1 European is the first week with 4 or more days on January is week 1. This means in Europe (until David changes it) week 1 started Monday 4th Jan, with today Thursday 14th Jan in week 2. In 2015 it was not an issue, but in 2016 Europe and American systems are out. If you look at Microsoft system they will tell you the american week numbers unless you set them correctly. A I work with a multi national company with plants in the states and the Far East (they work to the American system) it becomes an issue, so most of the time you are better to work to week beginning or ending
  12. David, tell your dealer to away and raffle is heid. I got both the owner Manual and the infotainment books free in a nice wee stitched folder.
  13. As a senior production planner with a large vehicle manufacturer. It looks like Skoda are working to a JIT system for the supply chain as most manufacturing do, but car manufacturers work to the tight stock levels sometimes only a day or a shift of stock on site. This would be back up by the delays to the car that have the more popular options chosen. This is also a result of the "choose your options" that Skoda and VW work too rather than the option package the other marks work too. It also looks like the the production schedules are batched, which will reduce "tooling" change over times (set-up in old money). After watching closely since my order was placed in September. It seems that a large number of estates were delivered to the UK in November with L & K vehicles late November early December. SEL seemed to be built early December and delivery to UK late December just before Christmas Skoda have been caught out with the high demand the the Supply chain is struggling to keep up. Option is buy other off the shelf from another make.
  14. Thanks Didrox, pick mine up on Tuesday, cant wait. 1.4tsi 150 ACT, blue sel withbsome extras. did the dealer issue advice for the running in
