I collected the new Octavia 1.4 TSI on Saturday - but still got the old one. It's a X reg 2001 Octavia 1.9 SLX TDI and just clocked up a happy 100,000 miles. (I didn't trade it in for a few reasons). Can anybody tell me the best way to move it on to a new happy home. I assume selling it privately would generate the best return but what would the other options bring ? Can you sell them to a second hand dealer or is sending it to auction the best bet ? Not sure what its worth now but a quick Glasses valuation should tell me that for a few pounds. Advice from anybody happy to help.

Octavia 1.4 TSI SE ordered end of Sept with a range of extras in Anthracite Grey and collected on Saturday. I estimate its taken about 9 weeks. Nice car and a lot of power for a little 1.4 Good Luck to those of you still waiting.

Variable boot floor - VRS LE Estate
Richardb replied to vrs442's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks - I did wonder and was never 100% convinced. But as a car novice anything is possible to me that's why i like this site, it helps me clarify the fact from the fiction. -
Anybody got any updated news on the VAT offer issue. (If a car arives this year then it's 15% if next year, unless Darling extends it, its 17.5%). I ordered mine just before the 1st Oct price rises:thumbup:. One dealer stated Skoda state max of 12 weeks delivery so Skoda will sort the extra 2.5% if it goes over the 12 weeks into next year:thumbup:. Another tells me that i would have the pay the additional 2.5%:thumbdwn:. Anybody know ?

Variable boot floor - VRS LE Estate

Just ordered variable boot floor in my new car. Don't know how earlier versions were fitted but one dealer i spoke to told me its expensive to have it retro fitted because it involves some welding work. Might be right or might be sales talk. Either way my wife insisted on it as she's not keen on the big lip to access the boot, so it was the first option on the list regardless. -
I'm looking to replace my old Octavia with a new one (Estate). But since the last purchase i now tow a small trailer on camping holidays (with bikes to be added next year). I'm not sure which Octavia to replace it with ? Will the 1.4 TSI tow ok or would i need the 1.8 tsi in the petrol ? or would the 1.6 CR Deisel be better ? Any suggestions ?
