  1. I had forgot I had posted this on here. Yes, a few things have changed since the last photos. It has had a set of purple vRS alloys on it, these have now been replaced with a set of 16" 5 spokes from a Roomster. I have also changed the door cards, so they now almost match the seats. I still have to get the rear spoiler painted and fitted. I also have a set of lowering springs and roof bars to fit. The stone grey from the rattle can isn't far off considering it was mixed at Motosave. A friend of mine has offered to repaint the GT spoiler, and the rear spoiler for me, so I'm hoping to get them done soon.
  2. Back in January a workmate decided to sell his 2003 Fabia Estate due to it developing a clutch problem resulting in no drive. He originally offered me it for £250, but after a couple of weeks this dropped to £125 as he wanted it off his drive. He only lived a couple of miles away, so I took my brother in law, and a tow rope, and set off in my Skoda Favorit Pick Up to tow it home. Cash was handed over, and I became the new owner. My original plan was to fix the clutch problem, and use it as a daily driver, due the MoT being due a few weeks later on my Pick Up, and it needing quite a bit of work. At first we thought it might have been a clutch slave cylinder fault as the seals had gone in it, so 1 was ordered from the local motor factors and fitted. We also fitted a clutch master cylinder at the same time, but the problem still remained, so I ordered a clutch kit, and over 3 days, I removed the gearbox, found the problem to be a collapsed/non existant release bearing, so I fitted the clutch kit, a job I hadn't done for a few years. Once everything was refitted, the engine started, 1st gear selected, and a quick drive and everything was fine. A couple of days later, the car was insured, taxed and on the road. I then started looking on Ebay for Fabia bits. I had always liked the look of the GT front spoiler, but couldn't find 1, apart from brand new, and I couldn't justify the cost of almost £190 for that, so I posted a wanted ad on 1 of the Fabia Facebook Groups. A couple of days later, a chap said he had 1 on a bumper in his shed, that I could have, complete for £100, so I asked for some photos. In the meantime I carried on looking through Ebay to see what else I could find, which resulted in me buying a rear roof spoiler, brand new for £19.99 including delivery. Payment was made and a couple of days later the roof spoiler arrived. I unpacked it and went outside to trial fit it. I still have to get around to painting it and fitting it. In the mean time I was still awaiting photos of the GT Spoiler/bumper on Facebook, so a comment was left to remind the chap about said photos. I continued looking through Ebay for other items, before moving on to other Facebook pages, where on 1 of the local car sales groups, I came across a set of alloy wheels, at a reasonable price, so a few messages were exchanged, a price agreed, and a trip to Scunthorpe arranged to collect. A couple of days later, I fitted the wheels, which are 16" 5 spoke VOTEX, also known as VW 'Rave', which I believe were a dealer option on Mk3 Golfs. I then started looking through the Briskoda Classifieds and came across an ad for some Seat Ibiza FR seats, realised I was friends on Facebook with the seller, sent a message via Facebook, and a few days later, another trip to Scunthorpe was made, and a set of FREE seats were collected. I cant understand why nobody bought them when they were for sale at £100, but they were even better now they were free. The following weekend these were fitted, and transformed the interior of the car. The following weekend, I had planned, with a friend, to head up to Cumbria, to watch the Malcolm Wilson Rally. Whilst up there, I got a Facebook message from the chap with the GT Spoiler/bumper. He had finally got around to getting it out of his shed. Upon inspection, he said it had got some damage, but if I still wanted it, I could have it for FREE, as long as I also took a vRS rear bumper and vRS back box as well, but they had to be collected the same weekend. As I was up in Cumbria, I said I would message him later to make arrangements. After the rally, I travelled down to Swallownest, near Sheffield, dropped my mate off, and messaged the chap with the spoiler for his address. I received this straight back, realised I was only 10 minutes away from him, so arranged to collect it whilst in the area. The following day, I decided to trial fit it to see how it looked. I was impressed with the look of it that I left it on for a week, before buying a can of spray paint, and painting it. It's not perfect, but it looks ok, and this is basically where I am up to right now with the car, in less than 2 months of ownership, and all in, I have spent less than £300 so far, including the purchase price of the car. Next on the agenda, is either some lowering springs, or coilovers, some roof bars, and a removable towbar, so if anyone has any of these items cheap, or FREE, please let me know.
  3. I'll take them if they will fit my Mk1 Fabia Estate.
  4. Yes it was. I would have been heading to the Skoda meet at RAF Waddington Viewing Enclosure.
  5. Are you a member of the Skoda Owners Club Facebook page? If you are, Barclay Hamer or Ron Makin will be the people to ask.
  6. It is very tidy for its age considering it has had 6 owners, and spent time on a farm. I've hopefully just bought a set of wheels to fit on it, and they look a bit different to the norm, i'm just waiting for the seller to get back to me. I've had a play in photoshop to see how they look, plus changed the colour of the truck, and lowered it slightly as well.
  7. Now this is a rare beast, According to the website, https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/ there are currently 17 Favorit Foreman II Pick Ups left, and I now own 2 of them. This latest 1 was found on Ebay. I wasn't looking for 1 at the time. I was looking for a van to replace my LDV Convoy which was written off a few weeks ago in an accident with a hired Volvo Estate driven by an American tourist. The claim was settled quickly as they admitted full responsibility, so my search for a replacement vehicle began. The search for another van didn't go well as I couldn't find anything suitable, so I decided to do a search for ALL VEHICLES within a 100 mile radius, and NEWLY LISTED. On the 2nd page was this Pick Up with a poorly written ad. It was on as a BUY IT NOW - BEST OFFER ad, so I made the owner an offer, which they declined. They came back with a counter offer, which I declined, but we met in the middle, and the deal was done. I made arrangements with my brother to go and collect the Pick Up on the Thursday just gone, as I had the day off work. I arranged a days insurance through the RAC along with Breakdown cover (Just In Case), sorted out some tax (the owner gave me the reference number from the new keeper slip), and we made the trip down into Norfolk to collect it. On arrival in Norfolk, we was greeted by the owner, who showed me around the truck, started the engine and opened the bonnet etc. After a few minutes checking it over, a wad of cash was handed over, the V5 was filled in, and I became the new owner. I was then handed a pile of paperwork, which included EVERY MoT certificate, as well as numerous receipts. In the glovebox was the service book and hand book. On looking through the service book, I found that it had FULL SERVICE HISTORY, the last entry being at 47k in 2004. Since then it has only covered an extra 7k, with only 1400 miles covered in the last 4 years. The drive home was completed effortlessly. There are a couple of little niggles, but nothing major. On to the photos. 1 from the Ebay ad. And these are from work on the Friday Next to the bosses 2015 Ford Ranger The Pick Up bed Under the bonnet The owner had this rare beast sat on the drive A 1984 Daihatsu F20 Since getting it home, I have removed the truckman top from the rear Plans are to lower it slightly, fit a set of alloys, tidy the bodywork up, and ENJOY.
  8. The thread is not dead, the car is not dead. It has been tucked away in the garage whilst I acquire the parts for it, and work will be commencing over the winter months
  9. Having no transport is doing my head in

  10. 7 cars turned up to a rather cold and breezy RAF Waddington Viewing Enclosure on Sunday. Thanks to those who turned up. The next date is set for Sunday 8th February 2015 at 1pm.
  11. Just to confirm, the next meet is planned for Saturday 10th January 2015 at 1pm at the Waddington Aircraft Viewing Enclosure (WAVE) again. The reason for it being on the 10th is due to the WAVE not reopening until Monday 5th January 2015 from their christmas break.

  13. It was a good afternoon with 8 cars ranging from a 1995 Favorit, a variety of facelift Felicia's and 3 Octavia's. The next meet is planned for the 10th January 2015, same time, same place.
  14. I'm pleased to see some interest in this meet, will hopefully be a good turn out. As has already been said, unfortunately the runway at RAF Waddington is currently being replaced, so not much activity there at present. Plans are mainly for a bit of a regular social get together, and to help a friend of mine, John Robinson, who runs the snack bar, get a bit of extra business through, what is currently a difficult time for him with very little aircraft activity at present.
  15. I am organising a monthly Skoda meet for owners in and around Lincolnshire. The meet will take place on the 1st Saturday of each month, at 1pm. The venue will be the RAF Waddington Viewing Enclosure (WAVE), situated on the A15 between Lincoln and Sleaford. It is fairly easy to find, being opposite RAF Waddington, and directly opposite Avro Vulcan XM607, the Vulcan that was successful in dropping bombs on the runway at Port Stanley during the Falklands Conflict. There is ample parking on site, as well as a snack bar and toilet. The snack bar is run by a friend of mine, who's business is currently struggling due to RAF Waddington being closed for runway resurfacing, and no 2015 airshow. I am hoping for a good turn out of Skoda's to make it a worthwhile monthly meet, and am inviting members of both Briskoda and the Skoda Owners Club. Basically, if you own a Skoda or several, you are more than welcome to come along.
  16. Try Motorhog at Doncaster, they were breaking a Favorit Blackline
  17. I spent a couple of hours on the Pick Up yesterday, removed the front bumper, headlights and grille, as well as the O/S/F wing. Unfortunately, the front wings are too far gone to re-use, there was not a lot left along the top where they bolt to the inner wing. The inner wing is solid apart from the hole in the photo. I will be giving the whole truck a good pressure wash over the weekend, mainly to remove the thousands of cobwebs that have attached themselves over the years, as well as giving it a good clean. From what i've seen so far of the underneath, all looks solid under there as well, but once cleaned up, it might reveal a few things. More updates to come soon.
  18. Was good to meet you as well Paul, and have a look around your stunning Favorit. What would you want for your wheels?
  19. I had known about this Skoda Pick Up for quite a few years, it originally belonged to Eric Cox, the guy who built numerous modified Skodas during the 80's/90's, and is probably best known for the Mid Mounted Fiat Twin Cam powered Skoda Rapid that was featured in Fast Car, Max Power as well as on Top Gear. He used it as a daily driver, and also for running in the engines of his race car. It was originally white, but Eric repainted it in a metalflake green. He eventually sold it in the early noughties, to a local engineering company, who repainted it white, (over the top of the green), they used it for a couple of years, before selling it to a friend of mine who had plans for it. Unfortunately he was too busy building and maintaining 2cv race cars, so the Pick Up got parked up, and sat untouched for several years, over which time I tried to buy it a few times. Eventually I got a text message saying it was available if I still wanted it, so a deal was done, and on Saturday, it was awaken from its slumber, and became my latest project. Here it is being moved for the first time in a couple of years. Once I got it home, I got a bucket of warm soapy water, and a stiff brush, and gave it a scrub to remove 10yrs of green slime. It needs a pair of front wings (I have 1), the sills are crusty, as is the rear tailgate and rear arches. The underneath looks remarkably solid, and it needs a replacement engine, but all in all, I think it is easily saveable. A thorough inspection is due this week to establish what is needed, and then work can start on returning it to the road.
