  1. Technician report says retrieved an AC system pressure too low related error code from Ecu, after AC service 225 retrieved refilled 550 gas, system remained in-operational, after further investigation tech reported lack of pressure build up in the AC system, would need to eliminate the AC compressor before any further investigation. What do you think - Should I take to a different garage maybe?
  2. Thanks for advice; My local inde garage have been checking VIN with ECP but cannot confirm match so risk is with me if I supply as you say. The ECP fitment details includes Compressor ID 6SEU14C and VIN From 1Z-4-000 001 and my VIN has 1Z5 in it and my part has 1KO 820 808A and 6SEU14C written on it so it should match imo. AC was tested in 2017 and compressor was not keeping charge after regass so replacement was advised back then. I only do short trips so I have lived with invonvenience but want it fixed now. Getting car serviced tomorrow so will talk to garage about it.
  3. Hi, Just been looking at compressors for my 2011 FL VRS TSI and I get 2 listed for my reg. I think the following one will fit but on checking with local inde garage they aren't so sure? https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Skoda_Octavia_2.0_2011/p/car-parts/air-conditioning1/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/car-compressor/?232440530&1&248835499bb754ed15c4c42153f41255f21db04f&000077 The other one listed is for a BWA engine and mines a CCZA. https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Skoda_Octavia_2.0_2011/p/car-parts/air-conditioning1/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/car-compressor/?232440252&1&817f4d48aca5f40a1608cdb6d3917f41798c3eeb&000077 Can anyone confirm if either of these will fit or should I look elsewhere? Many thanks
  4. I have just had an after market kit (originally fitted by Skoda Northampton back in 2013) which beeped with a nice load tone, similar to the original kit but with no display or leds, replaced by DF Crash repairs when they replaced my bumper and the new kit makes hardly any noise at all and has the speaker stuck on the wall carpet at the top of the boot. I took the parcel shelf out but it doesn't get any louder. I suppose its less annoying but I dread the day I have to rely on it in a noise airport carpark Anyone got any recommendations of recently available kits that make a decent sound?
  5. My heating stopped this time last year and it turned out the blower needed replacing - luckily I was still under extended warranty.
  6. I had the same shudder. Moving off on any small incline, on shifting to 2nd it shuddered. Skoda Bedford techie came out with me and knew it was the clutch pack as soon as it happened. They took the car in for some diagnostics then sent the whole report off for checking and confirmed it needed a new clutch pack. As the car was only at 10,000 miles and was just outside warrenty I ended up with manufacturers goodwill and had to pay the first £400. After complaining to SUK that this wasn't good enough given the mileage I managed to get a letter confirming the next service woul dbe covered by SUK. Car drives a lot better now and it seems to almost slip the clutch in slightly at times. Good luck with yours.
  7. I have 2 octavias and on one of them (vrs) the window seal seems to spread the water over the window when I wind it down and up rather than clearing it properly like it does on the other one. I reported this on the last service and they looked at it and lubricated everything but it is still an issue. Is this a known problem and how can it be fixed?
  8. 48 - Had an Octavia 1.8tsi dsg on sport suspension for 4 years now and love its handling so decided to add a VRs tsi this year for some extra fun journeys..
  9. I had to get my 59 plate DSG-7 clutch pack replaced after just 10,000 miles - juddered on change to 2nd every time if on an incline. Car was just outside of warrenty so they offered manufacturers good will. Cost me £400 after a bit of arguing I managed to get a free next service aswell.
  10. afaik - If you run your hand over the blocks they feel like a saw -_-_-_ when they should feel smooth ------- Both my Octavias suffer and I must get them hunter aligned sometime.
  11. Skoda UK/Retailer are not prepared to change the offer made but did say that following the repair I can go back to them for help towards the next service cost. I did point out that I would not want to keep the car knowing it will fail in the future and will be forced to sell the car before then. They did say these technical issues do occur with modern cars and so the full cost cannot be met as there is an element of wear and tear involved. This really is not good enough forcing us into accepting there faulty goods and charging us for their temporary repair.
  12. Not sure whats going on tbh - Skoda UK are waiting on the dealer to get back to them.
  13. Thanks for all your advice and suggestions. I contacted Skoda UK Customer services yesterday afternoon to try and get a better offer but they could not find any record of contact from the dealer so they took the details down again, raised a case and will be checking with the dealer. I should hear the outcome tomorrow.
