  1. it is quite sad, but have now said goodbye to my Furby vrs, we have been together for two years since new. But I sold my house, moved in with my girlfriend. Not that caused my to part with furby, but no it was a brazen hussey, in red, that caught my eye. Oh yes an orientel, has taken my heart. Its a Honda civic, 2.2 i-cdti, ex, and with the leather and panaramic roof. I just want to say good bye to all you lovely helpful, skoda owners on this site, one day i am sure i will return to the fold. After owning 3 furby's, 1.4 16v, 1.9 tdi, and lastly, vrs furby, all execelent, never let me down and a joy to drive. thanks to all on this site, it has been fun:)
  2. Right........ silly question I know, but never heard of that, take it I could buy it form Halfords or dealers?????????
  3. Well update.........friday 17 Nov, furby is back. piant work is fine, and all cleanable areas have been done. All the damping and filters have been chnaged. There is no smoke damage to the interior, well sealed car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However the smell of smoke form the engine is still there be it very slight. The only way to get rid of everything, is to strip it down to the bare components. This is not going to happen, no matter how I push. Still no one lost a life, and should be grateful for that. Thanks for everyones advice in this.............happy driving:)
  4. Ture, have spoken to local skoda dealer and he has said that the veh needs to have diags run. Have spoken to insurance and have an appointment with an independant inspector, to disscuss all this and hopefully get things put right.
  5. damage to car is all done on car insurance, and then garage on building and contents ect........
  6. you should see the clean the garage the insurance comonay sent it to, gave it. they cliamed it tooked them two days to clean. But when confronted by a very jet lagged and upset Furby driver, they didn't say a word. The wheels had not been removed, and somke still clunged to the spoke things!!!!!!!Prats, they may be named and shamed...............but not for now!!!!!!!!
  7. Yes all windows were closed, the drive is open from where the recovery towed the veh out engine was not started, heat damage is nill, just smoke, the garage is black, but Chemdry are dealing with that...
  8. Thanks, no there was no heat damage to the veh, the fire spread was way from mine but as the are conected mine acted as a vent for the smoke. Yes there is a pollen filter on the veh
  9. I have just had a fantactic trip to Westeren Australia, came back on the 6th Nov. On the 24 Oct there was a fire in the garage block, which my car lives in. Smoke damage to the whole of the veh. My parents who where looking after my house, contact the insurance campany, who had the the veh removed to a car company in Northampton ( they are not skoda, and will remain nameless at this time as there is a complaint going through). They have cleaned the car to a crap standard. I spend 6 hours cleaning it top to bottom, and use good stuff on it. However my main conceren is what potential damage has been done by the smoke to the engine, eg where has the smoke gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who can help, so i can get my insurance company to get Furby to a good skoda doctor to get checked out. SERIOUS COMENTS ONLY PLEASE AS THIS HAS TO SAY THE LEAST UPSET ME
  10. Thanks for that..........the lens i went for was the nikkor AF-5 DX 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED. i know it was expensive, but it is the same make as camera, and thought would play safe, more money than sense maybe??????. I have taken a few shoots with it, and it appears good, still think it will cme into its own in Austrailia..............just have to get a spare battery for the camera, but will get a Jessops own make one,
  11. Have had a Nikon D50 for a few months now, have the 18 to 55 mm lens and have just bought a 55 to 200mm lens. Have also got a UV and polarizing filter. Question, is it adviseable to use the UV filter at all times?????? I am off to Westeren Austraila, end of October for 3 week tour...........any skoda's in oz?????????????????? one pic of the cat........well why not
  12. Hi try looking on the door, drivers or passenger which ever side you found them, on door which has the locking device, you will see two holes they come from there, mine came off today caught with my nail, dont ask, but just push back in, well thats if i am thinking of the same ones......
  13. when I changed my 05 plate over to it's personal plate, they issued a nex tax disc, whith the new reg number on it, at the time of getting the new disc at the vehicle registration office in northampton. the guy just asked if i had the new plates already made for the vehicle, said yes, and was told to get them on the vehicle as soon as possible. He did not give any idecation of time scale. However it is an offence to display a tax disc which does not bear the registration mark of the vehicle, beleive that the had the vehicle been checked by police or similar a CLE26 would of been placed on the vehicle, repoting it for that offence. Lastly, phew! a friend of mine changed there's over and they were told they had 12 hours to place the correct registration mark on the vehicle.............
  14. Oh thats nice.............very deep shine on that one......ummmmmmmmm shineyyyyyyyyy
