  1. Hi Giant *waves* I just spent £250 on getting mine through its MOT (tyre, wheel bearing and some front suspension work). There are bits I can do myself, but I don't have space or tools to do anything like that so it's cost me about what the car is worth. But like I say, it has sentimental value and it was a gift anyway, so it's cost me very little in the 18 months I've owned it. Was in the street putting the battery back in, dressed in office clothes with my head under the bonnet when a chap pulled up alongside me asking if I had major trouble.. "nope, just refitting the battery now it's charged" "Oh.. right... thought you might need a hand love.. you sure about that?" Heh, nice of him to ask!
  2. Sadly I don't have the original service book.. ah well, will try the chassis number option, thank you. I can't see anyone on the VAG-COM list near me, unless anyone knows differently - I am in Worcester. Other than that, I had better get it reset by a dealer cos otherwise I won't know if the airbag itself is ever faulty! Thanks so much for your advice, I am very pleased to have stumbled upon these forums - It's a beaten up old car with a fair few miles on the clock, but "Sherman" has sentimental value
  3. I sympathise - someone broke into my Felicia last month (along with 3 other cars in my road). Passenger door totally wrecked - am holding out for one to come into my local scrappy. Why can't they just break a window instead of bending the bloody door in half? I'd rather replace glass than a whole frickin' door. I actually heard them at it (I was in bed at the time) and yelled at them out of the window. Dunno what scared them off - me yelling at them, or the sight of me in the window partially naked..!!
  4. Hi all. First post so be gentle My slightly battered old Felicia was broken into recently. I'm a learner driver (I'm trying!) so it doesn't get a lot of use and was sitting outside my house with a flat battery at the time - remiss of me, I know. Now that I've charged the battery, the airbag light is on. I don't know if this is due to the battery having been flat or due to the break-in (they bent the passenger side door almost in half to nick the stereo, but I disturbed them halfway through). Can the light be reset, do I need a main dealer to do it, and how much should I expect to pay? Also, cheeky I know, but how can I find out the paint code for it? The sticker under the bonnet has torn in half so I can't read it - it's dark metallic green. Any help you can offer is very much appreciated.
