  1. Hey guys, just trying to confirm what i think is the problem. i have a 2001 skoda fabia 1.4 8v classic and everyso often when i go to turn the ignition there is a clink sound. was not sure what it was at first but after a while i just gave the starter motor a bash and hey presto it works! But im selling the car now and i want to repair for the chap who wants it (he says he's not to bothered but im fussy). Which starter motor do i need as theres a couple of diferent models. Cheers in advance guys
  2. sweet ive ordered that now. how easy would this be to fit. ive got my own tools but only just started really doing things myself or would i be best to just send it to a garage for them to fit ?
  3. couldnt feel anything inside at all to be honest so am i wise to just replace everything and go from there would you say? dont suppose you know the part numbers to order by chance? cheers for your quick response Ben
  4. Well let's make my day even worse by getting a screw in my tyre on the way home from work. This skoda ownership is testing my patients :(
  5. brilliant how to guide, did mine this morning and the guide was spot on. Although it turns out that the sensor was not faulty but something else is messing me about :( now to try and find this problem
  6. well changed mine this morning and its not moved at all so that was a waste of money so going to phone the chap who i got it off and try and take it up to him this week to found out whats wrong and then clear the fault. Really annoyed me as only having it a few days now and problems have arisen already
  7. well got a new temp sensor today and going to fit it tomorrow morning. luckily know the lads at a local car spares and got it for £20. but the temp worked just after i bought it but still going to fit it and then find someone with vag com to double check and then hopefully clear the fault. gave the chap who i bought it off a ring and told him whats happend and he did say bring it back but im handy with a spanner and said i dont mind doing it but if it is something diferent ill be bringing it back for him to sort as it will cost me £20+ round trip in petrol to get sorted. but he's fine with that and told me to ring him either way so he knows which im pretty happy with hopefully just a duff sensor and will let you know tomorrow morning great start to this car lol although it is cheaper than my mk1 golf
  8. would it have anything to do with the temperature not working does anyone know?
  9. as above please guys need help in tamworth if possible
  10. fantastic i only picked the car up yesterday. good mood now gone bad :(
  11. hey guys, just got in the car and this warning light came on and i have no idea what it is due to not getting the handbook when i bought it the other day. im going to be ringing them up tomorrow and ask whats going on as it had a full service on monday and all was fine yesterday. Also the temperature gauge is not working, would this be the reason for the light ? any help much appreciated for a newbie
  12. only three more days now till i pick her up
  13. tamworth here ! will have my fabia on wednesday and cant wait!
  14. To be honest I'll be happy with that as it's costing twice that at least with the mk1 plus I'll be warmer !!
