  1. Hi everyone, I'm currently going through the motions with the dealership and skoda to solve the issue of high oil consumption ...as many of you have done also looking through the threads. I've completed the oil consumption checks to prove there is an issue and consequently had the breather pipe mod fitted and was given the go ahead for an engine replacement last week (currently a CAVE). My car went in this week and I was given a phone call to tell me my car hasn't had its engine replaced as skoda wanted the dealership to upgrade the "electronic software" of the car before changing the engine to check if that improves the consumption. Also the limit for oil consumption is 0.5L per 1000km. What figures have people had, because the breather pipe made my consumption a lot worse. Has anyone else had this software upgrade? As looking through the forum I can't see it mentioned....by the looks of it most people have the breather pipe fitted but I can't see anything about software upgrades. Many thanks, Chris
  2. Hi, Iv got a 2007 skoda favia VRS SE. As the title suggests i have a problem with the coolant temperature light. When i turn the car on (usually when engine is cold) the coolant temperature warning light illuminates with an audible warning. Iv used the search function and found a member with the same problem on a 1.4 classic model of the fabia. It was suggested that removing the sensor from the coolant bottle and cleaning the contacts may solve the issue. It seems to me that the sensor it's self is contained within the collant bottle making it impossible to remove the sensor. I removed the plug and cleaned the contactors to the sensor and plug contacts but the problem persists. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
