5 1/2 years old now and only real fade on my red Furby has been on top of the rear spoiler ie. only noticeable by me when I wash it. Overall, paint has held up really well for this colour, especially when you see some of those older faded matt red Astras and Corsas knocking about!

Just about averaging 55 mpg over a week with a daily commute of 44 miles each way mainly over reasonable but twisty country roads / through villages (30 mph please!). And it always seems to take 1 hr 17 mins no matter whether I think I driving faster or slower than usual once 'out of town'! (yawn)

Maybe, but depsite my current Scottish location, the one that dealt with the alloys issue was the supplying dealer in Kent. That said, my first step into the unknown up here in finding a new dealer last Jan for the big 4 year service was very positive indeed.

Luck of the draw with dealers. My fronts were going after 2 years. Service manager inspected them and ordered new wheels straight away. As the treads were getting low as well, and the tyres would need to be swapped anyway when the wheels were changed, bought myself some new ones off Black Circles and delivered them with the car to dip in some free fitting and balancing as well

Probably a 'what's the point' Drivers that do care will know already and are just waiting for an opportunity to fix it (noting that modern care 'design' can often mean a trip to the dealers to sort). Drivers that are too dull to care or notice this defect are not going to have clue what you are indicating if you do flash them!

All true but there again it's all relative isn't it. Love my VRS to bitz but getting back into it after doing a few laps in a Ferrari...........! Sound track just wasn't quite the same.

Well, we've probably all been noticing the price of fuel (well, unleaded anyway) creeping up over the last month or so but dropped my jaw going past my local Shell on way home last night to see Unleaded being sold at a penny MORE EXPENSIVE than Diesel. When did we last ever see that? No complaints though (except at the 10mpg drop I suffered with the heat in the mid 20s and the aircon on full!). Anyone in the know suggest the reason behind this and why it is just unleaded that is being affected with diesel prices remaining fairly stable (in my area anyway at 100.9 to 102.9 average)?:confused:

Good joke but, to be really boring, this is just what you want to do whilst the blades are off the arms in between changing them to save the problem that generated this thread in the first place!

Oh exactly! Quite a lot of them seem to think that this option is fitted already. Doesn't work so well in a cloud of diesel soot though - manages to break lock nicely !

Well, spot on. Back from dealer today. Good and quick job but £105 out of the wallet!

So, a reasonably pleasant drive up to Fort William on Fri afternoon only to find myself being burnt up and overtaken...................by an 'M' reg, stretched Volvo hearse :eek: ! (not carrying anyone pleased to say). OK, I didn't exactly try to fight it and kept my lawful steady 60, thinking it would be an amusing thing to happen as I saw him lining it up a few times in the preceding miles. As a contrast to the traffic light GP dits, can anybody share any other incidents of being the 'victim' of an embarrasing overtake?

Good to hear as I'm in for a new one to be fitted tomorrow. Add in an hour's labour to drop the bumper, maybe it'll get in under a £100?

Legal or not - agreed; it's a black and white rule. Sensible or not to keep going on that tread level is a different matter! No 'lol' if you find your rear end breaking free in heavy rain and creaming off the side of the road with no grip due to lack of tread! Up to you I suppose.............

2mm on the rears! Well yes, technically a pass but hope you treat yourself to some new rubber before the year is out because they'll easily be below the line before the next MoT.

I have it on my 54 Furby but not on a 56 Furby (note in manual says that it was 'removed' or something like that but doesn't make it clear whether it remained as a dormant function). I'm sure there was a spectacularly good reason for the change but lost on me. Some people like it, others not - personally I'm a fan but not losing sweat about it either way.
