  1. Its an October 2006 PD - 110000 on the clock now (bought it at 36k), but reliability has been diabolical over the last 12 months. lucky I like it!
  2. Oh dear - I've just developed this fault too and it's on its way to Vindis in Cambridge. Last time it went there they had £1500 out of me for a dash pod.....
  3. 70 odd thousand and still running like a dream.
  4. Thanks, I can't lower the car as it only just makes it up my drive/ track as it is!
  5. Found new on Ebay for £185 inc delivery - getting better!
  6. Hi guys, I would like some feedback on shocks and bushes. One of my shockers needs replaced, as do the front rearward suspension bushes. Are there any good recommended upgrades available over the OEM items. I'm considering Powerflex bushes to replace the existing ones. Any ideas?
  7. I've just buckled my NSF wheel in one of the lovely big potholes my local council seems to be cultivating at the moment. Just had the wheel balanced, but it hasn't sorted the problem, so I need to get a new wheel. I've been quoted £200 inc VAT by my local dealer. Anyone know where I can buy them cheaper? Thanks in advance.
  8. Hi Guys, I would like to update the navigation maps on my 2006 vRS. It is the factory fit nav. Any ideas on the most cost effective way to upgrade, and what difference any upgrade might make. The existing database can only be described as poor, and it doesn't even have a postcode search. Thanks in advance.
  9. Ended up getting a set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's. 350 Quid all in. They're superb.
  10. Think I've narrowed it down to Falken's or Vredstein's. My main priority is wear. I like the sound of the BF Goodrich gForce Profiler's but can't find them for a sensible price. The Scud is my commuting chariot, so even though I live in rural Scotland, I don't see ultimate grip on the limit as my main priority Any thoughts? Amazing how differently everyone wears their tyres - I used to run a supercar club, and even our hired supercars would get 7k out of a set of tyres.......
  11. Thanks for the ideas guys. Due to my mileage, good wear is most important. I've heard a lot of good things about the Falken's , but wonder if the compliments are because they are cheap. I had Toyo Proxes T1-R's on my track day Porsche and loved them, but am not convinced they will last. I don't want to be shelling out £4-500 every 9 months on tyres. The Wanli's are diabolical, but they do give you about 20,000 miles of wear! Anything that will last upwards of 15k sounds good to me. Still undecided though.... Any ideas how the Falken's wear?
  12. About time for me to change the tyres on my 56 plate Octavia 2 vrS tdi estate. Currently has a set of magnificent Lego Wanli Tyres! I do about 20,000 miles per annum, live in Scotland (60 days of snow this year) and use my car mainly for commuting, with a quarterly blast through the Highlands and perhaps the odd track day. What do I want from my tyres? Good wear Good performance Good price (preferably under £85 per corner) Low noise Any suggestions? The only good thing about the Wanli's is that they don't appear to wear at all....... Suggestions in the box please people
  13. I'm no further forward with this, despite some good suggestions. I parked next to a standard estate the other day, and couldn't see any differneces in the bodywork at the front wheel arch, although there was a minor difference in the styling of the rear bumper. Has anyone fitted flaps to a VRS, or got pictures? As stated, the part numbers seem all wrong in the brochures. It seems that finding out is just too much effort for my dealer..... or maybe it's because he was meant to pay for them Very frustrating
  14. Just picked up a diesel vRS estate, and the dealer told me mudflaps could not be fitted. Is this correct. Does anyone know where I can get some, and how easy are they to fit? Thanks.
  15. I have just bought a 56 plate UK vRS diesel - is that a Mk1 or a Mk2. Am trying to find mudflaps for it......
  16. Maybe I'm on the wrong forum?! My car is a 56 plate UK spec car - perhaps it's a mark 2, I've got no idea. It was a bit of an impulse buy..... Love it though
  17. I've just taken delivery of a used vRS diesel estate, and part of the deal was that the dealer would fit mudflaps ( if possible - although they thought it would be). Duly turned up to the dealership to take it away, and yes, you guessed it - no mudflaps. Can they be fitted? Funnily enough, one of my colleagues has an 04 plate vRS hatch which I noticed yesterday has them......... Any help appreciated!
  18. Anyone know my best bet for a chip on 2006 vRS tdi?
  19. Hello chaps, New to this forum, but have just bought a Skoda vRS tdi Estate - really enjoying it, and look forward to posting my questions soon.
