  1. Yup - connected to car with Rsap straight away ! Result - so thanks VRS DSG. My wife laughs at me but when I can have the functionality of rsap I want it - the fact texts can be read out, or replies typed on the screen, and that reception is always 4 or 5 bars coz as you say the car is the phone. D
  2. Ok so I took the plunge and rooted my phone using the above instructions. Appears to now be running rsap !! Will try and connect to the car tonight. My Octavia is a 59 plate - For those with older bluetooth units there are loads to threads about updating the box under the seat to a later version that works on both hfp and rsap - I did this 18 months ago and it cost abot £90. So easy you wouldnt believe it. Skoda assured me it was impossible........ D
  3. I have an S2 and updated to ICS last week but now I cannot connect to my Octavia with Rsap - it just uses notmal BT connection....is there any way to change this ? Or has the Rsap function been lost in the upgrade ? D
  4. I am a big fan of Toyo T1Rs. Great grip wet or dry.
  5. Is there any difference at all in the Skoda supplied steel 16" wheels against the mytyres supplied ones ? Seems easiest to just order the package rather than get the wheels from the dealer and tyres from elsewhere. But just wanted to check.
  6. Been doing trackdays for ages. Dont get intimidated by faster cars - there will always be faster drivers/cars. But go and enjoy yourself somewhere safe like Bedford as you say, and learn your own car. Nothing beats that. Bear in mind the abuse the things like brakes will get though. Circuit Days on 30th July at Bedford for example.
  7. If a new car arrived without the front sensors (just rears) does anybody know if they can be retrofitted and also work on the screen ? Any help appreciated. D
  8. We are moving from Audi A6 3.0 V6 TDI to Superb 2.0 TSI.....picking it up this Sat. Looking forward to it but hope the performance isnt too down on the Audi. Quad pipes sound cool though. D
  9. You dont have to activate it. It recognises it automatically. I found that if it already had a BT profile though it needed deleting. D
  10. As you can see from my earlier posts I had to delete the original pairing to make it connect on rsap - but that was Galaxy and you have tried that anyway. I have found bluetooth is a dark art and deleting all the pairings and trying again is all you can do - pain in the arse though. Good luck.
  11. Various threads recently all about it. Just have a look on the ICE forum and there is a long thread. There is also one in Superb forum by ukcruiser. Ebay is yr friend...and my car was built in Dec 2009, and no configuration needed - just plug and play - 3 small easy bolts then 2 cables. Here is one: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/189618-rsap-bluetooth-to-handsfree-sucess/
  12. I went with the Samsung Galaxy S - works perfectly with rSAP (not sure what lack of functionality ukcruiser was talking abt). I really like the phone so when I lost it, I went through your same dilemma. I decided to change the module (mine would have been similar to yours) to the latest one (once again thanks ukcruiser) and it now connects with everything that has bluetooth. But I also wanted the full rSAP functionality (yeah I know cake and eat it...) so bought another Galaxy off ebay for £200. It did take 2 goes to initially pair properly with the new bt unit but thats coz I hadnt unpaired from the previous box. Anyway, my advise is get the new BT module anyway. Then IF you want rSAP (new box does stuff like read yr texts out to you) dont buy Nokia as I didnt like them and the one I borrowed kept crashing, but buy Samsung Galaxy s or a Blackberry. Hope that helps. D
  13. I tried to have an order put in yesterday in Storm blue and it was rejected as Storm Blue is no longer available. Has your order in Storm Blue been accepted ? D
  14. Amazing isnt it ? Alot of people if they offered it would pay £300 just to get their system working properly. I fell out completely with Skoda Uk over this. They told me I was a liar and this would not work - and such an upgrade would be 'impossible'. The dealer supported me on this too, yet all I got was abuse and a flat rejection. It hasnt put me off the brand but...... D
  15. I deleted the previous rSAP bluetooth pairing on the phone from the previous module and tried again and that did the trick. Stupid really. But now it works like a dream and I have full 'Premium' service !! Thanks so much to Briskoda. Now to the Maps.....
  16. Thanks for that. I will try that. I had a bluetooth connection to the old unit on the phone called Skoda_rsap and the new one is called Skoda_bt. I have now cleared those off the phone and will delete off car and then start all over again. We will see ! Its just the Nokia didnt need it - it just worked straight away ! The dark arts of Bluetooth ! D
  17. Sorry to bug everybody on this but I am frustrated as hell. Swapped the Bluetooth boxes to the latest one with HFP and rSAP - but now my Samsung only connects via HTP and not rSAP. Now, the box works fine with my old Nokia on rSAP and my wife's Sony Ericsson now connects which is great. But I cannot seem to get the Samsung to connect over rSAP. The added functionality of rSAP I now really quite like..... So, the box appears to work ok - as does the phone....so, can anybody advise 1) they have connected a Samsung Galaxy via rSAP on the latest bt module, 2) any trick how to do it if you have ? Any help appreciated **edited to say all working now after deleting previous pairings on the phone from original BT Module** D
  18. Posted in the thread in Superb area but maybe more relevant here. I successfully swapped the boxes for the 'D' (dead simple - not sure why I worried !). But my Samsung Galaxy that connects with my old bluetooth over rsap, now only connects HFP ! My old Nokia connects fine with rsap and does all the extra things this unit should like sms on the columbus screen etc. Anybody any thoughts how to get the Galaxy connecting with rsap on the new box ? U should add the box seems to work fine as my wifes Sony-E connects now perfectly on HFP. Any help appreciated. D
  19. I use a Galaxy S but want my wife's phone to be able to connect as well which is non rsap phone. Anyay I installed the new unit 'D' and the Galaxy connects fine as does my wifes phone - great - EXCEPT my Galaxy now wont connect with rsap like it used to !!! So I dont get the added functionality !!!! Anything I can do ? Can somebody suggest anything ? FYI this replaces a 'B' unit with a columbus satnav system in my Octavia.
  20. Does it make much difference on 6 or 7 speed ? Also looking at the prices there is very little difference in cost between 1.8 and 2.0 so does that mean the 1.8 will disappear rather than the 3.6 ?
  21. I have an Octavia vRS MY2010 - But struggling to see how to get access to the bt box - Can anybody advise how I get easy access to do the swap as the seat wont go far enough back. I would rather not have to remove the seat though. Is there an easy way ? Thanks again in advance D
  22. I have just ordered 2 x Toyo T1Rs for the vRS. Bit more money but hopefully will improve grip especially pulling away ! Bloody potholes....
  23. Strangely on that note Nokia just announced they will use Windows 7 for their next smartphones !! Assume rSAP will be included as in all Nokias. I am waiting the module to swap it over. The only thing is that rSAP does actually give a far better performance than plain handsfree in my area due to the enhanced signal....but whatever, the improved functionality is worth it anyway ! D
  24. Thanks very much. The unit is very much rSAP only unfortunately. I will check the box in the car just to see what code it is anyway. Sorry to be dim again, but does HFP have any functionality in terms of address books etc ? In our Audi it connects to all phones and syncs the address book not using rSAP (wife uses a Sony-E).
