  1. Anyone know if Lidl have the screenwash back in yet this year?
  2. Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice on a sudden issue from my journey to work today. I've got a 08 plate 1.9TDi which has just gone over 110,000mi. So the isssue is that the car seems to be running OK. It revs OK in neutral, but when I'm driving along and put my foot down, I suddenly have no turbo and I can hear what I would describe as a shhhing noise, which sounds a bit like compressed air leaking or strong wind rushing past. It's completley connected to the accelerator and in the range at about 2000rpm when there turbo kicks in. I haven't noted any other issues like smoke from the exhaust but my cruise control has symultaneously stopped working today so I'm wondering if this is more of an engine managment issue.
  3. My 08 mkII estate has rear clips. Rear mats are same as the ones in the pic.
  4. I mostly use the VAG stuff and never had any blocking problems. AFAIK, the main problem is the detergent in the cheap stuff. I know when I used to work at Halfords if there was ever a spill of their ready made screen wash it left a sticky residue even after cleaning. That's the stuff which blocks the fan jets and it's made worse because of the interaction of the detergent with minerals in the water making a water soluble gel-like scum. The VAG has a high methanol content (you can smell it) which is what stops it freezing but I'm not sure whether there is less or different detergent. I've found that if I use super concetrate it seems to be less viscous. I've used this one from B&Q and it lasted ages, but can't seem to find it any more. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item460a58934f
  5. I've had the same problem with heel hole in the OEM carpet mats (unfortuantely not originally on the car), but the rubber ones are fine so far. Does anyone know if it's possible to get a single drivers mat; something I'm considering for the summer. The other three are perfectly fine, so seems a waste to get a whole new set, though the £39 price tag isn't exactly prohibitive.
  6. I guess you might be right all the contact comes from Germany.. but AFAIK the legal transaction is with the UK subsidiary based in Oxford through a UK bank account.
  7. Great to know guys. As long as they eventually deliver I have no problem, but I have absolutely no guarantee they will. It seems really odd in so much as a card payment once authorised must be as good as cash to them.
  8. Seems I've been had by this mytyres charade too. Anyone know of an alternative place to order complete wheels and tyres from who are reliable and will take a card payment.
  9. Thanks, thought I had it sorted and had ordered a set of wheels from mytyres until I received their email requesting payment in advance via bank transfer. Not sure I'll be doing that.. so back to the drawing board I guess. Anyone know of any other sites which offer full wheel deals. My dealer quoted me £699 for steelies with continental tyres.
  10. I've got the stream MP3 unit without maxidot. I've noticed that the change in volume is variable on mine too. I can't be cetain without testing it, but I think that when I put the car in reverse if I then turn the radio up or down, it remembers that volume for the next time.
  11. Granted mine's an estate but it clears in about a minute. This morning was 1C and I switched on the rear heater, quickly scraped ice off all the other windows and got in, the back was totally clear. The guy clearing his ford accross the road was at it as I came out and was still there as I drove off. Can't say I've ever suffered from the moisture problem either, to say that there's often a wet spaniel in the boot you'd think I would. On the other hand my OHs '07 Fabia suffers in the cold and damp conditions.
  12. I've used the black magic touch up from Halfrauds and it's a good match for mine.
  13. I tend to find CC is less economical than controlling seed myself. That said I rarely find a bit of motorway which is uncongested enough to use it these days.
  14. Thanks! I was beginning to wonder. Some of the offsets on the alloy wheels which are reccomended for the Ocativia by websites seem to have pretty low offsets down to ~35.
  15. Hi Guys, I have a similar question. Hoping someone can help. I have a set of OEM Ronal 6 spoke 16" Alloys on my '08 Elegance. Annoyingly none of the vital info is stamped on the rim (unless you have to take the tyre off to see it). The tyre size is 205/55/R16. I know I need PCD 5x112 and wheelfitment.eu says the offset is 47. I also thought the rims were J7s (from measuring the rim) until I looked at mytyres.co.uk where the offset is 47 but only on 15x6 and 16x6 rims and the offset on the 6.5 is 50. I know there's not that much difference but I'd like to get as close to possible with what I have since winter tyres fitted on my current wheels seem to work well. Does anyone have the actual measurements of these wheels?
