  1. Ha ha, yep cheers they rang today to say they had made an error and over charged by £78 ! I did get them to chuck in a spare wheel, sill guards, boot lip protector and autoglym lifeshine so we didnt do too bad !
  2. Hi All, get the car on Friday, but when sat in the dealers I noticed a brand new poster showing the car with a white roof with matching mirror caps again! When I asked why they could'nt get them I was told matching mirror caps were not available in UK, so where do I get these things ? ! Seems strange... Also while I am on the dealer wanted £120 to fit a set of mudguards to the fabia ! Is this correct, the mudguards seem to show as £21 per pair but he says they are twice that price, can anybody advise? Cheers. I'll post some pics when we get it.
  3. Why do people keep saying this sort of thing? The Highways Agency are not the Police and therefore dont give a toss how fast you 'fly' past ! They are there to deal with incidents that occur on motorways, not enforcement. You may just need their help the next time you 'fly' past and stuff yourself into the barrier.
  4. Thanks for the info I know someone who does paintwork so not a problem. No the car has already been built so didnt get a choice on the wheels but I believe they have been upgraded to 16in. We are going to put a monte carlo grille on it though, cant stand the chrome item ! Cheers
  5. Ohh OK, so you mean just order a pair of white mirrors full stop ?
  6. Hi All, Another Skoda has joined the family as my wife has just ordered a new Fabia TDi 105. Its black magic with a white roof. From pictures I have seen some have what look like white wing mirror covers which match the white roof really well. But my dealer says he cant find such an item. Does anyone know if these exist or where to get them? If not I will have to get some unpainted ones from Ebay and get them painted. Cheers...
  7. Best promotional video of any Skoda I've ever seen! Nice one! And good luck with it.
  8. Cheers, and I see you have yourself a proper bike too! Good lad!
  9. Nice one.........the most honest version of the MX-5's............enjoy
  10. I never got around to posting a pic of the mods I made to my Octavia. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1967158.htm I'm sure there are alot of people on here have been down this road before but I thought I would share it. Milotek grille, got it colour matched/sprayed locally, looks much better I think but the bonnet release lever is a pain to modify. Fitted mudflaps all round and manipulated the rears to fit the VRS bumper, had no problems and keep tons of dirt off the sides of the car! Had a Celtic remap as a colleague at work is now an agent for them, totally transforms the car, feels like the diesel version low down in the rev range then just keeps revving like the petrol. Cheers.
  11. Disagree there! My wife has had the Z3 2.0 Straight six for quite a few years now and its been an excellent car. Obviously the bigger engined models offer higher levels of performance but if its the entry level models you're looking for then finding the 2.0 version is a great improvement over the hundreds of standard 1.9 versions out there. It has that bit of extra punch, more torque and sounds much better than the 4 cylinders. We chose a Z3 as it offered that bit more room than the Japanese alternatives behind the wheel. It is not cramped at all. It is now past 100,000 miles without any engine related issues. It has had a few issues with the alarm and c/locking etc in the past and you have to make sure you get good rubber on them as they are quite skittish through the bends, but fun never the less. Cheers!
  12. Got a colleague at work who is now an agent for Celtic Tuning. Remapped my 2006 Octavia II VRS Petrol. Unbelievable results! Much more torque and punch at the bottom end. Feels like the diesel then carries on revving like a petrol. Great! If anyone is looking for a remap in the North West / Preston area then you might do well to check with Phil. His number is 07773 555713 Only problem I have had is with the fuel pressure sensor (low pressure side) which cant handle the extremes of the new remap so VW have a technical bulletin to fix it. The car loses power for a few seconds, then the power comes back. ! Has anyone else experienced this? Cheers...
  13. Hi All, Sorry if this has been covered but I cant find anything. Had my 2006 Octavia II VRS for a while now but recently sometimes when I go to unlock it by pressing the unlock button on the fob it doesn't do the normal 'chirp' then straight afterwards the car resets both the clock and the trip counter back to zero ! Then all the warning lights stay on the dash for a short while after starting. eh? A mate told me the battery in the fob needed replacing so I did that but the problem is still happening. The other day all the dash went blank for a minute or so before allowing me to start the car. Does anyone know what's going on? Cheers!
  14. Hi just wondering if anyone knows the best and most economical option to have fabric seats repaired or replaced? On my dads octavia he has worn a hole in the fabric seat bolster. Looks a right mess. Any ideas?
  15. Hi I'm free that day so I'll try and pop by and say hello. Cheers
  16. I really don't mind where everyone wants to meet. Hope to see some of you soon.
  17. Just an idea thats all, there is lots of space there and McD's and everything else will be open on a Sunday. Also some members seem to be from Blackburn/Preston area. Its a central point. Whats your idea and why?
  18. Live just off the M65 too so Darwen services (J.4 M65) would be a choice for me if it were just for a local meet up. Plenty of space there. If its a pub then 'The Hartwood' Just off J.8 M61 near to Botany Bay. Or another idea would be to meet somewhere where there is lots of space, a cafe and loads of nice roads to and from to enjoy, i.e Knott End (Fylde Coast) Thats what the bikers do!
  19. This is gonna sound bizarre, but i would have bought a 10 year old Mercedes SL Also considered a Fabia VRS and a Subaru Impreza If i had a large amount of money and did'nt mind the bills I would have a Lotus Esprit. Always loved the shape and the exclusivity.
  20. Hi mate, Yes I will try my best. Good to see some bike enthusiasts on here too. Currently ride a Varadero XL1000 and do around 10,000 miles a year including touring holidays.
  21. Hi and thanks for that. Yes I think they are in Middlewich so would only be about a 45 minute drive from me. I have mailed them and they seem to be very professional, wanting £249 for a re map. Tempted to go for it. ! Re the milotec grille, i would prefer this option as it lets me keep my old grille as standard in case it ever goes back on the car.
  22. Bought a 3 year old Octy VRS from them in February. Took 2 test drives. Nothing was too much trouble and they did the best deal on P/X Best dealership I have been to. Not pushy at all. Dealt with Kirsti. Very honest and always calls you back. Also good after sales service. Highly recommended!
  23. Hi new to this forum. Just wondering if anyone meets a liitle further North, say around the Preston area at all? Cheers!
  24. Hi all, Just joined the forum. Purchased a 3 year old TFSI VRS. Attached is pic with Independance Of The Seas, Southampton. Went to Simpsons Of Colne. Best dealer i have ever visited to be honest. Not pushy and customer service still excellent after buying the car. Only thing I don't like about the car is the chrome grille. Can't understabd why Skoda did'nt colour match it! Read alot about them on here and am planning to buy a milotec grille and fit a VRS badge to it. Also thinking about a simple remap to release a bit more of the cars potential. Have read alot of good reviews of more-bhp in Cheshire. It is near to where i live. Has anyone any experience of them on here?
