  1. Just had a phone call from our dealer, to say that our (Cappucino) Fabia Elegance Estate 1.6 Tdi (105hp) is now built (Week 47) and en route - with delivery expected next week (the week before Christmas - a nice present ?!). It was ordered in mid-September - so 3 months from order to delivery, more or less.
  2. We ordered a Cappucino Fabia Estate 1.6 Tdi CR 105 Elegance ! Great minds think alike - well, apart from colour choice. We ordered it a week before you (13th September) and were told delivery in early November - but haven't heard anything from the dealer since then.
  3. We ordered a 1.6 Tdi 105hp Elegance Estate yesterday - and were told it would be a factory order, but only an 8 week wait, with delivery in November. I don't know if it's less than your quoted 16 weeks because it's an Estate (I assume you were after a Hatch ?).
  4. We went to the local dealership yseterday to order a 1.6 Tdi 105hp Scout - and were told no deliveries with this engine - any colour - before March - a 24 week wait ! We ordered an Elegance Estate instead - in Cappucino Beige - and told it would be an 8 week wait (a bit of a difference !), with delivery in mid-November. Has anyone got a Cappucino (saying that, is a bit like being in Starbucks !) - any Fabia model - and if so, what do you think of it ?
  5. Went to the local dealership yesterday to order a Scout (1.6 Tdi 105hp) - and was told no Scout deliveries with this engine before March - a 24 week order wait ! We ordered an Elegance Estate instead and were told delivery by mid-November - 8 weeks - a bit of a difference ! We could choose any colour, as it was a factory order - and went for Cappucino Beige.
  6. What are the current delivery times for the Fabia ? We are considering the Scout and Elegance Estate and ordering in the next week or so. Does choice of colours make any difference (eg longer for Black) ?
  7. Thanks. Your message will be going loud and clear to my wife !
  8. Thanks Shyfly. I'm interested to hear of your views on the white (the new silver, they say !) - I think a clean white car is the best going. If only it doesn't get dirty so easily !
  9. Thanks Bob. We weren't considering silver (or the silver 'variations - and there's a lot of them !) - we might now. I'm really pleased to hear that you think the boot is big - as you'll see from another response, that's a major factor in deciding to move from the Octavia.
  10. Yes, we're fully aware the Fabia Scout is a 'sheep dressed up in wolf's clothing' ! We've got an Octavia 4x4 at the moment and while it has great mpg for a 4x4, it still only gives 50mpg or so - and the Fab is likely to give us 15-20 more.. Although we're 'downsizing', we still want a fair sized boot and the Fabia Estate / Scout is great for a 'supermini'. One of our 'discussions', is whether the Scout or the Elegance has the equipment best suited for our needs - and I think the Scout has (at the moment) - electric rear windows, esp etc and not just the "plastic bits" ! As for colour, I agree with you about the red (my Yeti is Corrida - and I think it looks good, but my wife doesn't !). I'm keen on the black, but it's interesting to hear of the liking for white and silver amongst recent Scout buyers.
  11. We are currently (seriously) considering buying a Fabia Scout - to replace our Octavia Estate. As there are so few available in the UK, I wonder if any Briskoda bloggers have got their hands on one yet ?. One of our main concerns is what colours actually look like 'otr'. My wife likes Safari, but I think it looks like the results of a bad curry night. I like the Black. Her concern with the Black though, is it too black - with the Scout lower bodyside plastic protectors also in black, is it simply too overwhelming ? Any observations from anyone - on any of the colours ?
  12. 1000 miles with my 110hp 4x4 Yeti and the computer says 44mpg. I think most on here would say that's pretty good, but our Octavia 1.9PD 4x4 is doing 54mpg - though that has covered 70000 miles, so it's pretty well run-in !!
  13. I don't know whether its a fault of the car, or a fault with me; but I can't seem to get the (two outer) rear seats to slide - forward or back. I've tried lifting the under-seat lever and moving the seats, but they don't shift either way. Is there a trick I'm missing (something else I should be doing), or have I got faulty (or very stiff !) seats, which I should have a word with the dealer about ?
  14. Fully agree with your comments. We too had an Octy Estate (and have 2 children) - and (my wife in particular) are concerned about the much smaller boot in our new Yeti (especially as we have the spare tyre with raised floor). I think your plan to take the centre seat is a good idea - and could also help keep our 2 boys from 'battling' each other !
  15. Member Name: Bald Reynard Car Picked up: 13/1/10 (Ordered 9/10/09) - VAT at 15% Engine: 2.0 CR Diesel 110hp 4x4 Model: 'S', Corrida Red, with Rear Parking Sensors, 'Off Road' Button, Spare Tyre (& Variable Height Floor) and Rubber Mats (on order !). Tyres - Goodyear Excellence Location: Cumbria Regrets: Too early to say - only one possible concern at the moment, now knowing how much luggage space is taken by the spare tyre and consequent raised height floor, I MIGHT have just gone with the Tyre Inflator kit Surprises: The display indicator showing what gear you're in (with advice on necessary changes) and the car coming with the (Scandanavian-style) Daylight Lights setting 'On' (you can switch it off, but I'm quite happy about this now) Also: Others are right - my 'S' has body colour mirrors, not black as the brochure says (but not Rear Privacy Glass)
  16. Call his bluff ! Theres no way he'd want to be left with a car, looking for a new buyer (and the uncertainties that involves) , for the sake of a couple of hundred pounds. Say, "unless he sticks to the AGREED deal, you're pulling out". My bet is he'll relent and go ahead at the old VAT rate - and you can point out that everyone else on Briskoda who ordered in October, with January delivery, has had the VAT held (and you'll be letting all on the Briskoda website know how sh*te Bristol Skoda are - and a possible consequent loss of many sales !).
  17. For those who've followed the 'saga' about delivery of my 'snow monster' (and I've no doubt, bored !); you won't have to 'suffer' my worries (well, concerns about delivery times !) much longer. I've just had a call from the dealers, to say that the transporter is due to deliver the car to them on Monday - and after PDI, I SHOULD be able to pick it up on Wednesday 13th (they asked if I was superstitious - I said not; I was touching wood though !). I'll post again next week hopefully, with my initial thoughts on it - and bore you all once more - though on matters other than delivery then (for info - it was just over 3 months) !
  18. What make of tyres have people got on their Yeti's ? Pictures I've seen have shown Dunlop's - is that what most have found ? I know a lot of Skoda's have Dunlop's - I certainly started with them on my '55 Octavia (and have stayed with them). As a little addendum to my post about delivery of my Yeti S 4x4 110hp (ordered 9/10) - I still haven't heard about due date. Build Week was 50 (early December) and my dealer has said that delivery SHOULD be first couple of weeks in January - but with all this snow about (in Germany and the UK), I fully expect the car to be 'snow-bound' in either Emden or Sheerness (or some point in between !). Has anyone else heard about delivery dates for cars built around Week 50 (I know Sanqhar's car was around then ) ?
  19. Thanks for letting us know the new brochure's out Plumber. I was intrigued to see if SUK have acknowledged my comments of last November, about the 110hp and 140hp 4x4 fuel consumption (and CO2) figures being the 'wrong way round'. THEY HAVE FINALLY GOT IT RIGHT - and the new brochure has the 110hp figures as 47.1 mpg combined and 157g CO2 (previously they had that for the 140hp). At Last ! Still awaiting my 110hp 4x4 'S' - ordered in October. The dealer has said it 'should' be here early Jan (but has confirmed it will be with VAT at 15% - as the build date was Week 50 and so they had a Chassis / Engine Number in December).
  20. That's good news Finebone - exactly the same model as I've ordered (and as others have said, I think it could be the first 110hp 4x4 'S' in the country !). I'd be intrigued to hear more of your thoughts on it, with a bit of usage. By the way, exactly what date in September did you order it - that might give me a clue as to when I might get mine (ordered on 9th October) ?
  21. As with my reply to Aerofurb, thanks Scunjee.
  22. Thanks Aerofurb - useful info, which (if it's OK ?) I'll use when I speak to my dealer. PS The 'Thanks' button on the original website is now missing (hence this 'proper' Reply) - I assume another problem with the 'back-up' site ?!
  23. Thanks Weaver. As I said to Sanqhar, I'm going to contact my dealer and try and get some reassurance / confirmation about not paying the VAT rise. It's interesting to note (and comforting) that (at least) two other people are in the 'same boat' as me on this.
