  1. My Yeti 1.2 TSI DSG is due for it's 2 year service tomorrow, and the dealer just phoned to say they will need the car a bit longer to deal with a recall on the turbo. While they're at it, have there been any software/firmware/ECU updates over the last 2 years that I should ask them to apply. I seem to remember there being an update for the DSG automatic gearbox, or did I just imagine that?
  2. My best yet - over the last 2 months, using Tesco Momentum 99, now averaging 48mpg on our 1.2 TSI DSG.
  3. I recently switched to using Tesco Momentum 99 in our Yeti 1.2 DSG, and have gone from averaging 43mpg with Tesco 95 to averaging 48mpg with Momentum 99. For an extra 5p per litre, it saves money and uses less fuel. On my 6000 miles per year, I'll save around £60 (1p per mile). Just need to watch out for Tesco gradually pushing the price differential up.....

No, I very rarely have anything queueing behind me. One advantage of living in the far north of Scotland - no traffic.
  5. I think it's because you get a lot more wind buffeting with it fully open, so the default fully-open position is tuned to reduce wind buffeting.

We now average 43mpg on our one year old 1.2 DSG Elegance. About 80% of that is on cruise control at 55mph, which gets us around 46mpg. Drop to 50mph on the cruise control, and you can get around 50mpg. Remember the old saying - "50 is thrifty, the ton's more fun".
  7. Our 1.2 TSI DSG is just coming up to its one year birthday, and has had no updates applied. Is there a list somewhere so I can see if any should be applied as a "birthday present"?
  8. Exactly the same reason we had the sunroof as well. Coming from a convertible, it was a great option.
  9. Yes, in S mode, you can just about get it into 6th gear, but most of the time it's in 5th. Turn on cruise control, and it immediately goes into 7th gear.
  10. I suspect that Skoda UK associate wood trim with older people, and are worried about putting off younger buyers.
  11. A photo of the wood trim fitted The wood looks SO much better than the silver trim
  12. Great choice. Muscovado/Gobi pictures of our Yeti at http://www.flickr.com/photos/tarbat/sets/72157623831482396/detail/ I'd recommend the wood trim as well
  13. Ordered from Allams on Wednesday afternoon. Arrived up here in the far north Friday afternoon, and fitted in 20 minutes. Excellent service from Allams, and easy to fit. As others have said, the Gobi interior looks so much better with this wood trim, and matches the Muscovado exterior colour perfectly.
  14. Okay, many thanks. Think I'll go ahead and order the trim. I guess I'm most worried about the black radio surround, as there's no way of identifying where the clips are located.
  15. Is this no longer available? If I follow the link, all I get is a blank page.
  16. Great description of the process - thanks. So, I'm about to muster up the courage to order the wood trim, but I'm scared stiff of fitting it. Is the existing trim held on with clips and/or glue? And what holds the black radio surround in place? Thanks.

  18. Yes, a great review. Did anyone else notice the shape JC traced out on the Yeti's satnav:

  21. Well, I finally managed to re-set the sunroof, so it now closes with the knob. More snow forecast for tonight, so I hope it and the windows stay closed this time.
  22. Hammett, did you get this looked at, and what was the conclusion? I've got exactly the same problem on my Yeti, sunroof tilted open and two windows half open after a VERY cold night. See http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/184932-windows-sunroof-half-open/
  23. Haven't driven our Yeti for a few days. Discovered this morning that both left side windows were half open, and the sunroof was tilted open (with about 30cm of snow on it!!). Any idea what might have caused this? Secondly, trying to close the sunroof, it won't close by turning the knob. Only way of closing is to use the "safety closing" method outlined in the manual. But even then, if I hold the "A" button just a bit too long the roof opens fully again. I think I've got it fully closed now, but if I hold the button just a split-second too long, it opens again :( No chance of getting to a dealer, since the roads are still blocked with snow, so any help would be much appreciated. I don't want to find the windows/sunroof open again tomorrow morning :(
  24. When I park on our drive, which is flat, I never put the handbrake on, but have no problem taking the key out with the gearlever in Park.
