  1. If you open the door and look where the catch would sit and lock the door when closed, you will see there is a hook thing which can be moved when the hex bolts holding it in place are slightly loosend, not too much mind.make very slight adjustments, up, down, in and out, this will change the way the door sits when it's closed.
  2. A friend of mine had his standard exhaust removed, they had to cut it in a particular place to get it off easily. The garage said it would be possible to put the OEM exhaust back on by fitting a metal sleeve over the joint. Hope this helps?
  3. The bits in the bumper just pop out, but the door strips are held in place by adhesive . They came off really easy but left some of the adhesive on the door so I had to scrape it off using a hair dryer to soften it. Also there is a crease under the strips, you can see it in the picture.
  4. I know what you mean. The reason I decided to colour code them is because in my opinion the black strips broke up the shape of the car too much. Being uniform in colour it does beef it up a lot more, if you like that sort of thing.
  5. Here's the requested pics of the bumper strips in red, door strips totally removed. What you think?
  6. I've got a 51 rally red, and not long ago I colour coded the black strips on the doors and the bumpers. The colour match is perfect, no signs of fading at all:thumbup:
  7. You can disable it, but once you do you are no longer on fixed servicing.
  8. Is there any tell tale signs of a dying turbo other than smoke out the exhaust?
  9. Is it possible to adjust the wastegate on the RS to change the point of boost, or lower boost levels? I ask this because my cars going in for an MOT next week and I'm worried someone might want to "take it on a test drive" just to see if all's well of course:rolleyes:
  10. It's amazing how changing the wheels on a car can make or break it in terms of styling. I think they all look good but in different ways:thumbup:
  11. I Agree. They really know their stuff when it comes to wheels do they not.
  12. As I said, It's personal preference. There are plenty of vrs owners on here who have posted pictures of there cars with things they've done that changes the appearance, and people have commented positively and negatively with their "Personal" opinion. I love my car but thought that the black trim broke up the shape of the car too much, and the standard alloys were too small, so I changed those things to suit me.
  13. I think most people like to keep the car standard, as once something's changed it's no longer "original". I wanted to make mine look slightly different so it really stands out when you see it against a standard car. It's all about personal preference I think.
  14. I think i maybe just gettin used to the power?
  15. I've got 18s on mine, picture taken on me phone camera
  16. I just about managed to push mine in when I changed the pads on the front, bloody hard work. Assuming you've got the brakes completly of the car, bar the brake line of course, then you should be able to remove the old pads and get something through the front to ease the piston back. If it can wait until tommorow I would get the special tool to be honest. There are alan bolts at the back holding the caliper on, assuming it's the rears you're doing.
  17. I just had a look at the bits you mentioned and the CAI looks straight forward enough, but the DV looks like it's an atmospheric unit. I remember reading on here that the engine in the Vrs dosen't really like these? I think a recirculating DV might be better suited. See what the other guys on here think.
  18. You're doing the back pads then yes? They are very hard to push back to be honest, I think halfords sell a gizmo that does it properly.
  19. I've got a forge DV and Carbonio CAI on mine. The DV is very easy to do, assuming it's a swop job, you could do it yourself in about 5 mins or less. My Carbonio involved removing the battery so the the pipe could sit down the side of it. It's not a super hard job but can be a bit tricky as it gets a bit tight around the battery area.
  20. I did it the hard way. I held the caliper in one hand and used the butt of a hammer to push the piston back. Don't forget to undo the brake fluid filler cap.
