  1. To clarify: Apologies, it's called a "voltage stabiliser": 8K0959663G. http://www.realoem.me/Skoda/CZ/YET/2017/779/R/9/919/919022 Think it's specifically for Stop start.
  2. Hi, Have 66 Yeti with stop/start and voltage regulator is located under drivers seat. Passenger seat has sound system amp underneath. Want to fit OEM Bluetooth (to go with Columbus). Does anyone know of "official" or other suitable location for either unit? Many thanks

  4. Just got several coding changes successfully done on my MY17 L&K by friendly Tech at Main agent - these were: Enabling Alarm Acknowledgement - on locking (also works for unlocking but not kept) (advised used byte 5 bit 7 not bit 1) Large MPH display (optional by Alternate Speed Display setting) using "Australia" Enabling Alternate Speed Display option on Maxidot settings Display Cruise Control Speed on Maxidot (bottom left of Maxidot instead of overall mileage when Cruise control switched on) These seemed the most useful "information" changes available on various posts here (& on "other" forum - I hope I'm using correct terminology here ). One bonus of having the large MPH & Alternate Speed Display is that the outside temp is visible all the time instead of "UK standard" kph on Maxidot MFD. I'm pretty sure that Large MPH is from GPS on the Amundsen 2 (can anyone confirm/agree/ disagree?) Coding that the man couldn't apply were: Enable ATA Confirm on Maxidot Comfort menu Change Coming/Leaving Home front lights to Fogs Comfort Turn Signals from 3 to 5 flashes Staging (needle sweep) I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to apply these (especially Fogs & Turn signal changes) on MY17 vehicles or earlier. Hope info useful & for help with remaining "wants"
  5. Update 20/09 After repeatedly getting deafened by TP broadcasts on journey to/from Snowdonia at weekend I called in at Skoda dealer near work in Telford today. Helpful sales rep tried everything I have & retired to consult with Service techies. Turns out they have another customer with same problem & Skoda Tech had no advice so they have other customer's car booked in for 2 days to investigate. I should hear back with their findings within next 2 weeks so I'll post them. Seems unlikely that there are only the 2 cars who've been to a single dealer with same issue so is this anything anyone else has experienced (or is now with new car) with an Amundsen 2? Still be pleased to hear of any suggestions/solutions in meantime. Thx
  6. Hi, Just got new Yeti L&K and trying to come to terms with fitted Amundsen 2 (after several years with Columbus in pre-FL Octavia). Can anyone help with how to preset (& maintain) volume of TP traffic messages at sensible volume as hearing seriously under threat when listening to quiet recordings on SD card. Can adjust volume on "Announcements" but this level is not maintained. Speed dependent volume set v low & min start volume also. Many Thanks in advance
  7. Hi Folks, Beginning to worry I'm monopolising this forum Looking at options after multiple SWL failures (and current SWL Image Search default state of machine). Does a motherboard replacement effectively upgrade a Columbus to the new motherboard type? ie is it motherboard that defines version? Mine's a 1Z0 035 680 A (updated to 3T0 035 680 B ?? by SWL upgrade) Are there different motherboard "versions"? Live in West Midlands(B90) - can anyone suggest who might supply/fit replacement motherboard and how much I should expect to pay? Many Thanks in advance
  8. Can I ask VRStu, or anyone else who exchangerd Nexus(MFD2) for Columbus, about wiring on secondary connection plug for Nexus/MFD2? My car's an early MY07 Octavia and has "big box" aux in as described above. On coming to changeover, with v. valuable assistance from another member, we identified the 3 wires to activate/operate the Aux socket - also doing Quadlock wire switch. Everything then (eventually) worked fine. However the small connector which fitted into rear of Nexus has 2 additional cables (green & brown??) with no obvious home. Can anyone confirm/suggest what they could be for? Many thanks
  9. Hi, Can't claim to be an expert here & have no info re iPhone but: my understanding is that 1ZO units were thos originally fitted to pre-FL Octavias. However folks seem to have later versions installed in pre-FL cars too. There are various modified SW versions available to allow newer versions of Columbus and additional functionality added by new firmware to be used in earlier cars. Opionion seems to be to go for more up to date versions of Columbus when possible. Cheers
  10. Hi, Josi has posted various utilities on VWNavi including ones to reformat map and/or music partitions on HDD. Guess that would be your best bet. For future use why not load everything within a single user folder then it's a single delete using Columbus functionality. Cheers
  11. Update (Briskoda/VWNavi): Looks less optimistic than I thought. Last 2 times (at Least) when starting up Columbus from "cold" (ie after few hours of non-use/overnight) it goes straight into sw update mode and is searching for image. Seems like this is it's natural default state at the moment. Pretty confident I can still get back to the limited functionality I described in initial post (managed that several times) and hidden menu has returned - still shows "-" in sw version so could try things out/get data from menu in that space if there are any ideas out there. This state, however doesn't "stick". I intend to check (from Josi's info) whether 1100 is "Factory update" ie will fully reset the machine and if so do a slow dvd burn and try to update/downgrade to that. Failing that I'm out of ideas. Feedback from anyone, particularily who managed to recover from similar states is very welcome & needed. Replacing the motherboard has been mentioned. Is this something a service is offered for (if so who/how much? - no way I' could do that myself)?
  12. Thanks for tip on Gateway Carl and your swift response. As for upgrade I need to stay (currently) with versions that won't introduce battery drain. I have 0900 and 1100 downloaded, 0900 has failed to load (as described in original post) several times with Fragment read error. Any oher ideas?
  13. Urgently appreciate any advice/guidance on resuscitation of my semi-functional brick (aka Columbus) I intend to post this on both Briskoda & VWNavi) Background follows (mainly cut from previous mails): Have (originally) rev A Columbus in MY07 Octavia with early gateway: Columbus was originally hw4 & sw1004 - with sw 1024 ( I think ) when puchased & installed to replace Nexus. All worked fine inc. mfsw & maxidot. Sucessfully updated to 2720/1200 A/B/C but MFSW wasn't working and maxidot only partially. Then succesfully updated to 1300 A/B/C for Skoda and. MFSW and Maxidot fine. Have I now installed a version giving a battery drain problem for 1st time? Established that unfortunately my car is very early MY07 (Oct06) and I got the following as what I believe is CAN Gateway is: 1K0907530H. This came from VAG diagnostics printout - got it checked post-installation and before starting firmware upgrades. Attempted update to 2760/1200 for A/B/C after swapping PKTABLE/SKTABLE files before updating to get MFSW and Maxidot working. More info about swapping these files is there - http://vwnavi.com/showthread.php/100...ll=1#post37244 This repeatedly failed, was initially able to reinstall 2720/1200 but no more. Now have : red/blue coloured screen displays, initially German but English reselection worked Seemingly fully operational Map/Nav/Traffic Announcements: can enter & display routes etc Stored destinations still there Seemingly lost all MP3 off HD & radio prestets No radio/SD/HDD sound Can copy from SD to HDD and display MP3 as on HDD Hidden menu has now seemingly deactivated but was previously showing no sw version ie “-“ in field. Clock showing on Display, speed limit selection box present so at least elements of sw running is 2720/2760 Seemingly consistent end point of any sw upgrade/downgrade attempt is message stating: HOST fragment Read (presumably this is familiar to some out there?) I have discs burnt for 0900 (used repeatedly and recognised), 1100, 2720/1200 (used repeatedly and recognised) & 2760/1200 with PK/SKTable swap done & official 6.1 Maps disc I suspect table swap may have been initial issue. I have been careful whilst burning discs using Nero and MagicISO/UltraISO. I’ve burnt both cdr & DVDs on slowest speeds and, whilst I’m willing to “reburn & try†I’d like to know that others have got past the error shown by this method. Look forward to receiving sympathy & +ve suggestions (preferably detailed). Many Thanks
  14. Hi, Have 1Z0 Columbus (label states 1Z0 035 680 A, 06/02/08, HW: H04, SW 1004), previous owner suggests 1020 SW may be installed also that he had no problem with "battery drain" when unit was installed in his 05 Octy2. It is to be installed in my Oct 06(MY07) L&K which currently has Nexus & autochanger installed & has MFSW, maxidot & Parrot Hands Free inregrated. Appreciate advice on that version of SW/irmware will be best to install to: 1) ensure no issues with battery drain 2) gain benefits of additional functionality, speed Finally would appreciate source for SW, ideally a burnt disc that has already been sucessfully used. A source for Maps v6.1 (or7?) would also be appreciated as I believe SW upgrade will overewrite HD installed version (can anyone confirm this?) Many Thanks in advance, Richard
  15. Many thanks for responses so far. Raglits/Steve - thanks for your generous offer - appreciate if you can assist with install. I'm away this wkd but, depending on answers re need for immediate sw upgrade/VagCOM programming, am able to get together most evenings or weekends coming up as is convenient for you. I'm in Shirley so we're pretty close. I believe the surround trim for Nexus is same as Columbus (both double DIN). Can anyone else confirm? I have a few more questions - please bear wth me. Which is latest sw or last which adds significant value for a 1Z0? Will i be able to use 32GB card in my Columbus? My Columbus was previously in a pre-FL Octavia and the seller was aware of battery drain issue and did not experience it (he thought only later sw introduced it). Does this mean I can "safely" install the Columbus without immediately updating sw? I would still want to get up to date sw installed but am thinking of logistics. Would somebody be willing to burn me (or lend me) discs for latest sw version appropriate and for 6.1 maps (or 7 if they've appeared)? is there anyone resonably local to B90 with VAG-COM willing to do necessary programming? Thanks again, Richard
