  1. Hello, not been on here for donkeys but I thought I'd chip in. Was a mk1 fabia vrs owner, great car bad dealers! Currently am a long suffering owner of a Audi a4 and the experience has been terrible. More Bad dealers & poorly made cars are forcing me away from the group plus all the stigma of driving a diesel gate car that has lost most of its value in the past year or so, Despite spending around £4k to keep in on the road over the past 2/3 years! Looking at a boring Mazda 6 then I can save heaps of money to put towards something fun!
  2. I wish mine was bolted on :( Will try solder the led back together but thanks for the link incase I mash it up some more, Just glad its not just sitting there with the window open.
  3. Thanks for the replies Managed to bodge in a wooden block to get it to stay up Broke the alarm led in the process :( Thanks again
  4. This is as far as I can get without drilling any rivets the window goes up about 60% Help
  5. Hi, Sorry to bump an old (ancient) thread but thought it was better than starting a new one. Drivers side window has just died, nice crunching sound then just stopped working unfortunately the window is down. is there some way of getting the window up without having to drill out the rivets? Just want to get the window up to stop people rumaging through the car tonight then I can have a proper go tomorrow after a trip to ECP Any help appreciated thanks on advance!!!!
  6. Hey, Not posted in a while hope you are all keeping well? Been having some issues with the battery, car would not turn over so I tried to jump it with the van and it wouldn't hold charge so I called RAC man and he rekoned the alternator had packed up - low signal fault at alternator. So ordered a bosch s4 battery and a bosch alternator, fitted the battery tonight and the car starts up but there is no batery on the dash so am guessing its not charging? have also checked the wiring to the alternator and the loom under the battery all seems ok. So I gonna fit the alternator tomorrow, looked in the hanes and it seems simple enough I was just worried about removing the aux belt got any tips? Also when I removed the battery tray I did not note where the hose came from so any pointers on that would be great too! Thanks in advance
  7. Been playing BF since BF1942. always the same, release a load of mods / addons just before the next version then release a buggy rushed game that everyone moans about then patch it and never really fix the real issues and hope that everyone will buy the next version.... Don't get me wrong I think its one of the best games ever (if a little dumbed down these days)!!!! I don't understand why they couldn't wait for PS4?
  8. Bought a cheap in car charger for my phone as I was on the way to meet a friend and my battery had died. Met my friend 20mins later and the charger was broken, the micro usb had fallen appart.
  9. I didn't think you'd go that far but fair play, theres no point in putting in a shiney engine if the bays all messed up
  10. Tiny bit of snow here in London, not enough to cover my van annoyingly, had to move it to another borough to avoid a fine but probably enough to shut down the underground and all the airports in the south east. Don't have winter tyres, don't really see the point here as I have no where to store them, and now we've had a bit of snow the prices will have shot up 200%. The furbie coped fine a couple of years back when we had real snow, it's not the car it's the driver
  11. Got mine for £79 if you want more ebay it, seen the go for over £90 for some reason???
  12. ^^^ same here, clears up after a couple of miles Also had coolant warning and battery warning (2weeks no drive) so I'm guessing winter is finally here....
  13. Tried with a plastic spatula and failed... Bought something like this http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/products/chp-levers-40172-chp-trim-removal-tool-set.html?gclid=CNjXg_O047QCFSHHtAodCGIArQ useful for other stuff too
  14. My 2p It's a good thing that all these chains are going under, yes I feel for these people loosing their jobs but these companies have sat on their backsides far too long since the invention of the internet and do not provide a reason for a customer to go into there shop. Comet was a good example I went to one ages ago to buy something boring like a Hoover I was there for half an hour before anyone acknowledged me and even then the service was awful and their prices too high.(come to think of it this same thing happened in jessops before Xmas) Off I went and ordered online. We are no longer sheep we now have the power to choose what we buy and how much we pay. And why it's a good thing... Well for our high street shops to survive they will have to work harder for our money and provide us with something that the Internet cannot provide. Some are already doing this John Lewis & richer sounds are 2 that seem to be going from strength to strength even in these times of economic gloom.
  15. Well lets see how many people will agree.... Quote this and add your name to the list if lofty should keep the octavia 1. Steven89 2. Gavla ;-) 3.pieman Golf looks gash IMO octy ftw!
  16. Owl ftw! its from decat sounds good on golf GTdi too. Some mufflerectomy don't do it and some do.?
  17. Wow, was paying £75 at dealers but they didn't deserve it so payed an indy £65 but they didn't deserve it either so now I pay a local mechanic £30 but am not sure that will stretch to injector replacements...
  18. £90p/h You sure you didn't walk into an Audi dealer by mistake.??
