  1. The grille on my Yeti has been attacked by a kamikaze pigeon which make a right mess of it and the grille. I have bought a new grille but cannot work out how to remove it. I have a suspicion that the bumper has to come off. Can you help, please? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi Urrell, Was out in the car yesterday and was playing with the settings for media. Seem to have stumbled on the right combination as it appears tp play album tracks in the right order. Very frustrating. Thanks for your help Steve

  5. There is an alignment mark at the bottom of the windscreen for the blade. For the end of the blade furthest aways from the spindle. SN
  6. Get hold of some 'Metrinch' sockets. I use them all the time. They are designed to grip on the flats of the nut/bolt and not the points. It more or less guarantees that the spocket will not slip. SN
  7. It looks like the plastic end pulls off as it is a seperate part number. You may well then be able to cut the metal lever to shorten it by the required amount. Good luck. SN
  8. Good evening, Spotted today that the lens on one of the front fog lights is cracked. Does the bumper have to come off in order to replace it? SN
  9. I do not believe you have a problem. This is unburnt diesel due to too much fuel for the engine speed. Drive it properly and it will not happen. You will also probably notice smoke when you give the enginge some stick, in the right gear, at night in the head lights of a car following you. SN
  10. I have checked the Witter web-site and they say 'the vehicle does not have the capabiltiy to tow' but a non vRS Fabia does! SN
  11. My book for codes suggests that the probable causes are- trouble codes stored in other systems, wiring, or instrumentation control module Check the fuses, battery condition and load wire from the alternator. SN
  12. I think that the large black hose is a drain fron the battery tray. SN
  13. I would be inclined to check the hose connections to and from the valve as well. SN
  14. I would scan the ABS controller for any fault codes. SN
  15. A good mechanic should be prepared for all eventualities. SN
  16. Does the battery light come on when the ignition is switched on and go off when the engine starts? SN
  17. I would check the steering fluid level, just in case At the end of the steering column is a link piece with a universal joint at each end. The one that connects to the pinion on the rack has a pinch bolt. It would appear that the steering column, the link piece and the universal joint is one part. SN
  18. How many miles has the car done? When did it pass the last MOT? SN
  19. I would check the condition of the battery. Also does the battery light come on when you turn the ignition on and go off when the engine starts? Which model Fabia? SN
  20. I would suggest that you get the ecu scanned for fault codes. You can get a basic cheap code reader from eBay. Once you have a code we will be able to advise you. This is the one I use. U281 VW Audi Skoda Seat VAG CAN BUS Fault Code Reader Scanner diagnostic tool UK£11.81 post free SN
