  1. just after Xmas I bought a nearly new Octavia, it was an ex-demo bought by the dealer from new with 3,000 miles in 2 1/2 months. I filled out all of the paperwork, including the v5, and I added a Service Maintenance and Tyre plan for which I also completed the paperwork. Now 4 weeks later I've received nothing...prior to that I purchase a VW Golf with similar arrangements and had warranty transfer documents, welcome packs, Service Maintenance and Tyre Plan welcome pack, roadside assist etc etc... I know there might be a delay in the DVLA with Xmas etc but would have expected to have received some other letters etc by now....the dealer did make a mistake on the SMT plan, putting the mileage down as 0 rather than 3k so that has to be corrected too and they've never got back to me about repairing a very small ding in the roof either, so the car is great, but the service leaves something to be desired....! What experience has anyone else had and what paperwork should I receive....?
  2. Hi, I'm looking at getting a Greenline estate and wondered what peoples experience of them have been so far....? Thanks Graham
  3. Hi,I'm interested in buying a second hand Superb Greenline but would like to know if its possible to fit the Skoda CD multichanger to replace the single CD palyer....?ThanksGraham
  4. Has anyone used Car Quake...? what was the experience...?ThanksGraham
  5. Hi, I'm looking at buying a second hand Roomster and need some advice on which engine to go for...model-wise I'm assuming the Scout is the one to pick but then should I go for 1.4 or 1.9 diesels...? I drive 16-18,000 per annum of mixed motoring and would like to keep the car for 5 years... So will a 1.4 work for me or do I need to upgrade to a 1.9....? Many thanks
  6. What experience have people had of buying nearly new cars whilst the current scheme of discounts have been in play....? I've noticed that some of the second hand prices for cars less than 12 months old are equivalent to the new car less VAT... I guess the real question is whether I have bargaining power buying nearly new based on the Skoda offers - my last car has been written off so I'm a cash buyer and I need something sooner rather than later so can't wait for delivery of a new vehicle... Thanks Graham
  7. will the 1.6 CR be ok for 100k+ miles do people think....?
  8. Hi, I notice that the S and SE have "lips" on the estate versions and so I wondered if the variable boot floor accessories "level" out the boot...? and if so which of the VBF accessories are required...? Many Thanks Graham
  9. ok, firstly thanks for all your prompt and very useful replies...I just want to clarify that the recommendations are to go for the 1.6 or 2.0 CR rather than PD engines...? So on an Elegance it is just the 1.6 that is available currently...? the 2.0 seems to be just for the higher spec cars at the moment...? whereas there seem to be plenty of 2.0 PDs around in an Elegance model.... Thanks again for your help Graham
  10. Hi, I'm looking to buy a nearly new Octavia Estate, probably Elegance or SE, and am unsure about which engine to go for.... I do 16k-18k per annum probably 25% Town/35% Dual Carriage Way/30% Motorway I'm interested in a Diesel and so would like to understand the pros and cons of the 1.6 versus 1.9 versus 2.0 aside from the obvious fuel comsumption and acceleration... Is the 1.6 enough for an estate....? of should I go for 1.9 and I assume 2.0 is really for extra speed and acceleration....? Many thanks in advance.... Cheers Graham
