  1. and another question..... changed the last digit in the radio code in VAG-Com to a "7" (based on codes for a Passat) and now the radio says "no changer" on the second button-press (at least it does when the cable is connected) so that seems to have worked. But the box still won't fire up, so I susect the pin-outs on the Rhapsody are different to the VW Delta. Anone point me in the direction of somewhere I can find the pin-outs for the Rhapsody? Thanks
  2. I have a '07 Superb Comfort with the Rhapsody radio fitted. The car also has maxi-dot, and multi function steering wheel (optional extras). Here is my story: For a start, the car does not have a cd changer - it's a €400/
  3. Here's my baby. 3 weeks old. Apologies for the quality - camera phone, and the only one I could lay my hands on while the car was clean. 07 Comfort. Storm Blue. 1.9TDi - 115 bhp. Maxidot + MFS Rear Parking sensors.
  4. :iagree: Much nicer front, imho.
  5. One photo shows it as a hatch, another shows as a "boot", but I can't see the join, as it were. Of course, it could be just 2 different white cars.... Overll: I don't know. I'd have to see it in all it's proper glory to judge. And is it just me, but do those headlights have an "evil" look about them????
  6. Coming from an Octavia, here's a few little things I miss Driver stowage. Where am I supposed to keep my bottle of water? And that little pocket on top of the dash was sooo handy.... That little clip on the windscreen for the parking ticket As I say, little things. But I only have it a few days, give me time.....
  7. Far be it for me to criticise someone else's taste, but...... ugh!!!
  8. I can finally throw my name into the pot.... Took delivery on Saturday of my new baby 07 1.9TDi Comfort, Storm Blue, Ivory interior with Indiana Summer wood trim, MFS + Maxidot, rear parking sensors.....
  9. Mine sticks too. But I usually have my credit card in hand at the pumps anyway....
  10. Yup. They're still advertising it on the Irish website here
  11. What bits light up? Top or bottom or both? I like the Octy at night, proper "C" shape to it.
  12. 3 Octys, and new Superb being delivered in January..... Dammit, forgot to order a new pipe and slippers.......
  13. I feel your pain. Did the same thing on brother-in-law's car , tho I'm convinced it was already weakened before I got to it (he had after-market cd-changer fitted by dealer, so I was looking to see how they did it) Gave the problem to a VW buddy of mine. Rather than replace the whole aerial, he cut the end off a new cable and soldered onto the original cable. Whatever material is in the wires, it was very difficult to get the solder to "take". Eventually got it back together (with liberal use of insulating tape, no doubt) so radio works. Not sure if reception quality has been effected, but I have a gut feeling that someday I'll get a call about "the radio won't work...." Overall, I'd say put in the new cable and be done with it.
  14. I "treated" myself to cruise control when I bought mine. Now wouldn't be without it. Use it the whole time.
  15. So you're saying this guy is full of .... Quote: Have you ever noticed that your car is quicker when it is cold outside and wondered why it could not always be that quick? Well this module once fitted sends a signal to the ECU just like it does when it is cold, then the ECU slightly adjusts the air/fuel mixture which boosts your cars power, it is very simple! The best thing is economy is not increased and can be improved with the fitment of this module!
  16. Caught the end of Rambo3 the other night on BBC3... "Dedicated to the gallant people of Afghanistan" I hope they never dedicate anything to me.....
  17. The dash speedo will always read higher than actual. AFAIK it's a legal requirement. However, you know the way you can get "actual speed" up on the climate control display (as described here)..... How accurate is that ? My speedo seems to be consistently about 5% above the number shown.....
  18. Yup, they go flat or as near as dammit. The painful part isn't taking off the headrests tho.... it's what to do with them! Ever try to explain how mud got on the top of a headrest????
  19. On my third Octy. Think I'll try a Superb next......
  20. When I bought my first Octy (in 2001), one of the first comments I got in work was an excited phone call urging me to "go out to the car park, quick. Some dirt bag is after sticking Skoda badges on your new car"
  21. In Ireland, they're only available on the Elegance. As far as I know, they're not even available as an "option" on the Classic and Ambiente specs.
  22. I used to hear the noise behind me, but always thought it was speaker hiss from the door speaker behind me. It was only whan I had my parents in the car (and hence no radio on!) that I realised I could still hear it. At least now I know it's a known problem, I can get the dealer to fix it.
  23. AFAIK, the "remaining" is calculated based on consumption over the last 50 miles or so. This would explain the differences that Lady Elanore spotted.....
  24. Ah right. Mine seems to be the older Stream (built in April, I think) and doesn't have an Aux option anywhere. That's that theory scuppered.....
