  1. Hi, sent you a message.. I test drove one of those WRC vRS back in 2002. a new skoda dealer in liverpool got hold of one, it had ESP and Xenon's etc. Gorgeous car but i had to have a brand new one and that one was pre-used. dont know which out of the 100 ever made it was?
  2. Hi All, Well sadly my vRS has got to go back to the leasing company soon and I was forced to order my replacement two months ago. So couldn't wait for the new vRS due October!. Anyway, I asked my fleet manager if i could fit my own stereo to the car but was very evasive with the real truth. Meanwhile 3 amps, 1 12inch sub and 4 sets of speakers later I have a problem. What it is, when i got sextons to do the install (Within 3 days of picking the car up) they had a problem building a rear parcel shelf. Cause of the angles it would work out too expensive. So i priced up a replacement rear parcel shelf and it war around
  3. Hello Everyone, I only have about 3 months left in my vRS before I get me new Octavia but I must tell you lads and lassies about a ONGOING problem with the rear brakes on my June 2003 Red vRS. about two months ago i was just about to go away in the caravan (No i cant believe i fitted a towbar on a vRS either!) and noticed that the rear brakes looked a little low. I phoned Horners and whipped it in for replacement disks and pads. When I got it back the brakes screeched intermittantly whenever i did forward braking a nd hurendusly when i did reverse braking. Back in again, after some strategic grinding the techys declared problem solved. More like insolved!!! Back again, this time another series of grinding and a different techy. Got it back, no forward screeching again ever but the rear braking... Well lets put it this way, my boss sits in the opposite side of the building at our office in st. ives and he could hear me reversing into a parking place through 1 exterior wall and two interior walls and god knows umpteen amounts of double glazing. Back Again, involved Skoda customer services and the lease company. Then got it back and yet still not right, making god awful sound, do they test drive this with my stereo on? (IT IS BLOODY LOUD). 4th time lucky, "we have herd from the factory that on all vRS made in end 2004 onwards there is a fault with the brakes whereby some clips are missing which stops the pads from moving inside the caliper housing." Thank God I thought. Got the car back last Friday and guess what....It is still bloody doing it. So i have booked it in for a week on friday and told them if it is not fixed this time i am going to steel a furby vRS from there show room!!! NOTE: NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM WITH SQUEELIN ON THE BRAKES IN THE WHOLE 21 MONTH previous!! Only since new brake pads and disks fitted to rear (Yes noise is from rear) Sounds like a giant hitachi earth digger movin accross a ships hull!!! Interested to know some of you lots thoughts.

  5. Hi Guys, I was on here before but lost my login details. Used to be known as nczernus. I have just ordered my replacement company vehicle. New Octavia Elegance 2.0 FSI HB with Xenon Headlights Full Leather Interior incl Heated front seats and active headrests Light Assist ESP Tyre Pressure Monitors Black Magic Pearl effect paint Multi-function steering wheel with Maxi-dot My current vehicle red octavia vRS HB with Cruise is by far the most fantastic car I have ever driven. I will be shedding a few tears when it goes back to the lease company. sadly the new vRS is not out yet and I must order a new now for delivery in 8 weeks. I currently have a fully maxed up sound system in the vRS. The only problem I have is that a little dickie bird tells me the integrated radio in the new octavia displays data from the tyre pressure monitors and also displays a proximity graphical display for the rear parking sensors. My question is, since i am getting maxi-dot anyway, will the above mentioned data by displayed by maxi dot (I think not to be honest) or will I have to keep the origional radio so as to display and utillise accessory data? Would love to know if I could still put in my old sound system:- Focal 165H in front doors Pioneer TS8565 rear parcel shelf Alpine Type R 12inch Sub Kenwood 628 x 2 for front and rears Kenwood 8151 mono sub amp Pioneer DEP8000H MP3 Dual display head unit or is it best to retire the system. I am aware that a huge blanking plate is required to cover the origional stero location and apparently looks very unsitely Help Please.
