  1. Hi,I need some help. Octavia Vrs 2004. My blowers stopped working on the way home from work, strange hissing from the glovebox and the passenger footwell is wet!! I'm thinking heater matrix?? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?? Also how much is this gonna sting me right on Xmas?? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
  2. Thanks everyone, The OEM Spiders are a 7" rim, (double checked my spare to be sure). The 205 seems to be approw £30 - £40 more expensive per rim as its an aukward size! I had heard that alot of people had switched to the 225 but wanted to make sure it wouldnt cause me problems. I bought the car from a VW dealer and it came with the cheapest of the cheap infinitys on the rear and second cheapest of the cheap champions (or somthing like that) on the front leaving me with no traction in the wet and even the rear has broke away from me a couple of times so i need to do all 4. Costco have Michelin Pilot Sport 3's for just over £100 in the 225 and Continetal Sport 3's for a few quid cheaper. I checked them out on the web and both seem higly rated, Any other suggestions? (Without making the bank cry preferably!).
  3. Hey Everyone, Can you help? I have a octavia vrs 2004 and i need new tyres, currently it is on the standard wheels running 205/50/17's, i have heard its not a prob to go with either 215/45's or 225/45's, i know the 225's offer less of a change to the speedo about 0.4% but i wanted your opinions as some tyre places wont fit anything but 205's to it. Has anyone changed to a different tyre size? What are the poss and negs? Your opinions are very much appreciated!! Cheers Al.
  4. Ill give the wiring a try, cheers everyone. Let you know how i get on as soon as poss!
  5. Hey, cheers for the response, Yeah it was definatly the engine management light and it was all definatly cleared after the plugs were replaced. Im absolutley stumped by the prob, so was hoping someone had faced the same prob at some point and could tell me the solution!
  6. Hey, Can anyone help? The engine management light came on my Fabia VRS. It read that one of the glow plugs was shot so i replaced them all. However the light is back on and saying the same thing, (Glow plug on cylinder 2). Ive taken the plug out and tested it and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it. Can anyone suggest what else it could be??
  7. Thanx for the reply, Im in medway (kent) i think impossible performance would be the most local but from what i can gather on here they are going through a bit of a move at the mo so prob not the best time to contact them. I here that the cold air pipe down to behind the front bumper gives good performance results along side a remap, but there seems to be a question over that on here??? CONFUSSLING!!! As for the warrenty well the paperwork seems to say that non oem parts will not be covered, and thats it. But im sure you knw what its like as soon as you change anything, any and every fault from there on has to be related to the non standard bulb you have put in etc etc.
  8. Hey everyone, Sorry to start up prob age old debates but im new to the site and just bought my first skoda. The car is a 54 plate octavia VRS (mk1). My plan is to get a remap asap along with a dump valve and air filter, my questions are, What dump valve to go for? ADB cool air pipe with induction kit or panel filter? Where to go for fitting and mapping? And lastly, As i bought the car from a vw dealer it came with a approved vw warrety, am i kissing goodbye to that with these few mods? Cheers for your help and advice! Oh p.s - where can i get some stainless seal plates, maybe with a VRS badge on to protect inside the door shuts, previous owner has put a couple of scrathes in there already??
  9. Hey everyone, Im a newbie to briskoda and new to the skoda world! Just bought a 54 plate octavia vrs, black and completely standard as far as i knw. Love the car, prob gonna have loads of questions over the next few weeks so sorry in advance!!
