  1. Everyone has their reasons... Mine is that I am likely installing a hybrid turbo and having a custom tune. It was a 'how' rather than 'why' question.
  2. I would like to upgrade the front brakes on the 2016 Octavia 1.4T DSG. I believe the stock brakes have 276mm rotors. I would like to install the brakes from the VW GTI or Golf R but I read this is not possible on models with the 276mm rotors? To make this upgrade work, what would I have to change? The hub carrier or steering knuckle?
  3. They sell them in Czech and other places in Europe but pricey at ~ EUR85 per door. See link for part #s http://www.oemepc.com/skoda/part_single/catalog/sk/markt/CZ/modell/SUP/year/2006/drive_standart/265/hg_ug/853/subcategory/853030/part_id/0/lang/e
  4. Can buy them brand new in Germany for EUR 137. Can you be a bit more flexible on price? I will cover shipping (intl - can have item picked up).
  5. Thanks for the advice everyone. I am running Bilstein HDs with stock springs. I think I may just opt for Eibach springs and replace the 2 front struts with the correct parts. Was kind of reluctant to do as import taxes on auto parts in Israel run 47%!
  6. I have had my 2006 Superb 1.8T for almost six years now. Shortly after acquiring the car, I added Bilsteins all around along with a rear sway bar to tighten up the handling. This worked, however my car sits way too high - almost like a Yeti in front. As it turns out I purchased the wrong Bilsteins! Mine fit a 2004 Passat 1.8T. Naturally they bolted on fine, but the cars are apparently not identical. While the correct thing to do is to replace the Bilsteins with the proper parts, I am wondering whether it is possible to modify (remove and re-weld) the spring perch so that the car sits a bit lower? Also would trimming the springs a bit help as well? I know these are not the proper solutions, but it simply does not pay for me to invest in another set of Bilsteins. After driving the for 5+ years like this it simply drives me nuts to look at it. Any suggestions are welcome. 2006 Skoda Superb 1.8T tiptronic ATP GTRS Eliminator turbo, fmic, custom tuning Autotech rear swaybar Bilstein HD ECS B5 Passat Front Big Brake Upgrade
  7. In fitting a custom exahust to my Superb I would like to fit a new center resonator. Will a 6" round 36" overall length resonator fit in the center of the car?
  8. Thanks... The code I am getting is 17968/P1560/005472 - 17968 - Maximum Engine Speed Exceeded (Engine Warranty VOID! ? ) . I think what happened is that my custom engine tune altered the rev limiter on the engine, but the transmission control module only knows from the original rev limit. Anyone have any idea how I can recode this rev limiit for the transmission?
  9. I recently installed a big turbo setup on my 2006 Skoda Superb 1.8T with the Tiptronic transmission (yes I know about the torque capacity). When I floor the car the tiptronic trasmission sometimes goes into limp mode ((all the gear position indicator lights on my instrument panel are highlighted). I am wondering if anyone knows why this is? When I shut off the ignition and restart the car, this problem disappears. Thank you
  10. I currently have a non-multifunction 4 spoke wheel. I suppose I will also need the airbag unit that fits the Octavia VRS steering wheel.
  11. Hello everyone, I recently purchased a 2006 Skoda Superb Elegance 1.8T. Does anyone know where I can find rubber floor mats for the car (I am located in Israel, so the car is left hand drive)? Thanks
