  1. Hi All, I'm looking to get a kodiak and leave BMW world, but have a few questions. 1) Is the panoramic sunroof more hassle than it's worth? I've read quite a few posts with comments talking about how they leak. Is that a true reflection or are the problems just overstated? 2) Was the family pack (door guards and sun blinds) only ever an option i.e. was it ever standard on L&K models? 3) I know the matrix LED headlights are standard on the new facelift model, but did any of the previous models have LED lights? 4) Could be subjective (based on size and shape), but are the seats in the sportline more figure hugging than the L&K? My preference is a 2020/21 vehicle, but worst case a new one Any help greatly appreciated. Regards EB
  2. Thanks for the response, and fully understand the point about personal taste. I can live with a growl on the exhaust note I'm going to try one later in the week. There's also a solid grey colour that I find strangely appealing. Just have to make sure I can get all the buttons I need.
  3. Hi Guys, I'm feeling the call of the mark 3 Superb 4x4 280bhp as a sensible option, although I'm not sure which version to get that engine in. I really do like the seats in the Sportline and Sportline Plus, but are these sports seats available as an option on any other version? I found the L&K seats quite wallowy and I slid about a bit in them, but I do love the gadgets. A friend of mine has an octavia VRS and mentioned that Skoda doesn't do the exhaust pops that VW and Audi do, is this also the case with the Sportline plus 280 4x4? I'm coming from a BMW 530d and tying to resist the new 540ixdrive (which is just way overpriced), so I want a fair about of go. My mileage has significantly dropped and will be less than 8000 per year now. A strange set of requirements, but any help greatly appreciated. Regards
  4. Hi Guys, Nearly 5 years since I last owned a Skoda Superb, and am looking for another. I have a commute covering 20K miles (mostly motorway) a year and am looking into the mark 2 estate 170 DSG, preferably an L&K if I can find a one at a decent price. Last time I got a shed load of advice on this friendly forum about things to look out for. If you can help again, or direct me to the right place I can only be grateful. Regards
  5. Thanks for the replies, so was there any model year where bluetooth was standard, or was it always an option?
  6. Can I assume that the 2011 year model will come with bluetooth, or is that something I will have to look out for (as well as Sat Nav)?
  7. Thanks for all the advice guys. I've been looking at the forums and keep seeing references to maxi dot. Will this be standard on the model I'm looking for? Also, apart from the wheels what are the other differences with the black line model?
  8. Hi, This might have been covered elsewhere, but I need some advice on buying an Octavia Mk II VRS TDI DSG. I'd like to get a 2011 year model, is there anything I should look out for, is this a good car? The auto box is a must as is the diesel variant. I'm currently doing around 18000 miles a year. Any help much appreciated. Regards Enoch
  9. Glad you like it. It was a pleasure to sell it to you. I can't remember, but do check the receipts in the pack I gave you, but the gearbox oil might have been done. Happy motoring.
  10. Hi, Has anyone got the TV through the sat nav unit working? In the manual it looks like it's an option. I spoke to one audio dealer and they quoted £675 to get it working - seems a bit steep! Is it easier to fit a new all singing and dancing double DIN unit to do everything? Also, anyone know anyone who can do the water ingress fix in north Surrey? Regards
  11. That's not bad at all. Have you noticed any drop in fuel economy? If you wouldn't mind sharing the details of the upgrade (where it was done etc.) that would be appreciated.
  12. Hi Guys, Just wanted to say thanks for all the help and advice on which Superb to buy. The search was finally concluded yesterday when I picked up a 55 plate 1.9 Auto Edition 100 (a rare beast indeed!) Thanks once again. If I get any issues, I know where to look for the answers. Regards EnochB
  13. I drove another 2.5V6TDI which was much better than the first one, and was a 57 plate going for £12.5, which is steep to say the least. It was in very good condition, but may as well go for the new one at that money. Response was actually very good on this one. But it's too expensive. Spent a good few hours looking through this forum for details on forum users with a 2.5 V6TDI. Lots of information there but maybe better to avoid the 2.5 altogether. I haven't heard any responses on the 1.9 Auto? Anyone?
  14. Certainly do appreciate all the comments and advice. The trouble I'm having now is finding the car. The only one I found and drove was not in the best state of health as I'm sure it had been in a smash before. Both right side doors required a lot of persuasion to get them open from the inside (and no the child lock was not activated) , whereas the left hand side was fine. I'm now thinking of changing the budget to allow for a newer vehicle with lower mileage, but does anyone know whether an £6k 80,000 miler will last for 4-5 years at 15-20000 miles a year, or should I look at a £10k car with about 50000 on the clock?
  15. Ok, I hear the comments about the 1.9TTDI. Manual is not really an option for me, so has anyone 'chipped' a 1.9?
