  1. My 2014 VRS is quieter and a better ride than my 2010 MkII, although the latter was a diesel and my MkIII is a petrol so I guess not a direct comparison Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
  2. I meant to say BBS SR 18" Himalaya satin grey, but can't find ET details etc.
  3. I haven't seen the bulletin, but am sure it's not just a software update, as the dealer couldn't fix mine on a visit for two other issues besides the Bi Xenon controller fault (turn engine sound 'symposer' down, fix headlamp washer covers so they fully retracted) because they had to order a new controller. They contacted me to book another appointment when the new controller was in stock.
  4. I don't know what-the-hell my dealer did when fixing mine, but it left a hair-line paint scratch under each washer cover, like someone had prized each one out with a screwdriver to get at the mechanism. Bodge-job or what?!
  5. Skoda have issued a technical Bulletin on this fault. Mine was doing the same thing; intermittent 'lamp failure; driver's side dipped beam' and amber warning triangle staying lit on the dash for the duration of my journey, then disappearing for a few days, before happening again. Booked my car into the dealers who mentioned the technical bulletin and ordered a new control unit for the lights, which when fitted, appears to have solved the problem.
  6. Yep. I'm sure they should be able to do it and turn it down to whatever % you want. Don't know if they can set it to zero or not.
  7. I had the same warning and have taken mine in to the dealers. They have had a technical bulletin from Skoda on this and have ordered a new "control unit" which is going to be fitted on Wednesday. My warning message was intermittent, came on a few times when starting at night with the headlights switch at the 'Auto' position, then stopped happening, but I'm glad I kept my appointment at the dealers. While I was at it, had my headlamp washers adjusted, so they now retract properly and my sound synthesiser turned down to 50%; am much happier with the more muted sound in Sport Mode now.
  8. I bought the BBS SRs in the 18" size which made them 8J width rather than 7.5J and they still fit within the wheel arches fine and look and drive great so you won't have any issues with your proposed purchase Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  9. I wonder if I can just pull mine out with all the cables and send it you! I'm really not that bothered for it!
  10. Hi guys. Glad the links worked. My wheels are 18" BBS SRs in 'Himalayan' satin grey with Nokian WR A3 winter tyres on them. Have a set of Pictoris waiting at the dealers to be delivered to my house when they 'have the capacity' on the parts van. Think I like Mence's Geminis better than the Pictoris, having seen them on the car!
  11. Mence, love yours without the black-pack; roof-rails and grill surround look great, as do Geminis. I'm trying to share a link to a couple of picks of mine. I hope this works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v1884jmlkaylxes/2014-01-05%2013.56.28.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/3sb5zsdw2c2mdei/2014-01-05%2013.55.40.jpg
  12. I thought that because Skodas have fan-jet washers, that many other types of screen-washes had a tendency to clog those nozzles, so only VAG screenwash is suitable. Is this wrong? It looks like it from the variety of screen-wash additives you are all using!
  13. Picked my vRS up this morning; the car was stood in the show-room waiting for me. By the time I got home, with an outside temperature of ~6 degrees, my headlights looked like those in the pics above, with a strip of condensation ~1.5" tall, just above the DRLs. Have used my headlights late afternoon and the strips have reduced but not gone completely.
  14. Picking up my Meteor Grey combi tomorrow. Have seen it in the flesh today when I went to complete the paperwork and it looks great with the black-pack and grey piping on the seats, not red. I've had 18" BBS SR Himalayan satin grey winter alloys and Nokian tyres fitted and they look good too. Getting quite excited now, as ordered it the last week in July!
  15. Anybody tried 18" x 8J wheels with 225/40/18 tyres? I was assured by the supplier that they should fit my vRS, but the standard Pictoris and Gemini are 7.5J?
  16. Wait and register 2014... unless you think it will spoil your Christmas by not relaxing!
  17. It does look great! Thought it might be too much; black with a black pack, but as you say, looks like a real Stealth Bomber
  18. Thanks Rakash. I was looking at them on www.wheelbasealloys.com as a package with Nokian WR A3 winter tyres, at £1249.00. Sounds expensive compared with what you said in Euros.
  19. OK ta, I'm really interested as to how you get on. I noticed that the Neptunes for my Mk. II FL are ET50, but don't know if I can apply the same assumption to a Mk. III if ordering 17" wheels.
  20. Did they fit when they arrived? What ET were they?
  21. I had my week 47 confirmed last week and have quite a lot of 'awkward' options on my petrol combi Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  22. Looks great with the red stitching / seat inlays
