  1. I bought the car in January 2010 and owned it in until I sold it in September of last year. In the time I had it the only trouble I had with it were the DPF(DPF Delete done), injectors(covered under recall) and a faulty EGR Valve. There was 27k miles when I bought the car from a Mazda dealership in Oxford and imported it to Ireland. I serviced it every 7-8k miles after that and did the timing belt at 51k miles due to a slight leak in the water pump. Modifications I did include: H&R Front & Rear Anti Roll Bars H&R Twintube Coilovers(SEEM TO BE GONE NOW) Diesel Geek Short Shifter Brembo Grand Turismo 330mm Brakes 18" BBS RG406 wheels Pioneer AVIC 9110BT Radio Cruise Control Retrofit Colour Coded Grill The car was washed and cleaned on a weekly basis and won prizes at Dubshed, Castlewellan, Limerick and Fermoy car shows. The guy I sold it to is from Cork also but is not on any car forums that I know of. I have no idea why he is selling so soon. If you need me more info give me a shout on the numbe on the original add.

  5. I'm thinking of upgrading the clocks in my 2006 VRS TDI to Maxidot clocks. What I'm wondering is if I picked up a set of Maxidot Cloocks from a Facelift VRS will these be compatible with my car?
  6. DPF removal and Map is probably going to cost you €500-€600. There's no-one in Cork who would be able to do this. As said above Joe Power in Dublin did mine and I'd highly reccomend him. You will find the car drives much freeier and better with an increase in MPG. Your welcome to a spin in mine at some stage if it makes up your mind!
  7. Are the injectors now supplied the same part number and when did VAG change them?
  8. From by experience MIchelin Pilot Sport 3 are one of the best out there but everyone has their own personal preference with regard to tyres.
  9. I'm from Cork so as your from Tipp we may as well talk in euro's!! A new injector and loom will set you back around €700. Your talking another €200 to €300 for stripping and fitting depending on where you go. When an injector goes doen the ECU shuts down the engine to protect the engine. You can determine which injector is at fault by pulling out one injector at a time untill the engine starts on 3 injectors!
  10. I had the same symptons before and it turned out to be an injector after going down. I hope I'm wrong as its a costly fix but it is a common enough fault in those Seimens injectors. However until you get it scanned with VCDS we are only guessing.
  11. I'd be thinking there's an injector gone down, get it scanned with VCDS and this will confirm. That is the exact same symptons when mine went.
  12. Personally I think its better to do the belt and pump at 60k miles. I'm sure the belt will last for longer than that but it's not something I'd be taking a chance on. I think the water pumps are much more prone to failure than the belt. If you are doing the belt it would be silly not to do the water pump too.
  13. Why didn't you just get rid of it, I had all my DPF problems sorted for around £450 by getting rid of the DPF.
  14. I have a PD170, I started with DPF Delete and remap, fitted a Dieselgeek shortshifter, Brembo 330mm brakes and fitting H&R coilovers and H&R Front & Rear ARB's next week. Think the brakes and suspenstion have to be looked after if you want the car to handle the extra power safely.
  15. Could you not just fit an S3 intercooler, a friend fitted one to his PD140 MK5 Golf and it was pretty much a straight swap from what I can remember.
  16. Thanks for that bus far as I can see that is for the plastic undertray which comes with the car. I should have made it more clear at the start but what I'm after is the metal sump guard!
  17. As above, would anyone have the part number for Sump Guard and Brackets etc for an Octavia II RS please?
  18. Might sound a stupid question, but how do I find out which is the correct strut diameter for my car?
  19. As above will coilovers fitted to a MK5 Golf GTI fit an Octavia RS or are they a different fitting?
  20. Ya did it myself with VAGCOM, I'm sure a fellow member with VAGCOM close to you could help with the coding as its only a few minutes to do!
