insurance in europe has turned out to be a "killer" if only i was 25 :no:

hi, i have an 03 plate silver vrs, 99k miles, fsh, mesh gril, just had new rear brakes and antil roll bushes(?), mot until june, other than that its unmodified so you can have fun with it. drives perfect. only reason for selling it is that im a student in budapest and the cover for europe and normal insurance is way more than i expected. il be honest 2 of the alloys have curbing and a scratch on the rear bumper, also could do with a valet for the seats. as its just sitting on my dads drive in england for the last week and will be there until i can sell or sort out insurance. let me know if your intersted il send you pictures and we can sort out a price etc.

im using the car there so thats why i take it out with me. in theory you can get it register there but its similar prices becasue they insure the car rather than the driver and its alot of hassle getting it done and with the police (they seem to take a liking to cars with the "cc" foreign plated cars.) 470 would be perfect for me lol.

i only got my first vrs a month ago, iots been really nice other than the insurance. i study in budapest and need the european cover. with it and the normal insurance i have to fork out nearly £2200. thats too much for most students to pay for insurance. can anybody recommend any ways to get it down or anthing, because if not i might have to sell. please help il be back in england next weekend and need to try and sort something out by then. thanks.

i really want 1 of these they look cool and have all the features, got a few questions though, 1- can i gt sat nav maps to cover all of europe? 2- iv got a amp connected to subs, will this connect and work properly with the unit? 3- there is no way i could install this, im cr*p at this kinda thing, can anybody tell me where i can get it all installed good or can anybody do it for me ? iv been looking through various forums and i think im more confused on what to do now. im looking for just a generic remap for my octy mrk1 with "the best" bhp n torque increases, but iv read that there is a limit to the amount of torque the OEM clutch can take and something about the petrol used alter the effects. :S basically i really want to keep the everything standard other than the remap and run it on normal petrol, what would be the best figures i "should be able" to achieve? which remap is recommended? (shark, revo, jabba)

thanks for the advice guys, i think mainly il just try n split the drive over 3 days to give me n the car a rest. i might get a new exhaust, mine seems to be blowing abit and i dont want to have any problem with it while im there, and the remap when i gt around to it. lol il be sure to miss belgium ( bodge).

at the end of jan, in taking my car with me to uni.....in BUDAPEST. iv had it serviced last week, new tyres and new pads all round. since il be doin 2500-3000 miles in a day, is there anything else that i can check or change for the drive and the 6 months itl be with me before i drive it back. also, remaps? shark sts or revo? (only non-OEM thing i want in the car.)

any luck with the engine? honestly i think ul get more from just breaking the car, im sure ul have no probz i selling the majority of parts on here quick..

iv seen this turbo problem before with 1 ov my mates, never got to the bottom of it tho, he wrote the car off a few weeks after the 2nd turbo failed. but he also checked the pipes n pressures etc. and they wernt at fault. if you do decide to break, il have ur front bumper....at a good price . . pm me your number n price if u do decide to break, thanks.

iv had a seat cupra before and there was a nice sort of whistling noise from the enigine (when the turbo kicks in) while going throught the revs, not getting the same nosie from my octavia vrs, is this how it is in the vrs? (turbo kicks in fine n smooth all the way in each gear). also, it is wiser to get my dv fitted before or after a remap, is there a difference?

iv just got my octavia vrs and need to get it insured soon. best quote so far is around 1900 with european cover, im 22, 3 years drivin but no NCB, can AF better the quote, im a in hungary right now, is it possible for AF to get in call me while im here.(pm u my number if u can)

just got my 2003 octavia rs in place of a 2001 celica turbo, should have made the change long ago tbh. miles better car imo. i want to get started on modifiying it asap starting with remap and dv, as suspension, breakes etc are been done tomorrow. its got 97k on it, any advice on what and where i should get the remap n dv from? thanks/
