  1. The button was on the Octavia not the Superb. I was saying that it used to prove that they were all linked. My Superb reacts exactly as my old Octavia did just without the ability to disable the dimming via a button. I recommend that you get someone to take a look at your setup to see if anything is amiss. All three mirrors should be working together and they should dim significantly.
  2. Bringing this back on topic and away from the weekly "all Superbs are terrible" rant... I spec'ed the wireless charging to get the phonebox signal booster and feel it's worth it for the 1 or 2 bars of extra signal. I don't feel that the wireless charging on its own is that useful - most smartphones support Android Auto or CarPlay, both of which require you to plug in a USB cable...
  3. The side mirrors are definitely electronically controlled and dim with the rear view mirror. Same as my old Octavia which had the same non-dimming border. You could prove that they were electronically controlled on that one by pushing a button on the rear view mirror that turned off the dimming - the side mirror would almost instantly un-dim. If yours arent going very dim then either they need to be checked or you might want to rethink their positions.
  4. As others have said it varies wildly depending on the spec ordered and what's going on in the VW supply chain. I ordered an L&K 190 DSG 4x4 in September and picked it up last week. Took about 16 weeks from order to arriving at the dealers, although that included Christmas.
  5. The vents in the seats can be used with the heaters to help dry you if you're damp (and imho look better than the plain leather). I second the calls for reversing camera, smart lights, shift paddles and the rear blinds. All I'd say are now essentials for me. I ended up ordering most of the extras including the net partition, rear seat release, variable boot and tow bar. The seat release is handy if you are going to be dropping the seats often and isn't that expensive. The variable boot floor is great for hiding clutter, adds flexibility (flat cargo space with the seats down) and is much better designed than the old system - you can drop the floor down in seconds and there are no gaps. The net partition is handy for those times when the boot is full to the brim with cargo that can shift - if you're not doing that then it's pretty useless.
  6. Picked mine up at the start of the week. I can confirm that the mode button is present and there is now a speed limiter on cars with ACC. No idea if this is retrofitable for older cars.
  7. Do you have the net partition attached? If so you can remove it by folding the seats flat and sliding it towards the right hand door. Once removed you will be able to split the seats.
  8. I do a lot of kayaking so roof rails are a must plus the extra height in the estate boot comes in handy every now and then. I also think that the side storage is better designed in the estate and the retractable cover is more practical compared to the parcel shelf.
  9. I use Pocket GPS World who have pretty accurate locations and aren't too expensive (£20 per year).
  10. Whoops my mistake - I posted the rim width for the 17" Octavia Pegasus wheels. The 0.5" difference in the other direction shouldn't make a difference either.
  11. They should fit without any trouble. The Pegasus wheels are 7" wide and the Turini are 7.5" which will make little difference.
  12. I'm sorry to say that you're right - without an official Skoda SD card it won't work. A bit braindead if you ask me considering that updates are now free.In the meantime if you're desperate for navigation you can use CarPlay or Android Auto.
  13. Sitting at the lights behind a modded VW Lupo with the usual mods: lowered suspension, blacked out windows, neverbeen sticker and... a custom turned up exhaust pipe sticking up about a foot. Made me chuckle while I wondered about the practicalities.
  14. Finally got a confirmed build week of 3rd week of December (ordered 20th September).
  15. The Haldex system should easily be able to cope with those conditions. I drove through Holmefirth during the snow with my Octavia 2 Scout and the only things that kicked in were TCS and ABS...
  16. You still need reflectors for when the xenon are turned off. They're also there to help fill up the rest of the headlight assembly.
  17. Latest provisional date for me is week 2, ordered on 20th September. I've ordered a 190 diesel 4x4 so the delays aren't limited to just petrol engines.
  18. "Petrol Blue" is only available as metallic, the non-metallic blue is "Pacific Blue".
  19. The link with the ACC was the reason that I went for a DSG box on my new Superb. Can't wait until it arrives!
  20. My main ones are: "No Such Thing as a Fish" (the QI elves podcast), "Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project" (behind the scenes of Mythbusters and other things Savage has been up to) and "Podcastle - Shut Up & Sit Down" (board gaming and related).
  21. If it's a MY17 care it should have wireless charging. You can double-check by looking in the phone box for the Qi logo inside the phone:
  22. The manual for Bolero/Amundsen/Columbus says on page 35 it says you can have two devices connected at the same time: Hands Free Protocol (incoming & outgoing calls), SMS, contacts and Bluetooth audio. Hands Free Protocol (incoming calls only) and Bluetooth audio.
  23. True, the CR 140 in my Octy Scout is still loosening up a bit after 30k.
