After Finding one all the way down in Southampton which is 4 hours away here she is A Massive thanks to Vegasphil for the brew and being honest about the car. Few Things i want to change in the future, such as springs and new radio but other than that just enjoy it.

  8. Im abit torn at the moment with lowering my octavia. if i go for a full suspension kit or just springs? i only want to lower it by about 30ml but im not sure what kit to go for. ive had eibach springs on a astra i used to have and they were brilliant but what they like on the octavias? am i putting the shocks under to much strain? or am i best going for a full kit so i have best of both worlds new shocks and spring but cost alot more? helppppppp.

  11. Hi guys, Ive returned to skoda after a year of having a SEAT, I bought myself a MK1 octavia VRS, which i am having a few problems with. At Idle you get a petrol smell into the cabin of the car. Im new to these engine and dont really know much about them. please help thanks
  12. Where abouts did you get the car from? i sold mine to a dealer on similer milage not long ago, spoke to the dealer who said it had been sold.
  13. i have had the same problem with my Octavia aswell gets taken in and no fault found, now recently it put itself into limp mode so went in for a regen, but yet the problem is still there idles at 1k the turbo goes loud etc etc, now everytime i took it in they said the car had been tuned (they can check for this btw). the worse thing though is that the DPF filters arnt covered under warranty so expect a massive bill. also i have never had anymore than 45mpg showing and it always avarages around 38-40mpg. I realised how much this would cost me and was lucky enough to part x the car for something else i know its not much help but your not the only person out there.
  14. the car is on a 07 plate, its on 22.5k the car went into limp mode on 21k the car does motorway journeys every other day for about 15-20miles there and back then does town driving on the weekend, but the car has to go down a 70mph bypass on the way back home.
  15. Well about 1300 miles ago i had to have my car regenerated by the main dealer which ment it had to get recovered by the RAC, i had to pay 45quid to get it regenerated and was told all would be fine, well for the past 4 days my DPF light has been on now it came back on while on the motorway, I then rang the dealer who said get skoda assist out and he will clear it when they came out they didnt clear it., i then rang the dealer back who said take it down the motorway for a long run which i did then it went off. I also explained to the dealer that i cant keep having my car regenerated after 1000miles or so to which i got a reply of " I know" but he wudnt book it in to have a look because there is no fault with the car. i am getting very p***ed off with this car the DPF light has been on about 6 times in my year off ownership and been into limp mode twice. I am currantly looking into new cars and its a shame because i love this car but the DPF problems are driving me mad. sorry for the rant
  16. Mine does the same it is the DPF just doing some cleaning, it also makes the car drive lumpy, i normaly just take the car for a quick blast and usual sorts it out
  17. How do they work? Sounds like a dumb question but i went to the shop before and felt the car pulling, pulled in and saw that my front passenger tyre was flat. Should the light have come on? i checked my tyres about week and half ago and re-set by pressing and keeping hold of the button.
  18. My car got a regen about 2 weeks ago which cost me £41 and the dealer said that its down to my driving style which is funny because i have been doing alot of motorway work, he also said to me that the car isnt made for short trips so going to the tip or going into town is a big no no for these car :S Lets just say i was shocked and also couldnt belive what he said.
  19. PSM- I know they did 2 different desiel engine i have the old PD unit, i didnt know they had updated the TFSI unit
  20. Thanks for the replys so is there 2 different engines in the VRS petrols then? newer unit and a older unit? i do love my diesel and i love the mid range pull, just dont want anything to go wrong with it because i will be doing town driving.
  21. Just wondered if anyone on here has driven them both or indeed owned both? i am thinking about trading my PD in for a petrol version as im not doing the miles anymore and wantted to know how does the TFSI compaire? i know MPG will differ but all i want to know do the cars handle different? what about mid range power and what sort of MPG are people getting out of TFSI? thanks shaun
