  1. My wife's car - also a superb was in for a service last week and also had to get the bushes done. Contacted Skoda Ireland and they basically said that they were not covered under warranty as they were considered a serviceable item as with brakes and tires. My previous 3 cars - 2 skoda and 1 vw all departed my possession with 120 - 150k and no bushes replaced!! Other manufacturers actually give 5 years warranty on these items. I hope that the wheel has not gone full circle and that we are back to the old skoda reliability!!
  2. Hi Folks, I dropped my car in for a service yesterday and was gobsmacked to learn that it needed new wishbone bushes. The roads in the area where I are on a main thoroughfare and in reasonably good condition. The car has just come up to 50k miles. Is this work not a bit premature?
  3. Hi Folks, I have a 2010 superb greenline which doesn't have parking sensors or a bolero radio/cd. Can these units be fitted now or was it a factory fit only? - my wife has trouble parking!! Cheers, Horse.
  4. Could be the mechanical in the Water Pump. Horse.
  5. Hi Cown, I got the 6 replaced in November last, out of the 6 removed only 2 were working and when replaced - it made a big difference in starting. But leading up to the glow plug change - I had no warning lights. Regards, Horse.
  6. Hi Folks, Yesterday I noticed after starting my car, the glow plug light started flashing with the prompt "Engine Workshop" on my LCD Screen. Has anyone come across this and what is the fix? The car is 2002 / 2.5 TDI Cheers, Horse.
  7. Hi Folks, I intend to give the car carpet & seats a cleaning as they are long overdue. Is it a big job to remove the front seats as it would make the job a tad handier. Thanking you in advance. Regards, T.
  8. has not set their status

  9. Hi Scruffie, You can send me an e-mail. Regards, Horse.
  10. Hi Folks, I have settled on the Superb Greenline thanks to your valued comments, -MUCH APPRECIATED- expected delivery date 18-Feb-2010. Regards, Horse
  11. Lads, Thanks very much for the replies - as a newbie to the site , I find it excellent with everyone having a wealth of information - keep up the good work. If K.Young could come back to me ref Bluefin or Revo with SPS as I am (Pardon The Pun) a bit Green in this department and would like a better understanding of what is involved. I should have the car in mid Feb and must say that I'm quite looking forward to it. One other quick question is if I wanted to refit the Swing Radio with a Bolero Touch screen where would I get it done here in Ireland and would the speakers need to be changed or are they adequate? Regards, Horse.
  12. Folks, We are gone off the rails a bit here, The reason I asked the question about Chipping / Re-mapping the Green-line is because to qualify here in Ireland for the scrappage Scheme the only Superb that can qualify is the Greenline due to emissions. If I buy a Greenline - annual road tax would cost me €156 / year. If I was to buy a 2.0 TDI common rail 140/170bhp I would be excluded from the scheme losing €1,500 and Annual Road Tax would cost €302. My thoughts are stay with the greenline and gain the €1500 - road tax will be €156 and for approx €250 remap when the Warranty is gone leaving me with a 145 BHP Skoda Superb Greenline. What do you think? Regards, Horse.
  13. Folks, Thanks for the replies - much appreciated. I know that Rosesteve has just purchased one and is very happy with it and He came up with a good point in that the Current Octavia is at the end of its life where as the new Superb is just beginning.........................worth considering. Regards, Horse.
