Yes an RX8 it is well if the one i see tomorrow ticks the right boxes I understand people expect way to much from some cars and i also see how the Fabia is a fantastic little car for the money but i feel like im getting all the drawbacks of owning something midly exotic and not many of the benefits, yes the car is bonkers quick but it doesnt feel exicitng to me, i owned an rx8 a few years ago and it was hands down the most exicitng car ive ever owned and the mpg is not that much worse than the fabia and the oil consumption is probably comparable, the boot is about the same size, theres just as much room in the back and the best bit its about 5k cheaper than the Fabia so it really does seem like a no brainer

Well for a little while ive considered it but now i have made my decision that im going to sell up and after 5 years of VAG ownership move over to a very very dark side! Few reasons, mainly the mpg issue on the new fabia, i bought the car in the knowledge that id be able to get certainly high 30's to the gallon, where so far im lucky to have got 30. Secondly ive lost confidence in the car hearing more than a fair share of relibaility problems and with my "normal" oil consumption becoming a complete pain in the backside. I wont reveal what i have bought yet to replace the fabia but lets just say low mpg and high oil consumption will remain the norm, but are at least expected!

on the subject of badges does anyone know when the new skoda badge is coming?

hmm sounds like it wont be as good as some of the remaps out there just gets more publicity as its from a large company. Im sure there are much better alternatives for the same or less money

seems like nearly all the issues with the engine are relating to the plugs, maybe the standard plugs just arnt up to the job?

my oil consumption is around 1l per 3000 miles, at what point does the level of consumption warrant remedial work being carried out?

im sorry if this is a little off the orginal topic but i have a pioneer AVIC-F9110BT unit, it has a harness on the back which plugs into the oe loom, theres also a small black box supposedly for the steering wheel controls, however the volume dial on the steering wheel doesnt work still, the other buttons do strangely enough, anyone know why this is happening?

Well i decided to repsray my wheels as i never liked the options you got, black wasnt black, chrome looked a bit too flash and white wouldnt go with the rest of the car so i have sprayed them with skoda black magic paint Still a work in progress, got some new tyres on order

The other day i rotated my wheels so i had a fairly decent set on the front that should last a few months, anyway the day after sods law i get a puncture in one! Now i have a dilemma, my plan was in 6 months time to replace all the tyres with some fairly decent 215 width tyres, now my plans been kind of runined, i dont know what to do! The options as i see them are to either get a new sportcontact tyre to replace the punctured one but at £100+ im not to keen on the cost! The second option is to get a cheap tyre put on to last the next 6 months but im not sure about having odd tyres on the same axle, should i be concerned? The other option is to chuck the other good sportcontact and put two 215 tyres on now What should i do or have i missed something?

I would also like that if its not too much trouble seriously considering getting it done as it seems to suit what i want perfectly How is it cruising on the motorway etc, does it drone at all?
