Brake Pad/Disc Replacement Quote
Rio replied to andrewkeith5's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
I guess it depends where you live, my local quotes £229.99 for front discs and pads which was before the VAT increase. So I don't think your getting a bad deal. However you will always be able to get the work done cheaper at an independent garage, might be worth posting your location and maybe someone will let you know where some decent ones are nearby you! Hope that helps Edit: Sorry just noticed that it was from an independent garage! Maybe its to do with where you live? I would assume that inner city areas would be more expensive. -
Why not get a connects2 lead? As long as you have and ipod/mp3 player it will play through your current stero!

Quick question, ive been able to get hold of some factory xenons for my fabia. Is it a straight swap for the originals? Or is there other parts needed?
-
Quite simply been offered a Viezu map at a reduced rate, been looking at getting one from somewhere for a while but are they any good? Can anyone recommend then?

Its in the manual somewhere if that helps!

You guys play badminton? Small world! What league?

No hidden catch however it comes with a lite version, so you can't get into the more complex settings but by the sound of it you don't need/want it for that anyway.

You can buy a version of vag com for around £10 on ebay that would tell you the fault http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VCDS-Lite-VAG-VW-Audi-Seat-Skoda-Diagnostics- Interface_W0QQitemZ220666099588QQihZ012QQcategoryZ30921QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ht_1636wt_1137 That's the one I bought if it helps.

Not to far from Basingstoke, City Skoda if you want a good skoda dealer. They've always done a good job for me and have replaced a few parts for free for me after warranty expired, not the cheapest though....
-
Cost me around £180 at a Skoda dealer, but you can have it done alot cheaper if you can find a decent independent garage.

I bought a Cat C in January which had been written off due to the previous owner driving it through a river and bending the con rod.... was professionally repaired/replaced and one of the best cars Ive ever had. I can't say ive had any problems with it being a Cat C for insurance, but ive accepted that it will be hard to sell in the future. It's definitely worth having an AA check done, gives you alot of info and they will notice any anomalies on the car. Rio

Mine also did that when I went over a bump, but mine turned out to me having damaged the abs sensor :( the light came on and off for a few days then went solidly on. Hope you don't have the same problem as me! Rio
