I've been driving THIS for the last week!!
PaulC replied to SkodaLover's topic in General Automotive Chat
well I would think brave old sole. but he must be gay Lol. -
1. Would you leave the country you live in now? Yes - trying to convice SWMBO 2. Where would you go? Current starter is Spain 3. Why there? And/or why would you leave? As it is pretty close to the UK the first stage would be holiday home to get used to the situation, hopefully then and when funds/timing permits maybe a more perminant move and then maybe to another country once the wrench has been dealt with. The main problem I have is my wife is very close to her family {hence the stage process} Also it is a country we both love to visit and offers us what we need with friendly people. TBH as long as I could find a job I would goto most countries without much hesitation, the hardest part is leaving a pretty well paid job and risking it all..but who knows what the future holds.

Pictures would help.

I ama fraid the insurers will either blame you or go 50/50 which will still be a faultclaim on your insurance, unless you can prove something that proves without doubt it wasn't your fault ie. witnesses etc. At the end of the day you my lose 2 years NCB which will increase your insurance but you are alive and well the car should be repaired back to normal and you will still have it, I would imagine the increase will not be too excessive the main one to keep is the first 30%. I hope it gets sorted in your favour although and it will be a test of how good your insurers are.

Yes I had to from Brooklyn but when they were at Alcester too {since closed} I used Prestige last year for mine and had no problems either with them to date {first service due very soon} I won't mention the one I don't like in Birmingham

Cars looking good, I am too not sure about the wheels and plod will like them if they stick outside the width of the car, I am not sure if flared arches would solve that though.

LOL caused quite a stirring on the 'scooby' forum -
I love my job it pays pretty well which affords me to do and have pretty much what I like withing reason, my job is varied and sometimes challanging with a wee bit of stress thrown in to boot. All in all I can do what I do at any similar company for more money if I wanted to but I am currently happy where I am and the people & bosses are nice too.

Please Vote.....Noise with Rear Windows on Octavia Mk2
PaulC replied to GAFF's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
no noise & merry christmas all. -
It'll soon come along & you will be smiling all the way

Having one also myself I get 40mpg and a sturdy road holding car to boot, it isone of the best cars I have owned, I had also had the MK1 vRS and it is better than that & feels more solid. Sometimes I actually think it holds the road better than my weekend Scooby, but it is a diferent car obviously.

I too would agree with this however the parrot car kit in my Octy seems to have this problem but the one in my wifes Hyundai works every time, strange.

How can I stop the display showing the trip computer reading instead of the miles done reading when the car starts as for some reason it always defaults back to showing trip when I start the car? Any ideas as it is starting to get on my nerves Paul.
-
Well I thought that now my first tank of fuel has been used up since picking the car up on the 28th April, I would just report back that is has done 410miles and is reading 44.4 mpg, which I am more than happy with. It has been used for a mix of driving both motorway and town. So I am one happy Octavia vrs Diesel owner

I picked up my new vRS TDi & how amazed I was with it, although it has not really been put through it's paces yet I am happy with the car itself, every thing is nicely laid out & more importantly the missus is happy with it too Hopefully in the next week or so I will post up the pictures of it, once I figured out what the hell is wrong with the camera, it was working fine last week when we were away. Paul. So glad am I to be back in the Skoda fold.
